Mated to my sister’s ugly mate

As Henry drove the car out into the night, Shadow sensed something was off. The entertainment reporters who had been tailing them had mysteriously vanished. She decided to speak up, her voice laced with uncertainty and gratitude, “Please pull over by the roadside. I’ll get out of the car. Thank you for your help today.”

Henry obediently parked the car beside the road, his gaze fixated on Shadow. An odd look crossed his face as he said, “The door seems to be locked.”

Shadow turned to him, her eyes widening in surprise. “What do you mean, the door is locked?”

Henry’s expression grew stranger, confidence replacing the confusion. “Shadow, you’ve chosen me over Alpha Kilian’s cousin.”

“What?!” Shadow’s mind was reeling with disbelief. Was that really what he meant?

Seeing her stunned silence, Henry’s tone became even more self-assured. “We belong together. Our love is genuine, and we will be happier without the interference of others.”

“You and me?!” Shadow pointed at herself and then at him, her voice laced with incredulity.

Henry nodded, a self-satisfied smile tugging at his lips. He reached out to touch Shadow’s cheek, believing his charm would win her over. “You’ve been burdened far too long guarding that crippled Alpha Kilian. I understand your connection with his cousin. I won’t hold it against you.”

Had she worked so hard all this while?

His words struck a nerve, making it clear that he thought she was merely stuck with Alpha Kilian, a crippled leader incapable of fulfilling his role as a man. The loneliness must have driven her into the arms of his cousin.

Shadow turned her head, avoiding his touch. Disgust contorted her features. “Are you suggesting an affair behind Alpha Kilian’s back?”

Henry, aware of the headlines circulating on the internet, believed Shadow couldn’t tolerate the loneliness and sought solace in Alpha Kilian’s cousin.

But Shadow had never held affection for the cousin. Though he seemed eager to pursue her, she would always choose Alpha Kilian over anyone else.

Ignoring her rejection, Henry’s excitement grew. “Alpha Kilian isn’t worthy of you. We’re meant to be together.”

“Who truly loves you? It’s Jessica, not me. If you don’t unlock the door, I’ll call the police.” Shadow pressed herself against the car door, a vigilant look in her eyes.

How had she failed to see how extreme Henry could be?

His hope began to waver as Shadow remained unwavering in her defiance. He approached her, his excitement undying. “How can Jessica compare to you?”

Frustrated with his persistence, Shadow wasted no more time. She pulled out her phone and dialed for the police.

Not wanting to lose face, Henry took a step back and unlocked the car door.

As Shadow stepped out of the car, she turned to look at him, her demeanor distant. “Henry, I used to like you. Maybe you never realized what I saw in you. But from now on, I will no longer harbor any feelings for you, let alone have an affair behind Alpha Kilian’s back.”

Each word enraged Henry further. Shadow turned away, refusing to spare him another glance.Content © provided by NôvelDrama.Org.

She hadn’t walked far when another car pulled up beside her.

Assuming it was Henry again, Shadow quickened her pace. But her assumptions shattered when a familiar voice called out from within the car.

“Young Madame.”

Startled, Shadow turned to face the vehicle. “Frank? You’re back?”

Frank, Alpha Kilian’s trusted assistant, nodded respectfully. “Yes, the young master sent me to drive you home.”

Shadow had longed to see Alpha Kilian, even if it meant only witnessing his back.

Though conflicted, she climbed into the car with a sense of relief.

But as the car moved forward, her excitement waned, replaced by unease.

Why had Alpha Kilian returned at this precise moment?

Had he just arrived or had he been here all day? Had he seen the news about her and “Alpha Dominic”?

If he had seen it, what would he do?

No, even if he hadn’t seen it, someone would undoubtedly inform him.

The Lance family must have intervened to suppress the news, indicating that they knew. And if they knew, Alpha Kilian must know too.

Anxiety consumed her as the car halted in front of the Castle.

“Young Madame, we’ve arrived. Please exit the car,” Frank said respectfully, opening the door for her.

Shadow stepped out, her gaze fixed on Alpha Kilian’s study room on the second floor. She asked Frank, her voice filled with anticipation, “Is Alpha Kilian in the study?”

Frank responded, “No, the young master is resting.”

Nodding, Shadow’s eyes drifted to “Alpha Dominic” sitting casually in the hall, sipping his coffee.

Anger surged through her, but with Frank’s presence, she couldn’t release it. Instead, she glared coldly at him before making her way upstairs to her room.

As Shadow left, “Alpha Dominic” retreated from the hall, leaving no trace of his existence.

In the kitchen, Shadow busied herself preparing a light meal. The atmosphere felt markedly fresher now that “Alpha Dominic” was absent.

Having just returned from a grueling journey, Alpha Kilian needed rest. The least she could do was prepare something comforting for him.

But before she could finish cooking, Frank entered and spoke, “Young Madame, I must step out for a moment. I respectfully request you to deliver the food to the young master later.”

Puzzled by the late hour, Shadow wondered why there was so much activity. “Alright, I’ll bring it to him when I’m done.”

Shortly after, she finished preparing the dishes and carried them upstairs to Alpha Kilian’s study.

Standing at the door, she knocked, but no response came. She pushed the door open and stepped inside, intending to leave the food before leaving.

To her surprise, as she turned around, she came face to face with “Alpha Dominic.”
