Alpha Kilian snapped at Shadow , his voice filled with frustration and anger. He couldn’t believe the situation they were in. Shadow , on the other hand, didn’t seem to care. She stood tall on the chair, her eyes fixed on the person who had insulted them. She was ready to defend Alpha Kilian and herself, even if it meant resorting to violence.
Seeing Shadow ‘s determination, the group of people hesitated. They didn’t expect her to be so bold and fearless. They exchanged glances, unsure of what to do next.
Alpha Kilian knew he had to intervene before things escalated further. Taking a deep breath, he stepped forward and tried to reason with the group. “Listen, we don’t want any trouble. Just leave us alone and we can all go our separate ways.”
But his words fell on deaf ears. The group seemed more interested in using their strength to overpower Alpha Kilian and Shadow .
In that moment, Shadow jumped off the chair and charged at the person who had insulted them. With a swift motion, she swung the broken bottle of wine towards him, aiming to scare him off. The person flinched, narrowly avoiding the bottle.
Alpha Kilian quickly stepped in, pushing Shadow back and shielding her from any harm. He couldn’t help but feel impressed by her bravery, but he knew that violence wouldn’t solve anything.
Using his commanding presence, Alpha Kilian spoke with authority. “Enough! This ends now. Leave us alone or face the consequences.”
The group hesitated again, but eventually, they turned and left, realizing that they had pushed Alpha Kilian and Shadow too far.All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.
Alpha Kilian let out a sigh of relief as the tension dissolved. He turned his attention to Shadow , his expression softened. “You didn’t have to go that far. We could have found another way to handle the situation.”
Shadow , still adrenaline-fueled, grinned. “But it worked, didn’t it? They won’t bother us anymore.”
Alpha Kilian couldn’t help but smile at her mischievousness. Despite the chaos of the night, he admired her courage and determination. He knew there was more to her than meets the eye, and he was intrigued to learn more.
Together, they walked back into the hall, leaving behind the tense atmosphere. As they found their seats again, Alpha Kilian couldn’t help but feel a strange connection to Shadow . Maybe this unexpected encounter was the beginning of something extraordinary.
Shadow looked at him with a serious expression and said in a serious tone, “I’m not coming down. These mean people are trying to hurt you. Don’t worry, I’ll teach them a lesson!”
Xavier, who had been secretly following them, heard Shadow’s words. He laughed in a mean way.
It had always been Alpha Kilian who bullied others. How could anyone bully him?
After Shadow finished speaking, she looked at the group of men with determination. “Did you all hear what I said? Apologize to me now!”
The men, who had never been challenged by a woman like this before, immediately became angry and wanted to fight.
Just then, Frank, accompanied by bodyguards, arrived and fought off the men in a few moves.
Frank walked up to Alpha Kilian and asked respectfully, “Sir, how should we deal with them?”
Alpha Kilian looked at Shadow, who was still holding a wine bottle and cheering for Frank. He felt a sense of fondness towards her. “Tell them to apologize to her on their knees.”
Frank couldn’t believe what he was hearing. “Huh?”
What happened next was something no one expected.
The group of men knelt down and apologized to Shadow, calling her “Sister, I was wrong.”
On the way back, Frank drove while Alpha Kilian carried a sleeping Shadow in the backseat.
Frank kept glancing at them through the rearview mirror.
He saw his young master holding onto Shadow like she was a precious treasure. Though Alpha Kilian’s expression was hidden, Frank could sense that he was in a good mood.
Frank couldn’t understand why his young master was so happy after what happened at the bar.
Soon, they arrived at the entrance of the castle.
Alpha Kilian carried Shadow out of the car and took her to her room, stopping at the door.
As he carried her inside, he couldn’t help but think about how noisy she was at the bar. But now, in her sleep, she was much more obedient.
Shadow slept soundly, her nose twitching slightly, and her lips slightly parted, attracting attention.
Alpha Kilian bent down and stared at her for a few seconds. Unable to resist, he kissed her lips.
After the kiss, his voice was already hoarse. “You smell terrible.”
He adjusted the room’s temperature and covered her with a blanket before leaving.
…
The next morning, when Shadow woke up, she felt dizzy.
She closed her eyes again and opened them a while later, feeling much better.
She got up from bed and looked around the familiar room. She walked out and tiptoed around, feeling like a thief.
She had only ever drunk with Hazel before. According to Hazel, she acted completely different when she was drunk.
She wasn’t sure if she had done something embarrassing to Alpha Dominic last night.
Shadow walked downstairs and looked around cautiously.
To her relief, she didn’t see Alpha Dominic anywhere.
“Good morning, sister-in-law.”
Shadow jumped in surprise at the sudden male voice.
She turned around and saw Alpha Dominic coming out of the kitchen with a glass of water.
She forced a smile. “Good morning.”
Alpha Kilian approached her, his tone slightly dissatisfied as he saw that she seemed fine. “Did you sleep well last night?”
Shadow answered honestly, “I’m fine.”
“Hmph.” Alpha Kilian scoffed and walked past her.
She had slept well, giving him a good dream throughout the night.
Shadow followed after him, being cautious. “Yesterday, we drank together. Thank you.”
As she spoke, she carefully observed Alpha Dominic’s expression.
She couldn’t remember what happened after last night.
Alpha Kilian turned to look at her, noticing her unchanged expression. He realized she had no recollection of what happened.
His eyes flickered, and he said meaningfully, “In the future, don’t drink whenever you’re bored. Luckily, I was there to pick you up. If someone else…”
He seemed like he wanted to say more but refrained, leaving Shadow with a sinking feeling.
What did she do last night?
But Alpha Dominic didn’t seem like he wanted to share. She could only assume it wasn’t something good. She didn’t dare to ask in case it was embarrassing.
Alpha Kilian looked at Shadow with satisfaction as she grew nervous. He carried the water upstairs.
This woman usually seemed weak and calm. He didn’t expect her to cause so much trouble after getting drunk.
If he hadn’t been with her, who knows who would clean up her mess?
Shadow was just really upset yesterday. Hazel was gone from the Herton Pack, and filming was difficult. She didn’t want to bother Hazel with her troubles.
Besides drinking to alleviate boredom, she didn’t know how else to make herself feel better.
Now that she had calmed down, she felt useless.
Lisa probably still didn’t think she did anything wrong to Shadow. Shadow was the only one feeling sad and hurt.
Shadow was clear about her feelings regarding Lisa.
She had listened to Lisa so much in the past because she had hoped for attention and love from her.
But she now knew that her hopes were in vain.
And since her feud with Jessica had escalated, Shadow had no intention of letting her go easily.
They had used her entirely, yet they acted as if they had done nothing wrong and continued to target her. How could they be so shameless?
When Shadow arrived at the Eden Group, she went straight to Jason’s office.
Upon seeing her, Jason frowned. His tone wasn’t friendly. “What are you doing here?”
“I can’t handle being a market researcher anymore. I applied to transfer to the project department to learn from my sister.” Shadow looked at him, hoping he would believe her sincerity.
Jason had initially transferred Shadow to the market department to prevent her from getting involved in the more important project department. This way, even if she had shares in the Eden Group, they wouldn’t be of much use.
“You couldn’t even handle being a market researcher. Do you really think you can handle working with Jessica?” Jason doubted Shadow’s words.
Shadow smiled, trying to appear serious. “The main reason is that I admire my sister’s skills. I believe I can learn a lot from her. I’ve always looked up to her. Even now, I listen to her because I genuinely like her. I admit I’ve made mistakes recently…”
As she spoke, Shadow’s voice became softer, and she forced out a couple of tears.
