Chapter 20 Wait For Me
Chapter 20 Wait For Me
As soon as Julie arrived at the fast food restaurant, she bought two hamburgers, one for herself and
the other for James. Frowning, James stared at the hamburger in his hand. He had never eaten
anything like this before. It was not his parents who prevented James from eating it. It was his own
habit. No matter how busy he was, he had to sit at the table and eat slowly.
Julie also knew James's habits, but she deliberately ignored it because she didn't want to consider
whether he was happy or not on this day. She wanted to do what she wanted.
After looking down at the hamburger for a while, James frowned and looked at Julie, who was eating
the hamburger in a big gulp. She seemed to have lost her image. In the past, James would never eat
fast food like this, but when he saw Julie gulping down food, he wanted to taste what was so delicious
in this hamburger that Julie ate it so sweetly. James lowered his head and took a bite of the hamburger. Ccontent © exclusive by Nô/vel(D)ra/ma.Org.
Julie was surprised by what James did. She couldn't help but look at him with her eyes wide open.
Noticing Julie's gaze, James frowned and asked, "What's wrong?"
Julie quickly turned her face away, shook her head and said in a low voice, "No… Nothing... "
Then James lowered his head and took another bite of the hamburger. Although it didn't suit his taste, it
was not as unbearable as he thought. James had always been clear about what to love or hate. If he
liked something, he would always like it. If he hated something, it would be difficult to change. It would
be the same if he liked someone.
But now, James's attitude towards things became unclear. He looked down at the clothes he was
wearing, the hamburger in his hand, and the people walking beside him.
Now he began to slowly accept the people and things he used to hate?
While thinking, James couldn't help but glance at Julie. Usually, Julie liked to wear a business suit. She
was obviously a successful woman in the business world. When she smiled, people could see that she
was slick, but when she didn't smile, she could also frighten others with her arrogance. But now, Julie
was wearing a funny cartoon T-shirt, and her hair was tied up in a mess, and then she was eating
hamburger in a big gulp. Because she ate too much, her cheeks were bulging, and she looked a little
cute.
Cute?
Shocked by his sudden thought, James turned his head in a hurry. But when James heard that Julie
was going to take photos at the Ferris wheel, he still followed her.
Different from the embarrassing scene when they took photos last time, this time, James naturally put
his hand on Julie's shoulder. Julie also slightly leaned her head towards him. The two of them looked
like a very intimate couple.
After walking around and taking photos, Julie soon had a thick stack of photos in her hands. These
photos were enough to convince everyone that they were a real couple on their honeymoon.
Seeing that it was going to rain, Julie smiled and said, "Then we..."
"Let's go to the cinema," said James before Julie could finish her words.
"What?" Julie widened her eyes in surprise.
Julie didn't expect that James would come up with such an idea. They had taken photos before to deal
with Miranda. But if they watched a movie together, how could they take photos? It seemed more like a
date.
Seeing the surprised look on Julie's face, James knew that his suggestion was too surprising. However,
James had a feeling that he would have to watch a movie with Julie one day.
After being stunned for a while, Julie nodded and said, "Okay, then let's go and have a look."
James nodded, and then when they were about to go to the cinema, his phone rang. James looked
down at the phone, and his expression changed. He frowned and stared at the phone in his hand. Julie
had never seen James like this before. She walked up to him and asked in a low voice, "What's wrong
with you?"
However, it seemed that James didn't hear what Julie said. It seemed that Julie disappeared in front of
him, and his eyes were only fixed on the phone.
"What's wrong?" Julie couldn't help raising her voice.
James answered suddenly, "Wait for me. I have to answer the phone."
After saying that, James took the phone and walked a few steps away. He walked away slowly while
talking on the phone.
Julie watched James walking farther and farther away and disappearing in the dark night. She was still
standing there. Julie still remembered that although James didn't treat her well and was cold to her, he
kept his promise. Although Julie was a little nervous, she decided to wait.
The whole day had passed. It's nothing serious for her to wait for a while.
Julie waited on the bench in the amusement park. When all the people in the park were gone, it began
to rain, and Julie was still sitting on the bench.
Julie realized that James wouldn't come back. However, she was not waiting for him now. She was just
angry with herself. How could she still have any hope for James? She was such a stupid woman.
A phone call made James forget her. Who was she in his heart?
The rain was getting heavier and heavier, and Julie's clothes were all wet. A staff of the amusement
park walked up to Julie and whispered, "Hello, we are about to close the gate."
However, Julie didn't move at all. Seeing that she didn't move, the staff was frightened and asked, "Are
you not feeling well?"
In fact, the staff wanted to ask if there was something wrong with Julie's brain. How could a woman sit
in the amusement park in the middle of the night and get wet in the rain without moving?
Julie slowly raised her head and looked at the staff. Suddenly, she smiled and said, "No, I'm fine. I've
never been so happy before."
She had never been so sober since she met James, even if she had decided to give up this
relationship, even in the face of his cold treatment after marriage, even if she wanted to let go of him for
countless times and no longer tangled with him. She was not as sober as she was now.
At this moment, Julie knew clearly that she didn't love James anymore. She had no feelings for him
anymore.
Julie stood up and walked a few steps forward with a smile. The photos in her hand were blurred by the
rain, and she couldn't see that the two people smiling happily on the photo were Julie and James.
