Mistake with the Alpha

This is the very first time I'll fail. I wouldn't blame Omar's daughter for saying all that. The pain of failure is more than the pain of anything in life. If I had known that Alpha's mate has a lot of powerful people beside her, I would have summoned more powers. I underestimated them and that was why I failed.

Who can tell that that lycan witch hybrid could be that powerful. Not that I didn't know he was working for the Alpha's mate but then I thought he wouldn't be able to hinder me but now, I know what I'm facing. Even if not for Omar, I'm going to deal with them all for my own pride. I wouldn't mind if after, I breathe my last breath.

I know I couldn't do this alone anymore, I have to go meet my sister. She would gladly help me. In fact she hates lycans. She hates everything about them. But then I have to recover from the blow I received from that little boy. Jaylen

"Mom, anything you chose is fine. I don't care about the ceremony, all I care about is that Sam is wedded to me".

My mother has been pestering me about how I'm going to look at my wedding. Yes, my wedding. It's in two days time. I didn't even know why they didn't let us get married the following day. That was all my mother and Sally's doing. The worst part is that they took Sam away from me.

"That poor girl has been through a lot more than not to give her a very grand wedding".

That has been my mother's music since we started planning this wedding. To me it seems as if she's the one that wants the grand style, not my wife to be.

"Fine. Do what you like" I said dryly.

I was very busy. The work at the mine is now getting so hectic but my mother wouldn't let me be. She comes to my office every five minutes to ask questions that I think are really flimsy. Just as I said this, the door opened and my father came in.

My mother looked at him and she stood to leave. Those two have not been on talking terms since what happened yesterday. My mother was still very much angry at him.

"Mom...." I called softly.

My mother looked at me and glared.

"Stay out of this!" Her voice was very stern.

I didn't like the way these two ain't on talking terms. They've never been like this but then my mother was right but my father has pride. Just as my mother wanted to pass by my father, he held her arm. "Gerard let me be!"

"C'mon sweetheart...... We've had so many quarrels on this issue. I'm really tired".

With the look on my father, I know he was really tired. He looks so pitiable. Now I know the feeling of this mating bond of a thing. Ever since I've marked Sam, I'm just feeling like if I leave her for a minute my mind is going to explode.

My mother looked at him, eyed him and then left. The pain that registered on my father's eyes was just too much. He then looked at me. "It's fine dad" I said softly.

I didn't know how to placate this man. He's my father but I must confess, he's a man with too much pride. What is there other than apologising to Sam? In fact, it's not as if mother is saying what is wrong. Sam deserves his apology. With all that he has done to her because of those imposters.

"It's not fine boy" he groaned.

Sam is my wife to be and I couldn't open my mouth to tell my father that he should apologise to her. It would look so rude.

"I'll talk to her....."

I didn't have anything to say to him aside from that. He waved his hand as if to stop me.

"Don't bother. You know your mom is really stubborn. She won't budge".

Well that's true. As mild as my mother is, she's a very strong woman and a stubborn one. Since I don't have a solution to my father's issue, I continued what I was doing. After a while, there was a knock at the door.

"Come in," I said.

Alvin and two guards came in. The two guards carried large wrapped gifts in their hands. I looked at it with a brow raised.

"Alpha" Alvin bowed.

"What's that?" I asked, looking at what they bear.

"They are wedding gifts from the Alpha of the almond pack. He sends his congratulations." Alvin replied.

" Oh, but isn't the wedding still in two days?" I asked.

I didn't even know that my wedding news had spread so far. I wasn't willing to have a very ceremonious party. If it was left to me, I would just have a small party. But I think mum is really doing a wonderful job in spreading the news. "Look at you. I started receiving my wedding gift a week before the wedding" my father said smiling.

With the way dad has been moody since we found out who my true mate is, I've got this thinking that he didn't like my mate. Well I don't care at all. She's mine not his. But him smiling now, gave me a little doubt.

"The Alpha of the almond pack said might not be able to make it because of the errands of the Alpha King. So if he's not going to make it, he'll surely send one of his members to grace your occasion" Alvin reported. "No problem," I said casually.

With this Alvin left and I continued the business talk with my father.

"Jaylen, I've been meaning to ask......."

"What?"

"Since Allison and their father did what they did, what you allocated to them from this project, who are you going to give it to?"

This was the exact question Alvin asked me yesterday when we were at the mine. What everyone in the pack doesn't know is that they all have their entitlement to this work we are doing. Even if it is little.

It was only my father, Alvin, Ethan and I that knew about this whole thing. I had made sure to design it so that everyone in the pack gets a benefit from this new development. Even to the least of them. We started from hierarchy, then to the least. Now none will expect me to still include those wicked people in my plans. They sure don't deserve a cup of oil from everything.

"Alvin asked me the same

question yesterday but I didn't have an answer to it...."

"I can give you a few suggestions," my father said. "But...." I paused to look at him. "I think I have now".

My father concentrated.

"That's good. So what do you think should be done?" "I'm going to give it to Sam's parents".
