Mistake with the Alpha

Jaylen's POV

Looking at the way things happen to me now, I'm now a full breed vampire. Well this didn't let anyone know. Even my mate that helped me to align my powers together, I didn't tell her anything. Well, that's because I didn't want to scare her. My vampire part seems quite terrifying.

After she fell asleep last night, I also wanted to sleep but the thirst for blood wouldn't let me. This has been happening to me since I aligned my powers. I know that was the vampire in me. This has gotten me quite weak these few days. "If you're reading this on any site other than Job, this content has been stolen! Even whenever I'm at war, I always try all my best possible not to stain myself with so much blood. Even if I did, I'll wash it away immediately.

I know you'll be wondering why that should be. I'm a wolf and should be able to eat raw food but then I think I'm different. But now with my vampire breed, I think all the fear and disgust for blood will disappear. Vampires need to survive with blood. Me being adamant is killing me. My body won't stay still and I'm getting weaker. I was so restless where I lay. Sam moved and I realised that if I don't get up, I'll wake her up and I'll have to tell her what is wrong with me.

I gently stood up from the bed and went outside. This is my house so no one would be around by this time. But then I didn't want to take any chances. I use my vampire speed to run into the woods. I was weak when I got to the woods. Then I start to hunt. It didn't take long for me to see a deer. I ran after it and caught it. I didn't even need to change into my wolf. I caught it barehanded. It was struggling but I knocked it out.

I pulled out its head like a starving lion and I sucked blood hungrily. Surprisingly, the blood that disgusts me so much, is now like a delicacy to me. It soothes all my shaking nerves and after I've sucked out all the blood, I felt so satisfied. After I was done, I dropped the deer.

That was when I remembered him. I felt guilty for taking the blood.

"I'm sorry Hort" I said softly.

"Why?"

His voice was casual.

"Ain't you irritated?"

I could see him sitting down calmly in my head. Although his face doesn't show that he was disgusted, I couldn't help but to think about it.

"Do you feel disgusted?" He asked me.

"Nope" I shook my head.

"Well since you don't feel disgusted, I don't either. Have you forgotten that we share the same feelings? It's part of us" he replied.

My guilt disappeared immediately and I was quite glad and I sighed. I looked down at my body and blood had splashed all over. I know that my face will surely be messed up as my body, this made me frown.

"Why frown? You got blood all over you because you pulled the head out instead of just biting the neck and sucking the blood through the bite" Hort said disdainfully.

"Don't mock me, it's my first time," I said to Hort.

He shook his head at me and smiled.

I looked around and couldn't see anything that would clean the blood on me. Since I ran to the woods naked, I know that all I need now is to bathe in the river.

"You don't need that. All you just have to do is wave your hand on the part you want to clean and it'll be done" Hort said to me.

"How did you know this?"

"Just knew".

This sounds strange to me because it's just like magic. I doubted Hort's words. He might be tricking me.

"Are you trying to trick me?" I asked him.

"Try it out," he said casually.

It's Hort's casual voice that I don't trust the most. I paused, thought about it for a while before I decided to finally do it. I waved my hand faithlessly from my head to my feet and to my utmost shock, it worked. "You see... You thought I was lying" Hort said.

"Do I have magic now?" I asked with excitement.

Hort laughed at me shaking his head." How naive you Jaylen. Do you know anything about vampires at all?"

I frowned at his mockery and him calling me naive.

"Of course I do!" I boasted.

Hort's mocking face didn't leave.

"I know they have speeds, can read minds. I know they are quite strong too but unlike us, we are stronger. Some can even see the future and past....." I paused.

I was trying to see if I could remember more about what they can do. The truth is I didn't have much time to study about them. I didn't have interest in them before but I know I had to get to know about them, when I was having issues with my mating bond. And then again, it is one issue to another. I don't have much time to do proper research. So not knowing everything about them isn't because I'm dull but because I don't know. "Vampires can do more man. They have what is called prowess and prowess isn't magic. Just like what you did now, vampires can also freeze time......."

"Really?" I was shocked.

I've never heard of that. Now I'm quite confused and also know I know too little about my other part.

"Yes and they can do many more".

"They can really freeze time?" I repeated.

"Yes but...."

"Can I try it out?" I rushed out.

"It takes process boy".

I heard a voice and that voice is definitely not Hort's. It's totally different. I stiffened and then sniffed his smell. I could sense that he is a vampire and a very powerful one at that. His smell tells it all.

I looked back to see him standing there looking at me with his white face. How did he get into our territory without being caught? I'm so sure that I didn't leave the border of my pack. He was the one who trespassed. Does that mean that the guard of my pack has reduced? This got me angry. I'm sure I'm going to see that tomorrow.

"Who are you?" I growled.

"Can't you tell?" He replied calmly.

I was quite vexed at how he was calm in the territory of the werewolves. How could he? Shouldn't he be terrified? We are sworn enemies. I know I'm also a vampire but it's just one part of me. Moreover my werewolf part is more dominant.

"I know what you are. How did you get in?" I retorted.

"I have my way" he looked smug.

What insolence! He's still even proud of sneaking in. Well he did a good job though and I'm sure going to talk to my chief guards when it is morning.

"What are you doing here?"

The vampire looked at me for a while before he talked.

"I came for you".

I gave him a blank look. He can't be serious. Because I've activated the vampire prowess in me doesn't mean that I'm a vampire. According to history they are not also trustworthy people. So I'm not going to mingle with them, talk more of, accommodating them. "Why?" I asked grudgingly.

In my heart I just want to kick this man's a*s.

"You are one of us Jaylen....."

I rushed at him and grabbed his neck.

"Don't you dare call me one of you! I'm not one of you," I growled at him.

My palm squeezed at his neck. I know I was hurting him, but I don't mind. He also was as calm as ever.

"You can deny it in your heart, but you can't in your body," he said stiffly.

It was because I was holding his neck so tight. I know he said the truth but I'm not going to let him have the say on me.

"It's none of your business. It's all mine!" I growled.

"I'm not here to hurt you. If you will calm down and let me say why I'm here, I'll disappear soon," he said.

Hearing what he said, I glared at him and threw him away. He panted, stood up and dusted his clothes. I watched as he pulled his jacket. I was at alert thinking what he wanted to do. He then attached it to me. I glared at him. "I'm attracted to any gender, so I can't keep seeing you like this," he said with a stiff smile.
