"How dare you!"
My father gave me a slap. I held my face looking at him.
"How dare you ruin my plan because of jealousy!" He shouted.
"I'm sorry dad. I didn't mean to" I apologised.
"You didn't mean to?" He said glaring at me.
I was really angry and hated that girl the most. My father never hit me once but now he has already hit me twice just for her. I wish she will be dead and never wake up again. "Have you forgotten what Diana told you? I've you forgotten so soon?" He asked in a low voice but his words were so harsh.
I looked down at my shoes. I know I messed up big time.
"How do we correct this foolish mistake?" he asked.
He went to sit on the sofa and put his hand on his forehead as if he got a headache. I really wasn't thinking well before I did what I did but now what is the solution.
I went to my father and knelt before him so I could look at him.
"I promise to correct it dad" I said softly.
There was a very violent knock on the door that both my father and I looked in the direction sharply.
"Luna! Luna! Luna!" The voice at the door called restlessly.
I quickly stood up and went to the door and opened it. I then saw one of the females I chose to be my maid.
"Luna, the Alpha fainted," she said crying.
"What!" I said.
I should have expected this. Sam is the real mate and if anything happens to his mate it will surely affect him. I exchanged sad looks with my father. "Where is he?" My father asked.
"He's in his room with the physician," she replied.
"Thank you" my father said and the maid left.
My father turned to me and glared. I couldn't help but to cry. All my hard work was about to be destroyed because of my eagerness to prove power. "Let's go see him," he said softly.
We then ran to Jaylen's chambers. At the door we heard Gerard and his wife arguing.
"You can't detain those poor people. You have to be reasonable here. Their daughter is still in a coma and you also imprisoned them?" Cleo shouted.
"I don't care. They must have done something to him. If my son doesn't wake up, I'll surely wipe out their generation" Gerard swore.
"You can't be this unreasonable. You don't know if it's just a coincidence" Cleo said in anger.
"There's nothing you can tell me. They stay there until my son is awake. I've warned Jaylen to stay away from that girl but he won't listen. Now look at this now".
"Is that what you would say?" She asked.
My father and I quickly entered before Cleo started to say negative things about us to her husband. We knew how much influence she had on him. Many sentences in this chapter have been removed because you are not reading them on . Then I went straight to where Jaylen was lying. His eyes were tightly closed as if he was in deep pain. I was so sad because I didn't think we'll before I did what I did.
"Jaylen..." I sniffed. "This is all my fault. I'm the reason you are like these. Please don't die. I'm begging you. Don't die on me" I cried softly.
They were looking at me as I wept and kept pulling Jaylen to wake up. Gerard came to me and carried me away from Jaylen. I didn't struggle but I did leave reluctantly. I looked at Gerard with her puffy eyes. I was glad that I always look so terrible whenever I'm crying.
"I'm so sorry dad. I'm really sorry. I didn't mean to cause so much commotion" I said with a quivering voice.
I made sure to sound like a really grieving wife. Gerard hugged me and patted my back. He didn't say anything.
"I was only trying to prove what she told me wrong. I thought she was lying" I added.
Then what I said got Gerard's attention. He released the hug and looked at me.
"I don't understand," he said with a standoffish look.
"I... I...." I then started crying. "I'm so sorry," I said.
"Don't apologise. Tell me what you meant by what you just said now" he said with a strong tone.
"Promise me you won't get too angry" I said looking pitiably at him.
My eyes then looked at Cleo and it met with hers. Her eyes were saying vividly that she's not not buying everything that I'm about to say but I never cared. Gerard is my target.
"Even if I'm going to get angry, I won't get angry at you" he replied.
"The maid said to me that Jaylen will never get married to me because she has bound him with her. At first I thought she was trying to trick me, that's why I did what I did. If I knew she was telling the truth about Jaylen's soul being bound to hers I wouldn't have done anything to her. I love Jaylen more than letting him get hurt," I said in a low voice.
Cleo snorted but didn't say anything.
"Are you sure about what you are saying?" My father asked me with a firm voice.
I nodded.
"I knew it. It's not possible for one not to like his mate. I've been thinking and now my suspicion has been confirmed" Gerard said between gritted teeth. "We can't be so sure it might have been a coincidence," Cleo said.
"This is no coincidence. My son had never gotten hurt and now he just went down all of a sudden just because she got hurt. This explains it all" Gerard retorted. Cleo didn't say anything anymore but it showed in her eyes that she didn't believe my words.
"Why didn't you say anything before now?" My father asked me.
