Chapter 515
Chapter 515
What are you waiting for? Eat.” Matthew noticed her standing still and casually prompted her.
For the first time, Cynthia found eating to be a challenging task. Her troubled mind caused her to eat slower than usual.
Thinking that he had chosen the food well, Matthew lifted his eyes slightly and asked, “Don’t they suit your taste?
“No,” Cynthia answered. It would be impolite to say so, seeing that the Captain had brought the food here himself,
“My sister was just joking earlier. From now on, you don’t have to worry about me when you’re cooking. Just make whatever you want.” Cynthia decided to clear the air after a moment’s consideration.
Matthew set down his plate and fork. He just watched her, baffled
Cynthia had no choice but to meet his gaze. She still found it somewhat hard to handle his intense stare, even though she was no longer being trained.
“Cynthia,” Matthew called her name leisurely.
Her eyes were full of confusion. “Hmm?”
“Stop thinking and eat.” Matthew did not know what else to say.
“Captain.” Cynthia realized that she might be busier later, and if she still had to be on guard against being tricked by Captain, her brain might not be up to it.
Matthew looked at her.
Holding her chopsticks without moving, Cynthia asked, “The promise you made earlier still stands, right?”
“Which promise?
“The one about agreeing to a request of mine when I return.”
With a pause, Matthew had not expected her to bring that up suddenly. “It still does,” he replied
“Can you let go of the incident where I used you as an “antidote” over the phone?” asked Cynthia, her expression seemingly nonchalant, but her heart rate picked up a bit.
Matthew raised his brow slightly. “When have I ever held a grudge?” Exclusive © material by Nô(/v)elDrama.Org.
“You’re promising then?”
“Hmm”
Cynthia let out a breath she did not realize she’d been holding. A weight was lifted from her shoulders, and she found herself eating a little faster.
Matthew had initially wanted to ask her something. However, seeing her enjoy her meal, he held his tongue. After dinner, Cynthia offered to do the dishes, but Matthew ended up washing them anyway.
“Have you found anything about Jushnia and Sean?” Matthew asked, handing her a glass of water after he had cleaned up. He took a seat next to her on the couch.
“Nothing yet. I plan to go and ask Sean myself.” Cynthia’s mood turned somber as she brought up the subject.
Matthew’s gaze darkened.
Thinking about work, Cynthia told him beforehand, “Mor is now in charge of your duties. For anything you need, you can ask him. He knows Arch International even better than I do.”
“Alright.”
Matthew pondered for a moment before agreeing. He had some things to deal with here. Sean was cunning, not evil per se. Cynthia should be able to handle him.
After sitting for a while longer, Cynthia went home. Instead of directly checking where Sean was, she sent him an email, roughly stating that she wanted to meet him. After sending the email, she planned to take a bath
After sending Joshua for treatment, Sean had been waiting outside the operating room. Seeing that several hours had passed and the operation was still not finished, he began to feel restless and thought of leaving him there.
