Mr. Neal, Mrs. Neal’s Gone With The Money

Chapter 572

Chapter 572

Joshua blurted out.

Matthew teased, “I’ll do it anyway.”

“If you dare, I’ll tell Cynthia you hit me,” Joshua argued, quickly coming up with a plan.

Matthew glanced at Joshua as if saying, “There’s no scratch on you, so where did I hit you?”

Nonetheless, Joshua was cunning and threw himself to the ground.

Thud! This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.

The fall scratched his previously blistered hand, causing blood to trickle out.

Matthew casually pointed to a spot and said, “There’s surveillance there. Even if you go back with injuries all over, Cynthia can check the footage and find out.”

Joshua was displeased.

Seeing that it was almost time, Matthew stood up “Let’s go back.”

“I don’t want you to take care of me,” Joshua grunted as he got up.

“Whether you want it or not doesn’t matter when I’m with Cynthia. By then, not only will you be taken care of by me, but I’ll also be your ‘brother–in–law‘,” Matthew replied calmly.

Joshua knew what ‘brother–in–law‘ meant.

While watching TV with Shirley in the afternoon, he occasionally looked at books or his phone. So, when he heard these words, he blurted out, “Cynthia won’t marry you. When I grow up, I’ll marry her.”

“You’re quite ambitious, but unfortunately, you won’t have the chance,” Matthew spoke honestly.

Regardless of the circumstances, he would not let Cynthia be with Joshua again.

So what if Joshua realized his mistakes and changed himself?

Matthew knew there were no second chances; once the opportunity was lost, it was lost.

“I do.” Joshua clenched his fists.

“In that case, why don’t you ask her?” Matthew met his gaze. “See what she says.”

Joshua glanced at him, then turned around and began to walk back. Even though Cynthia did not seem to like him very much, he would become outstanding when he grew up and made Cynthia like him.

Matthew calmly followed behind him.

When the two returned, Cynthia and Shirley were still waiting for them in the living room.

Upon their return, Cynthia asked Joshua, “Does it still hurt?”

Joshua shook his head. “No.”

Cynthia felt slightly relieved.

“Cynthia.” Joshua’s hand clenched, appearing nervous.

Cynthia sensed his hesitation and asked, “What’s wrong?”

“After I grow up, can I marry you?” Joshua stared at Cynthia unwaveringly, filled with caution and hope.

Cynthia hesitated and instinctively glanced at Matthew.

What did they talk about?

“You’re already an adult. You’ve just turned into a child because you got hurt,” Cynthia replied.

Joshua found her explanation vague and continued asking, “So, can I marry you once I’m healed?”

“No!” Shirley interjected.

“Why?” Joshua asked.

“Because…” Shirley began.

‘Because marriage requires mutual affection. You don’t understand this kind of feeling right now, but you will once you’re healed,” Cynthia interrupted Shirley, opting for a gentler approach.

Joshua listened with confusion, not fully grasping the meaning. However, he understood one thing– Cynthia did not give a direct answer, which meant she did not like him.

With these thoughts in mind, Joshua felt a heavy and strange sensation spreading in his chest, causing him discomfort.

“In that case, will you be with him and let him become my brother–in–law?” Joshua pointed at Matthew, changing the subject, his gaze filled with sadness as he asked.
