Mr. Neal, Mrs. Neal’s Gone With The Money

Chapter 612

Chapter 612

Matthew knew that his parents would discuss his behavior at length after he ended the call, so he did not bother with further explanations. Regardless of his financial standing, he was, in fact, living off others at present.

With these thoughts in mind, he opened Mrs, Quier’s WhatsApp and sent a message. [I’ll bring her home to meet you during the holidays]

In what felt like the blink of an eye, it was already afternoon. After lunch, Cynthia checked on Joshua’s condition. Finding his fever had completely subsided, she felt greatly relieved.

Joshua, who had not eaten hunch, had been sleeping heavily. Now that his fever had broken, he was starting to feel hungry. Cynthia, I’m hungry,” he mumbled. All rights © NôvelDrama.Org.

“There’s some food saved for you. Get up and eat,” she said.

Captain had specifically left the meal, Cynthia had planned to prepare a simple meal for Joshua once he was better or perhaps order takeout. However, Captain had already left a portion for Joshua, ready to be eaten as soon as he woke up.

As Joshua sat down at the table and eyed the delicious spread of dishes, he immediately knew Matthew had prepared them. After a few meals, he could easily identify Matthew’s culinary style.

“Go ahead and eat, and after you finish, you should apologize to Captain,” Cynthia advised.

Joshua stared at the dishes, a part of him refusing to comply. Eating food prepared by a love rival felt wrong.

“Cynthia.” he began, drawing out his words.

Seeing Joshua’s complexion hadn’t fully recovered, Cynthia softened her tone. “What’s wrong?

“I don’t want to eat this,” Joshua confessed. While Matthew’s cooking was certainly delicious, he preferred food prepared by Cynthia. “I would like some porridge.”

Cynthia paused, her mind involuntarily replaying the Captain’s words from lunchtime. Had he foreseen Joshua’s reaction?

“Cynthia?” Joshua called, noticing Cynthia was lost in thought. He did not want to reveal his preferences more than necessary.

“What kind of porridge would you like?” Cynthia asked, sticking to the advice given by Captain before he left.

After pondering for a moment, Joshua responded. From his observations over the past few days, Cynthia’s cooking skills appeared to be average. Requesting a complex dish might not be practical, so he opted for simplicity. “Plain white rice porridge will do.”

“Alright,” Cynthia agreed, secretly surprised, Captain had even predicted this.

Following lunch, the Captain had briefed her about Joshua’s potential dislike for the meal on the table and had suggested some coping strategies. Now, it seemed like the Captain had an uncanny understanding of joshua

With a bowl of plain rice porridge prepared earlier by Captain in her hand, she walked into the kitchen and then out to serve it to Joshua. Joshua seemed somewhat taken aback, but with the porridge already before him, he felt obliged to eat it obediently. Otherwise, Cynthia might suspect something strange about him.

Twenty minutes later, Joshua had finished eating and was feeling quite satisfied. Although the taste was a bit bland, he was content, knowing Cynthia prepared it.

“Joshua,” Cynthia began, tidying up the bowls and chopsticks after the meal. She suddenly wanted to discuss something with

him

“Yes, Cynthia?” he responded.

“Do you dislike Captain very much?” she asked.

“Dislike him? Of course,” Joshua blurted out. More than that. If he could, he wished the man would just disappear.

“But he’s been very good to you, and he seems to understand you quite well. He even prepared rice porridge for you in

advance today, anticipating that you might not like the dishes left for you,” Cynthia tried to reason with him, almost breaking his spirit with her words.

Joshua could only respond with a puzzled look, “Matthew made it?”
