Chapter 820 I want to be more popular
The assistant came over to celebrate the good news, but Melissa wasn’t so happy, which was to be
expected.
“How is Hayley’s mood?” Melissa continued to ask, flipping through her profile.
“It looks good, but the staff recently said she was playing with a big name.” The assistant also got it
from the grapevine.
After all, this was recommended by Melissa herself, and these variety shows were also the people she
contacted. According to the status of their boss today, these people did not dare to say anything more.
Melissa chuckled and shook his head slightly, “Okay, I see.”
Murray pushed open the door, walked in, looked at her tenderly, and the assistant left.
“You want to support her?” Murray asked. He learned about Hayley via social media.
Melissa rubbed her belly, which had gotten bigger, looked at him, and said, “You think I’m that stupid?”
The two looked at each other and went home together tacitly.
Melissa hadn’t cooked for a long time. The two of them went to the supermarket to buy some
vegetables.
“Are you sure you want to do it yourself?” Murray looked at her apron, rolled up two sleeves, and made
a big deal out of it.
“Do you think I’m joking?” Melissa asked.
Murray threw his hands up and left the kitchen. It didn’t take long before Melissa began calling him from
the kitchen.
“Where’s the soy sauce?
“Do I need to add ginger?”
The questions kept coming.
Murry answered her questions while the servants assisted Melissa. He sat off to the side and watched
quietly. Her busy figure was quite a look of the years.
At this moment, Melissa’s cell phone rang, it was an unfamiliar number. So, Melissa could focus on
cooking, Murray answered the phone for her.
When the person on the other end of the phone heard his voice, his heart skipped a beat. After a long
time, he said, “Is Meli here?”
“What do you want?” Murray’s voice was cold, without a trace of warmth.
“I’m Hayley, Meli’s newly signed entertainer. I want to discuss something with her,” Hayley responded.
“You can come by and ask her yourself. Have a driver bring you,” Murray instructed and hung up the
phone. The driver would take a roundabout way to get to their home, so Hayley would not know how to
get back.
Melissa came out of the kitchen in a hurry, his head was full of sweat, his hands were stained with
things, and he looked very embarrassed.
“All done?” Murray asked, hugging her dotingly.
Melissa pushed him away subconsciously and complained, “I’m so dirty.”
“So what? I like you dirty,” Murray teased earning a kiss from Melissa.
“I’m going to take a shower,” Melissa said.
“I will go with you.”
“Hayley came in a while and I didn’t give her the address of the home, do you think she’d be able to
find it?” Murray asked casually.
Melissa turned around and responded with a smile, “She can’t, Adela can.”
An hour later, Hayley appeared at the gate, and a housekeeper led her to the living room.
Melissa was already waiting for her while Murray was preparing plates in the kitchen.
Hayley looked at her somewhat reservedly and said, “Meli.”
Melissa casually pointed to a corner of the sofa. Hayley sat down and Melissa asked, “How can I help
you Hayley?”
“I want to be more popular,” Hayley stated plainly without regard.
Melissa looked at her thoughtfully and then responded, “Aren’t you popular enough now? No one can
be as popular as an A-list star in a week.”
“That’s not enough. I want to be known to everyone, like you,” Hayley explained.
“There are only so many resources I can give you. I have only one requirement for my entertainers and
that is to be realistic with their expectations. If you want to be even more popular, you must rely on your
own abilities, rather than being packaged by others,” Melissa stated.
“I understand,” Hayley said.
At this moment, Murray came out of the kitchen dish after dish. Hayley sat there in surprise as she
watched Murray.
“Is this Mr. Gibson from the famous Gibson Corporation group?
Why is he cooking?” Hayley asked. Melissa caught her tone, knowing that Hayley was judging her for
not being the one cooking in the kitchen.
“Why not?” Melissa stepped forward and helped Murray take off his apron. “It’s hard work,” whispered
in his ear.
“Well, cooking is a woman’s job. Why would you want a man to cook? Men aren’t supposed to cook,”
Hayley added as she stared at Melissa and Murray in annoyance.
Melissa rolled her eyes at Hayley’s statement. It was very 1940s of her. “Little girl, tell me what you
know of what a husband and wife do in their home. We wanted to invite you to stay for dinner, but now
it seems that there is no need,” Melissa stated politely. Hayley quickly explained, “I didn’t mean that, I
was just a little envious, Meli.”
Melissa smirked with her smiling face and glanced at her, “Okay, I get it.”
Hayley’s attention was fixed on Murray, and this did not go unnoticed by Melissa.
“Meli, I want to stay for dinner,” Hayley demanded and sat directly in her seat.
Melissa took a sip of wine and inquired, “Don’t you still have variety shows?
“No, I do not,” Hayley responded. She picked up a fork and was getting ready to eat when Murray
stopped her. He pulled her chair back and away from the table. “What do you think you’re doing?” “I’m
sorry. I think you misunderstand. You can’t demand things or invite yourself to someone else’s dinner,”
Murray stated, “This food is specifically for my wife.”
“Well, I’ve already started eating…” Hayley stated smugly.
Murray picked up the fork she used, the plate she ate from, and dumped it in the trash. Hayley glared
and stood up.
And the chair she made and the fork she just used, Murray threw it all away in front of her, leaving none
of it.
“Since you want to embarrass me like this, Melissa, I will make you pay for it,” Hayley declared before
leaving. She waited for the driver to drive her back to her car.
Once she got there, she went to another villa. From the outside, it looked like no one lived there for
quite a long time. Hayley walked in and the light turned on at one due to motion sensors. “This place is NôvelDrama.Org © 2024.
