My Aloof Sisters Asked for My Forgiveness

[Clara has provoked someone terrifying!]

That was another text his father had sent him.

A storm of thoughts swirled in Michael’s mind.

He could not imagine what kind of people could have such power. Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.

He frowned and glanced at Dustin before he scoffed.

Him?

Dustin was nobody. He was not even worth mentioning!

There was no way that it could be him!

While the wealthy heirs anxiously fidgeted, Clara stood on the stage and felt deeply disappointed.

She did not understand why no one was bidding for her work…

It would be good enough even if just one person could stand up and break the awkward silence.

“This is Miss Clara’s finest work. It’s highly valuable for collection. Is there nobody who feels tempted to bid on it?” asked the host on the stage, but no one spoke up.

The whole atmosphere became even more awkward.

Clara made up her mind.

She whispered something to the host.

“The person who purchases Miss Clara’s paintings today at a high price will have the opportunity to have dinner with her!” shouted the host in enthusiasm.

Dustin smiled mockingly.

Clara was arrogant and prideful. She would not have lowered herself like that in the past.

She was clearly so desperate that she had put away her dignity to salvage the situation.

The wealthy heirs who were obsessed with Clara’s beauty were clearly tempted, and they looked conflicted.

They did not dare to bid…

They would have to give up everything just to have dinner with Clara!

Nobody was foolish enough to do that.

So, the room remained silent.

Clara bit her bottom lip so hard that it nearly bled.

Even after she had done that, nobody stepped forward to support her.

She felt utterly humiliated.

The humiliation sank into her heart and choked her with anger.

“Someone has raised a bid!” shouted the host suddenly

Clara’s spirit was lifted immediately, and she looked over with gratitude.

But her face froze when she saw who it was.

The person who had raised the bid was none other than the person she despised the most.

It was Dustin…

Clara’s heart sank.

Was this not adding insult to her injury?

“Sir, how much are you willing to bid?” The host was oblivious to the situation.

Dustin smiled faintly and raised a finger.

“One million dollars?”

“One dollar.”

“What? One dollar?” The host’s face stiffened.

Clara’s face turned red in fury.

He was clearly humiliating her!

She set no minimum price for her work, so Dustin’s bid of one dollar was valid.

The room fell silent.

The host had no choice but to proceed.

“This gentleman has bid one dollar. Are there any higher bids?” he shouted.

He called out three times, but no one responded.

“If no one else bids, Miss Clara’s work will go to this gentleman!” The host sighed helplessly.

“One dollar! Going once. Going Twice. Going thrice! Sold!”

With the sound of the gavel, Dustin purchased Clara’s famous painting for just a dollar.

When the painting was brought to Dustin, Clara’s face darkened.

“This painting can be hung in the bathroom for decoration, I guess,” said Dustin with a raised eyebrow. As for the dinner, I think I’ll pass. I already have someone by my side, so I don’t need Miss Clara’s company.”

He chuckled mockingly.

Clara’s chest heaved, and her entire being was filled with fury and shame.

She could no longer hold it in!

She collapsed backward.

“Miss Clara has fainted! Call an ambulance!”
