Chapter 44 Duplicity
Chapter 44 Duplicity
When Mr. Ted talked to Renee, his tone was gentle, but in the end, it was harsher. She looked at Carol and nodded, "okay." now she finally realized that Mr. Ted didn't like Windy's sister very much!
Of course, Carol also knew that the last sentence of Ted was aimed at her. Although she was very unhappy, she endured it and said nothing.
The most awkward person was undoubtedly Shawn. His wife and the woman he loved were sisters, but they made so many troubles because of him. No wonder Mr. Ted would teach him a lesson.
Although the disturbance had calmed down, Shawn was full of doubts. Just now, Mr. Ted didn't finish his words, so he didn't know what he would say next. But his grandfather said that he had been looking for someone, which confused him the most. Who was he looking for? Why didn't he know at all?
Shawn looked at Windy indifferently. He looked at her so that he forgot to pick up food for dinner. He thought that she must know what his grandfather meant by saying that and what he hadn't finished.
He could only ask Windy about it after they went home.
The sleeping ground was quiet and gentle, and the Yu's manor in the moonlight was gorgeous and bright.
The door of the master bedroom on the two floor was tightly closed.
After taking a shower, Windy came out of the bathroom and saw Shawn lying on the bed. It seemed that he was not asleep, but closed his eyes for rest.
Windy ignored him, went straight to the dresser, took out the hair dryer and blew her hair. Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.
About ten minutes later, Windy put away the hair dryer, turned off the light and lay on the sofa, ready to sleep.
This was her life with Shawn. They lived in the same room, taking a shower separately, doing their own things, and sleeping on different beds. They had not even a basic conversation.
She didn't know how many nights had passed. Just like now, Windy silently shed tears before she fell asleep. She felt wronged, but she had no choice. After all, it was her own choice to marry Shawn. No matter how difficult it was, she had to be strong.
"Windy." In the darkness, Windy suddenly heard Shawn call her.
After a long time, Windy calmed down and replied with difficulty, "What's wrong?"
Shawn frowned. He didn't know if he had misheard. He seemed to feel that Windy's voice was a little hoarse, as if she had just cried.
Perhaps he heard it wrong, Shawn thought so and said, "You must know what grandpa said and what he hasn't finished in the Imperial Feast today, right?"
Shawn had wanted to ask Windy this question for a long time, but he didn't have the chance. When he thought of it again, he asked her.
For a moment, Windy didn't remember what Shawn meant. It only took her a moment to understand his question, but she didn't want to answer it, so she asked him deliberately, "what do you mean?"
How dare she hide it from him!
Shawn was a little angry, but he didn't lose his temper. He suddenly sat up from the bed and strode to the sofa, looking down at Windy who was lying on the sofa.
Although the room was a little dark, through the moonlight shining in through the window, Windy still saw clearly that Shawn was staring at her, and she strongly felt its anger. But she just lay quietly and did not pay any attention to it.
Seeing that she could still sleep in such a calm way, Shawn was even more annoyed. He bent over and picked up Windy from the sofa at once.
"Shawn, what are you doing? Put me down!" Windy was shocked by his strange behavior. She didn't know what he would do to her later.
When Windy saw the handsome face of Shawn approaching her, she felt a little cold. Then a cold smile appeared on his lips. He said, "Let me put you down. You still hold me so tightly. You don't mean it, do you?"
Hearing this, Windy lowered her head and took a look. Her arm was hanging around the neck of Shawn and she held it tightly. Her face flushed and she pursed her lips tightly. She couldn't say a word, and her arm was either put down or not, which made her feel embarrassed.
Shawn put Windy on the bed and sat down with her. He said, "Windy, don't play dumb with me. I don't believe you have forgotten what grandpa said at the banquet in the Imperial Feast."
"You'd better be honest and tell me everything clearly." Shawn threatened.
Windy kept silent for a long time and didn't say a word. In fact, sometimes when she was too angry with him, she also wanted to tell him the truth. She wanted to tell him that she was the little girl in the welfare house eighteen years ago and that he had always mistaken her for someone else.
But sometimes she thought about it carefully. Even if she told him all these, what was the difference? Would he believe it?
Even if he would believe her, would he let go of her sister and come back to her after knowing the truth?
Maybe he would, but Windy disdained to persuade a man to stay in this way. What she wanted was that he would love her wholeheartedly, so even if he mistook Carol for her, so what? What could it mean now?
Was his love really because of Windy when he was a child?
Shawn, whether you love Windy when you were a child or Carol now, at least you are still with Windy. She still has a chance to win back your love. That's enough for her.
Thinking of this, Windy decided not to escape, so she looked into his eyes and asked, "Do you really want to know what grandpa means by saying that? Do you really want to know what grandpa is going to say? Even if it will affect your future relationship with my sister, do you still want to know? "
Windy didn't know why she asked the last question. Maybe she wanted to test this man to see how important his sister was to him?
