Chapter 401 Growing Up Too Quickly
Chapter 401 Growing Up Too Quickly
Roe reacted quickly and looked at the kind middle-aged woman obediently. He answered in a nervous
voice, "Hello, grandma!"
"Oh, you're so well-behaved." Mrs. Lucia hugged Roe immediately and beamed with joy.
William rubbed his head and made a gesture to Alex. Alex nodded and pointed at his phone.
Then he strode away,
Seeing his mother love his son so much and hug him tightly, William finally said, "Mom, you have been
on the flight for a long time. Why not just go inside and have a rest."
"Ok. How about my deer grandson shows me the way?" Mrs. Lucia didn't even look at William,
Roe glanced at his bewildered mother and dad, nodding, and held Mrs. Lucia's hands to get inside.
Vivian walked in the last among them with an unsettled expression. Suddenly, William moved his hand
and held Vivian's hand. He whispered in a voice that could only be heard by them to comfort her,
"Relax. Just take it easy."
The comfort was a release for Vivian at this point.
Vivian sighed with relief and then took a deep breath. Her eyes became firm when seeing Mrs. Lucia's
figure.
When Mrs. Lucia brought Roe to sit on the sofa, the nanny made the scented tea instantly.
Vivian lowered her eyes and served her a cup of tea.
William said, "Mother, have a try. Vivian prepared this tea before you arrived. Try if it's the same taste
as you drank before."
Hearing this, Mrs. Lucia looked at William and then Vivian.
Vivian was pretty with gentle eyes and a good figure.
Mrs. Lucia was pleased about the native intelligence in her eyes.
Her first impression about Vivian was great.
She took Vivian's glass and drank it with a smile. She put down the glass and answered, "It's very kind
of you."
Vivian finally relaxed upon hearing this.
"I'm glad you like it." Vivian nodded with a smile.
However, Vivian still felt a little uneasy.
She really didn't know who prepared this scented tea.
"Your name is Vivian, right?" Mrs. Lucia looked Vivian up and down. However, her gaze was not
annoying, instead, it was full of kindness and love, which comforted Vivian a lot.
William's eyes became sharp, and changed his lazy posture and straightened.
People who got in touch with the Lu Family knew that Mrs. Lucia was mild and amiable to others. Her
gaze wouldn't make others have an aversion or feel despised.
However, William knew that his mother was good at hiding her emotions. She treated others in the
same way. If she got mad at someone, it meant she released her true feelings.
William understood his mother truly loved Roe, however, as for Vivian, it was just her normal reaction
towards strangers,
Vivian nodded slightly. Her hands shrank without trace and answered, "Yes, my name is Vivian."
"That's a good name and you looks pretty young. If William hasn’t told me your age, I can't tell from
your look that you already have a child." Mrs. Lucia said while touching Roe's head and turned her
eyes.
Vivian's heart fluttered.
William replied, "Vivian is similar with you, a nature beauty. You both look younger than your age. When
I hang out with you, people might think you are my sister rather than my mum."
"That means you look old. You are not even 30 but looks like 40." Mrs. Lucia glanced at William and
quickly moved her eyes in despise.
"Well, you are not happy about my compliment," William said.
Vivian almost laughed out.
"I just graduated from university when I was pregnant. Maybe it's because I am young and my body
recovers fast." Vivian raised her head and explained.
William was going to avoid this topic, but his mother mentioned it again.
Mrs. Lucia watched Vivian seriously for several times.
There was no doubt that she wanted to test Vivian by saying these words. However, she never thought
that Vivian would answer it explicitly.
Mrs. Lucia felt well-disposed towards her.
Hence, she didn't further make her embarrassed.
"It's good for you to deliver baby at such a young age. I can take care of Roe if I can walk around by
myself. If I wait until William finds another girl, there is little chance that I can have a grandson." Mrs.
Lucia clapped with a smile.
William said, "We haven't seen each other for a long time. Why are you saying this? Your grandson is
right in front of you. You can visit him anytime."
"Nasty guy!" Mrs. Lucia starred at him when grabbing two boxes from her bag beside her.
"Vivian, this is my first time to see you. I'm not well-prepared. Here are the presents for you and Roe.
Just take it. And I will bring you other good stuff next time I see you."
Roe didn't know whether to accept this gift or not. He looked at his father and then his mother.
Vivian shook, "Thanks, aunt. But I…"
"This is a gift from my mother, just take it." William interrupted her.
Roe curled his lip and accepted the gift.
Mrs. Lucia didn’t say anything to Vivian, but looked excitedly to Roe, "Roe, open it. Do you like my
gift?"
"Ok." Roe answered and opened that green box.
There was a necklace in the box. It was made of white jade in a fine gloss, engraving with exquisite
image of a vivid dragon.
Vivian knew it worth a great deal.
"Aunt, this is just too precious. Roe can't take it." Vivian wrinkled and almost stood up.
Mrs. Lucia was unhappy. She blocked Vivian and said, "This is my gift for my grandson. Roe is in poor
health. This jade can bless him. Besides, we aren’t lack of money."
Vivian wanted to insist, but William hinted her to stop talking.
Roe wanted to return this gift after seeing her mother' expression.
Seeing this, Mrs. Lucia handed over the necklace and put it on Roe's neck with joy, "Roe. This is the
first time I give you something. Do you want to make me sad?"
Mrs. Lucia's eyes were filled with tears and made a grieved look. NôvelDrama.Org holds text © rights.
Roe felt awkward. He was not a child anymore and could tell that his grandmother was pretending to
be sad.
However, considering his grandmother loved him so much the first time they met, Roe shook his head
and accepted this gift.
Vivian couldn't say anything.
"Mother, are you hungry? Vivian has prepared you some dishes. Do you want to have a taste?" William
suggested.
Vivian also smiled, "I know you don’t like the food served on the plane. I have prepared some dishes.
Why not have a try?"
