Chapter 1457 Stand Firm
Daisy fell silent.
Her eyes were heavy with seriousness as she gazed at the man in front of her. His words echoed in her ears, refusing to leave her be.
She didn't deny the man's words, as she felt he was right.
However, this matter wasn't solely her decision. She needed to hear the other party's voice as well.
But Daisy couldn't focus on that right now. Instead, she fixed her gaze on the man and asked, "Are you offering me guidance? Or do you have a better way to make him accept my pursuit? He has a wife; can you make her willingly step aside?"
The man smiled, his triumphant gaze and proud expression almost screaming to Daisy that he could, that he had the means.
His confident reaction captivated Daisy, and she retorted, "If you have a way, just say it. I can tell you have an ulterior motive. Do you need something from me?"
Having grown up in an environment like Tillery's Corporation, Daisy knew all too well how people's hearts worked.
If she couldn't see through even this much, she'd probably be sold out.
Her directness gave the man pause, but he didn't react further. He simply said, "Miss Daisy, you're straightforward. In that case, I won't beat around the bush. My request is simple. If I help you
achieve the marriage and love you desire, will you help me establish my position in Hance City? Is that too much to ask?"
Daisy squinted, her tone indifferent. "What do you mean by 'position'? Hance City isn't under my control, and my abilities are limited."
"Miss Daisy, you misunderstand. I simply need a place to eat and sleep. I won't expect or force you to do anything for me or make any promises."
The man spoke with certainty, but Daisy didn't fully trust him. She just looked at him calmly and said, "I'll consider your proposal, but right now, I need to see your sincerity. How can I know you have the ability?" Content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
The man smirked. "Miss Daisy, trust me. I found my way to you, so naturally, I have some confidence."
Unspoken, Daisy's expression briefly dazed as she absorbed the man's proposition, and then she asked, "Is what you're saying true?"
"Of course!"
Daisy squinted, her eyes gleaming with satisfaction. "If what you say comes true, I'm willing to start a company for you in Hance City. You'll be in charge, and you won't have to worry about anything for the rest of your life."
Daisy simply thought the man was after profit, so she didn't entertain any other thoughts.
Yet the man had read Daisy well. He suggested, "Miss Daisy, I have an idea. We are in an equal partnership and plan to work together long-term, so why don't you show me your intentions in advance?"
"What do you mean? Do you want me to start a company for you now?"
"Of course not. I won't make such an unreasonable demand. Miss Daisy, rest assured, even if we don't collaborate, you should do this."
"Do what?"
"Daisy, don't you want to stay in Hance City long-term? If you only play for a short while and leave, any feelings you develop with Mr. Simpson will fade away. Why not stay with him long-term? That's how feelings can truly last, right?"
The man gave Daisy advice, urging her to act as he desired. Only through that could he accomplish his goal.
Daisy fell silent, her face briefly dazed as she seemed to consider the man's words seriously.
The man didn't say anything further; he simply waited for Daisy to make up her mind.
He calmly sat on the opposite sofa, crossing his legs and sipping a cup of coffee. The mediocre taste wasn't unpleasant; it seemed delightful at the moment.
After a short silence, Daisy finally reacted and spoke, "I understand what you mean. If you're sincere, would you handle it for me? You can choose the location, but my team will take care of it. You can choose your position in the company, but there's one condition: for now, you won't be in charge. Can you do that?"
The man didn't hesitate and nodded. "Of course. Miss Daisy is the boss, and what she says goes."
Daisy was satisfied with his response, and after exchanging contact information, they left the coffee shop.
Back at the hotel, Daisy asked her secretary, "What do you think of that man?"
The secretary thought carefully before responding, "Miss Daisy, I think he's a little cunning. He hasn't been honest with us and seems to have hidden motives."
"So, he's not trustworthy, right?"
"Uh, I would say so."
"I agree, but this time, I want to give him the benefit of the doubt briefly. I won't lose out, but to prevent him from having ulterior motives, I have an idea."
Daisy looked at her secretary, her eyes flashing with a plan.
The secretary was puzzled and asked, "What do you want to do, Miss Daisy?"
"You don't have a boyfriend, do you?" Daisy chuckled, "I want you to get close to him. Only when you're together will he reveal his true intentions, and you can gauge him better."
The secretary hesitated and shook her head, "Miss Daisy, is that appropriate?"
"Why not? This is just part of your job. Don't worry; I'll always have your back. I want you to approach this man to understand his true intentions. I don't believe he only wants to help me win Ayan. Does he really have only one goal in Hance City?"
If this man appeared in front of her, he must have some understanding of her. If so, she wanted to know more about him, to find out if he had other motives and intentions.
