Chapter 1508 Admittance

Camille put away her phone, washed her hands, and then glanced at herself in the mirror to ensure her emotions were in check. She took a deep breath before opening the bathroom door and stepping out. On Ayan's side, he was oblivious to the side story and didn't notice anything amiss. Of course, Camille didn't bring it up either.

After playing chess with the old Simpson until around nine in the evening, the old Simpson was getting ready for bed, urging them to head home early.

Ayan drove back to Franklin Bay from the hospital, with Camille sitting in the passenger seat, silently gazing out the window. Ayan suddenly reached out to hold her hand, asking softly, "Why are you so quiet? Are you tired?"

Camille let out a soft sigh and replied hoarsely, "A bit."

Ayan laughed and coaxed her as if she were a child.

After washing up at home, they rested. Perhaps from the mental exhaustion of playing chess, Ayan slept soundly and didn't notice when Camille suddenly woke up around two in the morning. She had a dream and was still in a state of discomposure.

Frowning deeply, Camille tried not to disturb Ayan, but her inner tension led her to reach for her phone. She just wanted to check her dream, but unexpectedly found a text message.

Similar to what she saw in the old Simpson's hospital room, it was from an unknown number with the message: "I am only kindly reminding you. If you don't believe, then I can't help it." Upon reading the message, Camille, despite her composure, became somewhat agitated.

She replied directly: "You say so much from behind a screen. If you care about me so much, let's meet in person!"

Camille sent a time and location, then turned off her phone.

She was reaching her limit.

Unable to sleep, her face held a silent tension, her expression particularly grim.

She remained silent, her mind still racing, until the sky started to lighten, and she finally felt a trace of drowsiness.

The next day, Camille woke up at nine.

Ayan had already gone to the company, but Kian was waiting for her in the lobby.

Seeing her come downstairs, Kian spoke, "Madam, Mr. Simpson asked me to escort you to Armstrong Corp."

Camille nodded lightly. She had a simple breakfast and then set off with Kian to Armstrong Corp.

Unable to contain herself, she asked, "Did he drive to the office himself?"

"Yes, Mr. Simpson asked me to accompany you to Armstrong Corp today to handle matters. There's been some fuss online about Armstrong Corp, with many speculating that you want to take over the company and oust all the shareholders."

Kian explained what had been seen online to Camille, who found it somewhat amusing.

"Perhaps my plan is working, but it's for the best. It prevents those people from taking my words lightly."

Since yesterday, the shareholders of

Armstrong Corp had been in a state

of anxiety and unrest. They dared not speak too much to those they were close with, and those with already distant relationships had no interaction at all.

With ongoing speculation online, some were deceptively led to believe that Camille's motives behind taking over Armstrong Corp was to root out traitors and stabilize the company. Consequently, they too began to

suspect each other.

When Camille arrived at the company, the shareholders were already quarreling in the meeting room.

Camille pretended not to have heard and went straight to Horace's office.

She was there to show her presence and let both Armstrong Corp and the outside world know she was there. As for everything else, she didn't want to get involved.

Horace's secretary didn't bring her much work, just some insignificant files to look over. She also briefed Camille on what had happened that day and asked, "Do you want to meet with them?"

"No need. Let them argue. If they want to see me, I'll only meet with those who have solid evidence. Camille said indifferently, then picked up the tablet Horace's secretary had brought her and started watching

TV.

For Kian, these had been the most relaxed and leisurely days since he became Ayan's secretary, as there wasn't much for him to do besides being Camille's bodyguard.

While Camille watched TV, Kian didn't remain idle. He sat on the sofa, sipping tea.

In contrast, the atmosphere in the meeting room was much more heated.

The shareholders had already split into two factions and were now even more dissatisfied with each other due to the current situation, leading to a morning of argument and repetition.

It was all about finding the traitor within, as everyone was concerned about being implicated.

The most influential person normally accused, "Whoever has betrayed Armstrong Corp, step forward. Isn't it more admirable to confess, rather than dragging everyone into this mess?" "Yes, whoever did it, admit it. Don't make us pay for your mistake. Just admit it. If this continues, and evidence is found, everyone will suffer."

The exchange had been repetitive all morning, with nothing really hitting home and no one willing to admit anything.

It was just continuous arguing, with no one willing to back down, as doing so would mean they were the traitor.

After watching a movie, Camille

checked the time. It was still half an

hour until lunch, and although she

hadn't eaten much for breakfast, she

wasn't particularly hungry. She pursed her lips thoughtfully and

asked Kian, "What are we going toContent is property of NôvelDrama.Org.

do next?"

Kian immediately got up and walked to the desk, asking, "Feeling bored, Madam?"

"A bit. I have something to take care of this afternoon, so I want to finish things at Armstrong Corp as soon as possible."

Glancing at the time, Kian remarked, "If there really is a traitor, they should have already spread the news by now."
