Chapter 657 The Old Resentments

After Aniston spoke, Robert looked down at her.

The two looked at each other, and Aniston pinched Robert's fingertips.

Robert was stunned. His heart missed a beat and seemed to be scratched by something.

On the other side, Colin rubbed the wine glass and said, "Is Mrs. Carter still alive?"

Maxwell leaned against the seat to smoke. The cigarette butt was already bitten flat by him. "Yes. She's

in the nursing home."

Colin said, "You've done many things to get Mrs. Carter out of the nursing home, haven't you?"

Maxwell did not deny it, "My mother has endured all disgrace and insults for so many years because of

me."

Colin picked up the wine glass and chinked glasses with Maxwell. Colin said, "You'll definitely

succeed."

Maxwell looked at Colin and said with a smile, "All thanks to your lucky words."

If it weren't for the drinking with Maxwell today, Colin would probably never have known about the

resentments between Maxwell and Brandon.

More than 20 years ago, Brandon was disfigured by a fire. Fortunately, some subordinates rescued him

and found someone similar in size to Brandon to replace him, so he escaped.

Brandon had a narrow escape. The first thing he did was to leave Cocanel, and the second thing was

to ask his subordinates to find a helpless girl and get her pregnant.

Maxwell said that Brandon did that because Brandon was worried that he would not be able to take

revenge in his lifetime, and Brandon wanted his offspring to take revenge for him.

Maxwell's mother was the helpless and innocent victim.

It was said that Maxwell's mother wanted to commit suicide more than once until she had Maxwell.

Maxwell's mother was an orphan, and Maxwell made her feel that she had hope in her dark life.

After speaking, Maxwell gulped the wine and continued to say, "Do you know why I disobeyed

Brandon's order to save Faye?"

Colin raised his eyebrows lightly and asked, "Why?"

Maxwell smiled and said, "Don't worry. She is not my type. It's just that she is very similar to my mother

in some ways, but my mother is not as capable as her."

Then Maxwell paused and said, "In other words, I want my mother to live like Faye."

Colin tapped the wine glass and suddenly changed the subject, "Did the fire have anything to do with

Faye's mother?"

Colin changed the subject so quickly that Maxwell was stunned for a while. Maxwell responded, "Yes."

Colin said, "No matter how scheming people are, they can't avoid their feelings." Upstodatee from Novel(D)ra/m/a.O(r)g

Maxwell drank casually and said, "Not always."

Colin teased, "What?"

Maxwell chuckled, "I'll never love anyone in my life."

It was already afternoon when Colin and Maxwell came out of Taste Elements.

They could hold their liquor, so no one lost their temper.

Maxwell's subordinate had been waiting outside the gate for a long time. When the subordinate saw

Maxwell go out, he hurriedly stepped forward to support Maxwell.

Maxwell waved his hand and threw his suit jacket to the subordinate. Maxwell said, "I'm not drunk.

Don't be ridiculous in front of Mr. Farrell."

The subordinate smiled and repeated, "Yes. You're not drunk."

Then the subordinate smiled apologetically at Colin.

Colin said with a small smile, "Be careful, don't be assassinated."

Maxwell sneered, "Don't jinx me!"

Colin said, "The truth always sucks."

Watching Maxwell leave, Colin took out his phone and called Andy.

When the phone was connected, Colin said in a deep voice, "Drive over here."

Then Colin hung up the phone.

After a while, Andy drove to the gate of Taste Elements.

Andy got out of the car and opened the car door for Colin. Andy said, "Mr. Farrell."

Colin took several steps forward and got into the car. He pinched his eyebrows and asked, "Has Robert

returned to the company?"
