After finishing his words, Hector turned his head to Violet and nodded indifferently. Then he strode
away.
Ethan's back was straight. When Hector was gone, Ethan looked down at the ground and said nothing.
Violet watched Hector enter the box and turned to look at Ethan.
Ethan, an original domineering man, now looked low-key and introverted. Further analysis showed that
he felt wronged but he did not say it out.
Hector's temper was unknown to others, but Violet knew it.
Hector knew that Ethan liked Violet, but he didn't agree with them together, so he certainly would make
Ethan look bad.
Violet's heart suddenly tightened. She compressed her lips and then said, "Brother...Ethan."
Ethan raised his eyes. There was a faint smile played on his lips. "Let's go."
With that, Ethan stepped forward. When he reached Violet, he deliberately stopped and reached out.
He wanted to pat her on the shoulder. But his hand paused in the air and he pulled it back. "I'm fine,"
he said in a steady voice.
"Ethan, if my dad says something to you, don't take it to heart."
"Okay."
Violet frowned. "My dad does that to everyone. He's not targeting you specifically."
Ethan responded, "I see."
Then Ethan smiled at Violet and motioned for her to go back to the box together.
Looking at Ethan's impassive face, Violet wanted to say something. But she was worried that the more
she explained, the worse the situation would be. So she didn't end up saying anything.
A few minutes later, they went back into the box together.
In the box, Saylor was introducing Colin to the places to go around.
Colin had had two glasses of wine. He echoed Saylor as he played with Faye's fingertips under the
table.
When Ethan and Violet entered, the three in the box all had tacit understanding and no one spoke out
of turn.
Saylor was chattering away when the phone in front of him vibrated twice.
He looked down. It was a text from his girlfriend-to-be, who made out with a man in the hall. "I thought I
saw you just now. I don't know if I was looking at the wrong guy."
Two short sentences.
But it could be imagined that the girl had weighed it out for a while.
The corners of Saylor's mouth twitched. He took the phone, then looked down and sent the girl a
message. "It's me. You're right."
His text went unanswered for a long time. About five minutes later, the girl replied tentatively. "Did you
see me?"
Saylor, "Yes, I did."
After replying, he felt his answer was not accurate enough. Then he added, "I saw you kissing another
man."
After texting, he leaned back and waited for the girl to give him an explanation.
He waited for a long time, but did not receive a reply from the girl.
He was ready to criticize the girl from the highest point of morality, but he didn't receive her reply. His
fingertips clicked on the screen and sent a question mark. This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - ©.
Unexpectedly, as soon as he sent the question mark, he was canceled by the girl.
Saylor was speechless.
Although they didn't have a strong relationship, both have expressed a desire to take their relationship
to the next level. Under the circumstances, he'd be lying if he said he wasn't a wimp.
But being a toff, he didn't show his displeasure. He adjusted his mood a little, put the phone in his
pocket, and continued to talk and laugh with Colin beside him.
They ate the meal for almost two hours. It was evening when they came out after paying their bills.
Saylor drove them to the hotel and settled them in. He slid up to Violet and said, "Violet, a man comes
this far for you, and you remain indifferent?"
"Don't you think I'll forget you have a mouth if you don't use it all the time?"
Saylor curled his lips. "You're stone cold."
Violet glared at Saylor. "I still have a bone to pick with you."
Hearing her words, Saylor stood a little farther away from her. He touched the tip of his nose, looked up
at the roof, and hummed a tune no one could understand, "La la la..."
