Hank wondered why Natalie was bothered by the idea of breaking into the entertainment industry. She could have everything anyone could dream of if she simply married Austin.

If she ever felt like acting, she could have an Oscar–winning actor by her side, guiding her through scenes. On top of that, she would have the man himself–sharing her life and her bed. It was the kind of life most people could only fantasize about, and all Natalie had to do was to marry Austin and make it a reality.

Natalie thought about the barbecue she had enjoyed so much earlier and frowned. “I could do everything else, but if I can’t eat, I can’t handle it. I’ll think it over again.”

Listening to Natalie’s tipsy musings, Skylar shook her head with a laugh. “You’re such a foodie.”

“Haha! Skye, we’re both foodies.”

Austin had always had a strong tolerance for alcohol, and the amount of red wine he drank was nothing for him. When Natalie complimented his acting and said he could get into character quickly with her, he couldn’t help but smile.

If it was a romantic scene, she could indeed get him into character fast. And he would be completely sincere. No one else could do that.

Skylar glanced over at Austin. He was gazing down, his expression thoughtful.

“You must have seen it wrong. Mr. Powell’s in a great mood today,” she said to Natalie.

Natalie mumbled drunkenly, “Did I see that wrong? I really need to drink less in the future. My eyes aren’t working properly.”

She realized she might have seen it wrong. Since everyone had such a great time eating barbecue and singing, it was hard to believe that Austin was suddenly in a bad mood.

Later that night, Skylar and Natalie shared a room and slept in the same bed. It was like being back in college.

Skylar went to take a shower first. After she finished, Natalie went in to bathe.

As Natalie was in the shower, Skylar glanced at her phone and checked her WhatsApp messages. Her chat with Joe had not been updated for two hours.

She had sent him a picture of the barbecue, but he hadn’t replied. She wondered if he was still busy. She also checked her Instagram. She had just posted a few pictures from today. Just as her post had gone live and she was about to exit Instagram, she suddenly saw a new post from Vera.

Vera looked radiant on her balcony, and a gentle breeze and lights cast a glow on her face. The view from
