My Formidable Husband

Chapter 62

Chapter 62

Chapter 62 Babysitting

Fabio freaked out completely. After all, he might become a cripple if the thugs continued beating him

up. He shouted, “Christopher, my brother-in-law, I was wrong. Please let me go for the sake of my

grandfather!”

He looked at Christopher with tears brimming in his eyes.

At the mention of Reginald, Christopher waved his hand and said, “Let him go.”

If it weren’t for Reginald, he wouldn’t have let Fabio off that easily.

“If there’s nothing else, Mr. Yaeger, we’ll make our move first,” Stanley informed respectfully.

“All right.” Christopher waved at them.

Stanley bowed at him again, then ordered his men to carry Grant before hopping into the van as fast as

his legs could carry.

Once they left, Christopher squatted down and glanced at Fabio, whose face was awash with tears.

Looking at Christopher with fear, Fabio dared not speak a word despite all the hatred in his heart.

Christopher wiped away the tears on Fabio’s face and said indifferently, “Fabio, if you dare to do it one

more time, you know the consequences.”

With that, he left for the bus station in front without sparing Fabio a glance. Gazing at Christopher’s

retreating figure, Fabio finally dared to murmur, “This is not the end, Christopher.”

At the top of the hill at Globetrotter Winery, Christopher was sitting on the couch, looking at the

commercial street contracts before him.

Diane was standing beside him as she waited for his order. After browsing through the documents,

Christopher smiled and said, “I didn’t know Centurion Corporation has properties in the gray market,

Ms. Reed.”

“The company is too large, Mr. Yaeger. Some things are inconvenient for us to deal with,” Diane

explained immediately.

Christopher went through the pages again and nodded. “Don’t worry, Ms. Reed. I know what you mean.

Do what you think is right. There shouldn’t be a problem.”

Hearing that, Diane hummed in response. Then, just as she was about to give Christopher the other

contracts, his phone rang—it was a call from Julianna. He quickly pointed at his phone and said, “It’s

my wife. Don’t make a sound, Ms. Reed.”

Diane nodded her head firmly, and only then did Christopher pick up the phone. Julianna’s urgent voice

sounded over the phone. “My family and I are going outstation on a business trip. I won’t be back

tonight.”

“What’s the hurry?” Christopher asked in surprise.

“We just signed a deal with Centurion Corporation, didn’t we? And now an excellent company in

another city wants to work with us. That’s why we have to rush there to do a market survey,” Julianna

replied.

Christopher murmured a response, and Julianna continued, “By the way, my aunt has a last-minute

business trip. She phoned me after arriving at the airport, saying that her daughter was still at school.

Can you fetch her daughter and bring her for a meal?”

“No problem. Send me the name of her school and her photo,” Christopher agreed without the slightest

hesitation.

Julianna continued telling him about the situation of her aunt’s daughter. After learning the whole story,

Christopher felt a little helpless.

Her aunt’s husband had suffered a loss in his business last year and had approached Fabian to borrow

some money. However, the latter had refused to help. In the end, her husband had taken his own life

by jumping off a building because of the unbearable pressure from his debtors.

Since then, her aunt had decided to cut ties with Fabian and the Murrays and raise her daughter

independently.

Christopher gave her his word at once. “All right. I will go now. Drive safely.”

After hanging up the phone, he said to Diane, “Could you drive me to Jadeborough Elementary School,

Ms. Reed?”

“Okay,” Diane replied, and with that, they headed downstairs together. In no time, her Mercedes-Benz

arrived at the entrance of Jadeborough Elementary School. Christopher thanked her and hurried to the

office.

A skinny little girl with a ponytail was sitting in the office, and she was looking outside the room timidly.

Christopher walked over and said softly, “Nice to meet you, Erisa. I’m Christopher, Julianna’s husband.

She asked me to pick you up.”

Then he phoned Julianna so that Erisa Shurye could talk to her over the phone.

After they were done talking, Erisa asked, “I thought you were missing, Christopher.”

“I joined the army, and I’m back now. Come on, let’s get you something to eat.” Christopher smiled.

“All right!” Erisa exclaimed in delight.

Christopher brought her to Jadeborough International Square.

Erisa stared at the popcorns not far from her while licking a lollipop. She wanted to have a bite of it but

did not dare to tell Christopher.

Seeing that, Christopher smiled and said, “Stay right here. I’ll get in line to buy you some popcorns.” ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .

“Okay! I’ll behave myself.” Erisa nodded her head joyfully.

Christopher ran over to join the queue. However, after paying for the popcorn, he heard a smack and a

woman’s angry voice. “Whose child is this? She dirtied my new dress! Where are your parents? Get

them to see me!”

Inexplicable waves of anxiousness washed over Christopher at once. He turned around and saw Erisa

covering her face as tears began welling up in her eyes. The sight of it made his fury spring to life.
