Chapter 912
Chapter 912
About half an hour later, the car stopped in a parking lot.
Bradley and Gavin boarded a shuttle that took them to an office.
As soon as they entered, Bradley caught a strong whiff of disinfectant, triggering a memory of having
smelled it somewhere before.
"Mr. Warner, have you made your decision? Are you sure you want to go through this door?" Gavin
stood by a stainless-steel door, his voice serious and cautious. "If you have second thoughts now, it's
not too late."
Bradley positioned himself in front of the electronic door, which opened slowly. He stepped out quickly
and looked up to behold a colossal glass dome. Countless koi fish swam joyfully in a glass pond atop
the dome.
"Is this an underground facility?" Bradley asked.
Gavin nodded. "Yes." Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.
"What exactly is this place?"
Gavin remained silent but led Bradley to a conference room with a smile. There, a massive electronic
screen stood inactive.
Bradley felt like someone was observing him from the shadows as he sat at the conference table.
Instinctively, he reached for his phone, only to find it somehow turned off.
"All external electronic devices experience signal interference here and cannot be used."
Bradley asked in a lowered voice, "What is this place?"
"This is Mr. Pendleton's most core business," Gavin answered.
"What specific business?" Bradley pressed on.
Gavin activated the electronic screen, revealing numerous surveillance feeds. "Mr. Warner, Mr.
Pendleton has established his underground kingdom here."
Bradley's heart raced. His eyes were fixed on the screen, which displayed operating rooms and
procedures.
"Mr. Warner, you probably received a business card earlier," Gavin said, surprising Bradley.
Bradley had indeed received a business card at the hospital but hadn't connected that business with
the Pendletons until now.
"Where does your supply come from?"
"Our sources are straightforward. Mr. Pendleton strategically placed his people in various locations,
and their affiliation with him is well hidden," Gavin elaborated.
Bradley grasped the nature of their trade. He just hadn't anticipated Richard to dare such deeds. What
was his motive? With his status and wealth, why...
"When customers have requirements, we do our utmost to serve them."
Bradley was furious as he watched the absurd scenes take place before his eyes. Each person was a
living being. What gave them the right to strip away their right to life?
Gavin didn't provide a detailed explanation but left Bradley to witness everything on the electronic
screen.
"We've collaborated with overseas websites. Customers undergo rigorous selection.
"We trade in kind, such as organs or lives.
"Everyone in this world has something they treasure the most.
"Mr. Warner, what do you treasure most in this world?"
Bradley stared at Gavin, coldly questioning, "What do you mean?"
"Mr. Warner, perhaps I should ask this. Under what circumstances would you take a risk?"
