Chapter 125
Chapter 125
Sonia’s face instantly turned pale as she looked at Helen, stunned. Content held by NôvelDrama.Org.
From the afternoon when she met Helen, she seemed to have mostly ignored her. At first, she thought
it was just because Helen was a little cold. She didn’t expect Helen to act against her at such a time.
But Candice was still here and Sonia wasn’t willing to lose face in front of her, so she forced herself to
smile and said, “I just want to help.”
However, it seemed like Helen had completely ignored how pitiful she was. Instead, Helen raised her
chin slightly and, with a scornful look, gazed on Sonia like she was an object waiting to be appraised.
Sonia almost couldn’t handle it after Helen looked at her like that, but she forced herself to straighten
her back, to receive Helen’s judging gaze.
But she almost couldn’t hold her smile anymore, and all she could do was to quietly call out, “Aunt
Helen…”
“Aunt Helen?” Helen repeated how Sonia addressed her before taking the slip in her hand. With a
snort, she said, “As expected of a lowborn. They just don’t know where the line is.”
The disdain in Helen’s voice was too obvious. The color on Sonia’s face immediately washed away, as
if she had suffered greatly.
Candice didn’t react too much about what had happened. Well, it had little to do with her in the first
place.
With the report in her hand, she went and looked for the doctor.
The doctor read the report and nodded, saying that her grandfather was recovering well. He also told
her a few more things that she had to be aware of..
Only when she came back to the ward did she notice Jackson was back again and was chatting with
her grandpa.
Candice had gotten used to it already since Jackson had been spending a lot of time in the hospital the
past few days.
Joe chatted with him happily because of how scholarly he looked.
When Jackson saw Candice come in, he said with a smile, “Your grandpa recovered well.”
“Yeah.” Candice nodded. She then asked, “When did you come over?”
“I just got here,” Jackson said. He then reminded her, “Marc’s birthday is tonight. He said he sent you a
message, but you didn’t reply, so he asked me to come look.”
Candice gave it a thought and remembered that Marc did tell her about his birthday party.
She nodded. “I forgot about it because I’ve been too busy for the past few days.”
When Joe heard their conversation and knew that she had something going on, he quickly waved his
hand and
said he was tired. He then told Candice to take care of her business.
Without a choice, Candice left together with Jackson after checking his medicine.

Marc’s neighborhood was close to the countryside. It was quite a long drive there.
When they went past a shopping mall, Candice stopped and bought a gift for Marc.
Jackson gave it a look and said, “You really did learn something from Hanley.”
Candice looked at him and asked, “What?”
Jackson looked at the fountain pen in her hand and explained, “Every time Hanley buys a gift for
someone, it’s always a fountain pen, regardless of if it’s a guy or girl.”
The only reason Candice bought a fountain pen was because she was not that familiar with Marc. She
didn‘ know what to buy him. That was why she chose a fountain pen, which would go well with anyone.
But she didn’t think that she would hear about Hanley’s acts. She earnestly said, “Fountain pens are
quite good. They’re very practical.”
By the time they reached the Freeman household, the skies had only just darkened. Marc and a few
others
were preparing their barbecue in the yard.
Candice walked over and gave him the wrapped gift she was holding and said, “Happy birthday.”
Marc didn’t expect Candice to buy him a gift and only reacted after a while.
