Chapter 104
Chapter 104
“Who said I’m drinking?” She turned her hand and took the juice she had just drunk, smiled at Mason and said, “I’ll have juice instead of wine. You don’t mind, do you?”
Mason’s eyes softened slightly. “As you wish.”
Nicolas saw that Liam’s face was not looking good, so he quickly grabbed a glass of wine and handed it to him, laughing. “Drinking is more fun when we all do it together Celeste, let me toast you.”
Celeste looked at Nicolas suspiciously.
She and Nicolas usually didn’t get along well. Liam’s brothers didn’t like her background and always frowned upon her marriage with
Liam.
When Liam was present, they would reluctantly greet her for his sake; if they met her alone outside, they would simply ignore her.
And she didn’t like Liam’s rich friends, especially Nicolas
One of the reasons she didn’t like Nicolas was because of Sydney
Liam and Sydney had kept their relationship a secret, and Sydney had managed to stay unscathed in all those scandals, with Nicolas helping a lot
They usually didn’t see eye to eye, but now Nicolas was enthusiastically toasting her, no wonder she felt uncomfortable.
Sydney watched the group chatting and completely ignoring her, finally becoming restless and asking, “Mr. Francis, is this gentleman a friend of yours?”
Nicolas seemed to just notice her and said in surprise, “What are you doing here?”
Sydney’s mouth twitched. She had been standing there for a long time!
Sydney smiled and said, “Didn’t my agent tell you? I’m here for the chanty performance.”
“Oh, I think I remember now. This is Mr. Fletcher, Nicolas introduced Mason to Sydney. “This is one of my company’s artists, Sydney.” Mason wasn’t very enthusiastic about Sydney, probably because Celeste was there. His introduction was also very perfunctory. When Sydney heard that he was a lawyer, her expression wasn’t as enthusiastic as before.
Mason was still a gentleman, and he reached out to greet her, “Hello, Ms. Denton.”
“Hello, Mr. Fletcher,” Sydney smiled, but her handshake was very perfunctory. She withdrew her hand almost as soon as Mason touched her fingers, as if she was afraid to touch his hand.
Mason paused and looked at Sydney, suddenly saying, “Ms. Denton’s voice in person seems different from the one in the TV series. Sydney felt a little displeased. She had been hotly debated several times because of dubbing issues, so she was very sensitive about it, always feeling that people who brought it up were trying to ridicule her.
“The voices in TV series are processed during post production.”
What it meant was that it’s normal for the sound on TV to be different from the sound in real life.
“Well, yeah,” Mason laughed and said in a friendly way, “Ms Denton, could you please give me an autograph? I really like your work.”
Nicolas was surprised and said, “Who would’ve thought, Mason, you’re into soap operas?”
Mason said seriously, ‘Ms. Denton’s shows are pretty good. You should check them out when you have time, you know, to cultivate your
taste.”
Nicolas twitched his mouth, wondering if he or Mason had gone nuts.
Watching those overly dramatic shows to cultivate taste? What a crazy idea! Ccontent © exclusive by Nô/vel(D)ra/ma.Org.
After seeing the way Nicolas and Mason talked, Sydney guessed that Mason must be more than just a lawyer and immediately changed her attitude.
