Chapter 1268

Morning Light Kindergarten was trending number one for food safety issues.

The kindergarten’s official account had turned into a ticking time bomb. Parents were throwing shade left, right, and center in the comments while the teachers were left speechless.

Silvia, always quick to make a buck, had now vanished into thin air when the shit hit the fan.

No matter how much the parents holler online, she chose to play the ostrich.

While the parents couldn’t find Silvia, they did manage to dig up Helen’s number.

Helen just got wind of the news about the kindergarten canteen and was still reeling.

Silvia didn’t breathe a word to her when the canteen was being investigated!

One minute, she talked with Angel on how to counter Celeste’s next move, and the next, the canteen debacle was trending.

Parents were blowing up her phone like there was no tomorrow, and she was scrambling to find Silvia.

Helen was initially clueless. She picked up a call from a parent only to get an earful.

“You’re a heartless shark! What the hell did you feed my son? People like you, making blood money, don’t you fear karma? Why don’t you drop dead!”

Helen, looking as if she had swallowed a lemon, hung up the phone.

Her phone rang again, another unknown number.

Helen dared not pick up. But the parents were relentless. They bombarded her with texts.

Their messages were filled with vitriol, turning Helen white as a sheet. She switched off her phone, picked up a spare one, and rushed out the door, ignoring her still–recovering postpartum body. Exclusive content © by Nô(v)el/Dr/ama.Org.

She drove her Audi, a remnant from the Campbell family, straight to Morning Light Kindergarten.

Whether she could outwit Celeste was the least of her worries. Now, she could end up behind bars because of Silvia’s harebrained actions!

All the way, Helen was fuming.

When they first started the kindergarten, she suggested hiring a professional principal to manage it.

The principal’s salary would naturally be much higher than the teachers‘, but Silvia was reluctant to shell out the dough and volunteered herself.

She claimed she had experience running a kindergarten for a relative, was familiar with the industry, and said the children were easy to handle as long as they were well–fed and entertained.

She also claimed to have run a restaurant before and could guarantee the children’s meals.

Helen was skeptical and suggested that Silvia trial manage for two months. If it didn’t work out, they would immediately find a new principal.

Silvia agreed.

She performed well during the trial period. The only things that bothered Helen were Silvia’s penny– pinching on ingredients and her insistence on turning off the air conditioning in the summer because she didn’t find it hot.

These two points were red flags for Helen. She believed that if you want to make big money, you can’t skimp on the small things. She thought parents were willing to splurge on their children, and even if

tuition and boarding fees were higher, they shouldn’t give people a chance to find fault.

Silvia verbally agreed to improve and quickly replaced the ingredients with fresh ones.

Helen checked every few days to make sure Silvia wasn’t pulling a fast one behind her back and then let it slide. After marrying Shawn in the latter half of last year, she got caught up with other things and didn’t visit the kindergarten canteen anymore.

Who would have thought that the one place she paid the most attention to would be the one to blow up in their faces?

Silvia, you short–sighted fool! If Helen hadn’t been Ped for cash back then, she wouldn’t have brought this nitwit on board!
