Chapter 95
Chapter 95
Liam pulled Celeste’s wrist, circling her back into his arms, his possessiveness evident.
Celeste furrowed her brow, trying hard to break free from his embrace, but Liam calmly threatened, “Two billion.”
Celeste immediately behaved.
Liam boldly held her waist, the heat from his palm seeping through her clothes, making her feel uncomfortable, as if ants were crawliChapter 95
“Why don’t you go ask your precious little sister?”
Liam looked at her and said, “She told me you’re still holding a grudge about her taking your clothes, and you sneaked off to the bathroom when you had the chance.”
Celeste sneered, “If she already told you, why bother asking me?”
Liam pursed his lips, speaking lightly, “I don’t believe her. I wanna hear what you have to say.”
Celeste was taken aback.
“Would you believe me if I told you Kaylee locked me in the bathroom?”
She didn’t look at Liam when saying this, as she didn’t think he’d believe her, knowing he’d always protective of his sister.
No matter what Kaylee did, Liam always thought she was just an innocent little girl, pure-hearted and without malice.
How could such a “pure” girl do something like locking someone in the bathroom?
She was prepared to be ridiculed by Liam, but instead, he sighed softly. “So how did you get out?”
Celeste was shocked.
Liam was acting strangely today, doing things she couldn’t predict.
She didn’t quite understand him, maybe she never really knew him.
“I climbed out the window.”
Celeste didn’t mention her bathroom rescue, as there was no need. On one hand, she didn’t know the person she saved, and on the other hand, thinking about fishing in the toilet with her bare hands made her feel uncomfortable.
Having this experience once was enough, better not to advertise it.
“Climbed out the window?” Liam was somewhat surprised.
Celeste didn’t notice his expression and nodded, “Yeah, I climbed out, went along the wall to the next room, and Mr. Fletcher happened to be in the bathroom, so he helped me.”
Liam’s face turned serious, and he asked in a low voice, “What was Mason doing in the bathroom?”
Celeste found the question odd, “What else could he be doing? Of course, he was taking a leak.”
Liam asked in a deep voice, “Did you see it?”
“Huh?”
Celeste didn’t react for a moment.
Liam glared at her, “You saw it!”
Celeste was startled back to her senses, her face turning flushed as she glared at him, “No! When I climbed to the next window, he had just come in! What’s with your dirty thoughts?!”
Liam’s anger faded, and he looked closely at her wounds.
There were obvious abrasions on her right wrist, a large patch of blood on her skin, and the torn area had rough, exposed flesh. Normally at home, when peeling an apple and accidentally cutting a bit of skin, even if it didn’t bleed, she would whine. But now, with her wrist like this, she didn’t cry out in pain.
It was the same with the car accident. That night, she had come home with injuries but said nothing. Còntens bel0ngs to Nô(v)elDr/a/ma.Org
She didn’t want to show any more pain to him, or rather, she didn’t want to show her vulnerable side to him.
This realization made Liam feel somewhat lost.
It was hard for him to describe this feeling. He was a person who hated trouble, whether in work or life. The simpler and more straightforward, the better.
But Celeste wasn’t like that.
When they got married, he knew she was a troublesome woman.
Despite having no emotional foundation, she insisted on having a complete wedding and a normal marriage; after the wedding, she voluntarily changed some of his habits, like drinking milk before bed and putting aroma stones in the car.
Her arrival disrupted his long-established habits, sometimes making him feel annoyed.
She would ask if her clothes looked good; if he said they were average, she’d think he was perfunctory; if he said they looked bad, she’d think he had no taste.
