My Stone-Hearted Billionaire Husband

Chapter 50: A Frightening Son-In-Law

“WHERE IS MY WIFE?” Sebastian’s cold voice thundered through the room, his chilling presence sending shivers down their spine.

He was almost furious at this point. But as he glared around the room, searching for any sign of Kourtney, no one dared to meet his gaze or answer his question. It was as if they were all hiding something, afraid of his wrath.

Every one of them seemed to be in a daze. No one was saying anything concerning the whereabouts of his precious wife.

His eyes scanned the crowd with a sense of growing unease.

Despite the Melbourne weather forecasters predicting very delicate weather and advising all flights be canceled, Sebastian had just risked his life and that of his subordinates using his private jet to get here.

Even after several pleas and warnings from his flight team, he had insisted on proceeding with the trip from Sydney, where he had done his Forbes interview. He did not want to disappoint Kourtney, especially when she had taken the initiative to call him last night, complaining about how she was mistreated at the family meeting.NôvelDrama.Org owns this text.

And now that he’d finally made it, he was yet to lay eyes on his Wife, whose thoughts had kept him awake all night.

He was about to lose his last shreds of patience waiting for someone to speak up.

“I ask again, where is my wife, Kourtney? I can’t see her among you. Isn’t this supposed to be a family dinner?” Sebastian thundered again, his voice echoing off the walls of the Allen grand mansion.

Kourtney’s family members and everyone else present looked at each other with bewilderment, their faces turning pale. Sebastian’s piercing blue eyes seemed to bore into their soul, sending shivers down their spine.

The sound of trembling could be heard from the people present, their legs visibly shaking underneath their fancy attire. They knew better than to cross this man!

With every passing moment, the tension inside the villa grew thicker than molasses on a cold winter day. The air was alive with unspoken questions and doubts, each person wondering how they would fare against the formidable man in front of them.

No one even had the guts to say anything, as they were all shell-shocked!

Kourtney’s parents, Margaret and Luke, stood like robots, their faces pale and sweaty and their eyes fixed on the floor as if hoping to avoid any confrontation from this frightening business tycoon who had somehow turned out to become their new son-in-law.

Even Denise Allen, who had a big mouth and was always quick to criticize and degrade Kourtney, seemed to have become dumb and numb. She was having a psychotic episode, having difficulty recognizing if this was real or not!

Kathlyn and Brandon stood there completely baffled and puzzled. Two confused souls who were praying to wake up from this nightmare!

Kathlyn’s face especially was drained of color, and she was almost looking like a corpse.

SEBASTIAN FUCKING WOODS WAS REALLY KOURTNEY’S HUSBAND?

How on earth!!!

Grandma Florence, as well, seemed to have lost all consciousness. Her eyes rolled backward, her lips quivering as she struggled to stay upright. The person this powerful man was asking for had been grounded by her and locked in her bedroom.

What’s worse?

The key to opening the door was held in her very hands, which were trembling at the moment.

It felt like she was 2 seconds away from passing out from the shock!

This was a man who controlled Melbourne City ruthlessly like the tip of his fingers.

This was a man said to be more powerful than the Governor of the entire city himself.

One wrong move and Sebastian Woods could send their whole family packing to the countryside to live like peasants for the rest of their MISERABLE lives.

It was clear that Grandma Florence wasn’t feeling too well, but no one dared to approach her or check on her condition. Instead, they all stared at each other, silently asking themselves why none of them had spoken up yet, but they also didn’t want to risk losing their lives over it.

How could they even start explaining that his wife was currently grounded and being held hostage like a prisoner?

It was absurd!

Just when it seemed like things couldn’t get any more chaotic, and as Sebastian’s anger continued to build, Kourtney’s Aunt Matilda stepped forward, her face flushed with guilt and anxiety, desperately trying to come up with a believable lie.

“Y-Young Master Woods, please listen,” she spoke up, her voice trembling. “Kou-Kourtney was not feeling well and decided to rest in her room today. She didn’t want to disturb the family luncheon. We haven’t seen Kourtney all day. She…she asked to be left alone in her bedroom, hence, the reason for her absence at this dinner.”

Sebastian’s eyes turned colder, and his handsome face tightened as he glared daggers at the middle-aged woman.

“You expect me to believe that?!”

He easily saw through Aunt Matilda’s feeble attempt at deception.

Matilda stumbled over her words, her mind racing to find a convincing response. “It’s… It’s true, Young Master. Kourtney insisted on being left alone. She said she just needed some time to herself.”

Sebastian’s lips curled into a cold smile, his eyes glinting with amusement and anger. “I see.”

He turned to his bodyguards and gave them a nod. With just that one gesture, they knew just what their boss wanted.

The bodyguards swiftly made their way upstairs to investigate, their footsteps echoing through the grand mansion while everyone else stood in silent anticipation. Not even the bodyguards and workers from the Allen mansion dared to stop them from doing as they pleased.

They went round the house to find Kourtney’s room, and moments later, they returned with a report that sent shockwaves through the air.

“Boss, Mrs. Woods’ bedroom door is sealed from the outside,” one of them reported, his voice filled with disbelief, indicating that Kourtney had been locked up.

Sebastian let out a cold laugh, a dangerous spark evident in his gaze. He couldn’t believe that his wife had been treated in such a lowly manner.

“I put my life at risk to get here, only to find out my wife has been… imprisoned?!” his voice boomed with fury, causing Matilda and the others to tremble in fear.

“I-I’m sor-ry, Young Master Woods. It’s not what you think…..” Matilda’s lips trembled as she stammered an apology, but it was clear that her words held no weight.

The room fell silent once again, the tension thick in the air. The only sound being heard was Sebastian’s heavy breathing. His anger had reached its peak. He looked so intimidating, making their blood run cold.

They looked at each other nervously, knowing they were in trouble because Sebastian Woods was not a man to be toyed with.

How could they lock his wife away like she’s a criminal?

Sebastian turned to his bodyguards once again. “Kick open the door,” he ordered, his voice dripping with authority.

The bodyguards wasted no time in carrying out their boss’s command. They ran up the stairs again, and with a swift kick, the door to Kourtney’s room flew open with a BANG!

Kourtney, who was perched up in a corner beside her bed, looking sullen and depressed, jerked up in fright due to the loud sound.

“Mrs. Woods, Mr. Woods is here to pick you up,” one of the bodyguards told her as he stepped forward.

“Sebastian? He came?” Kourtney asked in surprise.

The rooms in the Allen villa were all sound-proofed, so Kourtney hadn’t heard the commotion happening downstairs. All this time, she had assumed the man wouldn’t show up anymore.

She had heard the doorknob being twisted and turned minutes back but only assumed it was the housekeepers trying to release her after the luncheon must have been over.

Her eyes welled up with tears as she recounted the events that led to her confinement.

So he finally showed up?

Kourtney sniffed back the tears and took a deep breath, trying to compose herself

Her sullen and sulky mood quickly brightened up!

She straightened up her gown and checked her makeup to confirm if everything was still perfectly in order before following the bodyguards outside.

Back in the living room, Sebastian and the others heard the sharp click of high heels walking down the staircase. They all looked up, revealing a sight that left Sebastian momentarily speechless.

There she stood, Kourtney, his wife, looking more ethereal than ever. His eyes widened in surprise as he took in the scene before him.

Sweet Heavens!!!

Did an angel fall from above?

His anger melted away in an instant, replaced by a mixture of relief and adoration.

His wife looked angelic in that white dress, like a fairy in the snow. Her fair skin glowed like the morning sun shimmering on a lake. Her gorgeous brown hair was styled in loose waves that cascaded down her shoulders, making her look unreal as fuck!

‘She looks stunning!’

Sebastian’s Adam’s apple rolled back a few times while his jaw tightened. The woman made him crazy with desire.

She looked too beautiful to eat!

He had asked her to look pretty for him, but still, this was so much better than what his greedy thoughts had imagined.

As Kourtney approached him, it felt as if time stood still, and the rest of the room faded into the background.

They couldn’t help but stare in disbelief and shock as the couple united, wondering what would happen next.

Kourtney stopped just inches away from Sebastian, her emerald-green eyes locked onto his sky-blue ones with an intensity that left everyone else in the room feeling neglected.

For a moment, the two of them engaged in a silent standoff as if they were each trying to outdo the other in a staring contest.
