Chapter 57 Are You Jealous?
Chapter 57 Are You Jealous?
The atmosphere suddenly became oppressive.
Lacey didn't like the look in his eyes. Subconsciously, she reached out her hand and tried to push him
away.
Sam had eagle eyes, however, and his hands were quick. He managed to grab her hand and held it
close to his chest. With eyes as sharp as knives, he sneered in a low, hoarse voice, "You want to marry
him so badly, huh?"
Lacey tried to withdraw her hand, but the man had such a firm grip on her that she couldn't move at all.
She lifted her head and glared at him." Mr. Garrison, it's none of your business who I want to marry!"
Sam squinted again, a faint smile on his face. "None of my business? Are you sure?"
He leaned in closer to her once more. "Would you like me to help you recall our memories?" he asked.
His warm breath was near her ear.
An ambiguous tone pierced her ear.
Lacey was taken aback and looked at him in disbelief. Then she sneered and exclaimed, "Mr. Garrison,
we are adults!"
She retaliated in the most direct way possible.
Sam remained silent, only staring at her sinisterly.
Lacey wasn't afraid, nor did she struggle. She raised her brows as she looked into his dark eyes. "Mr.
Garrison, do you still maintain a conventional mindset? Don't worry. I won't hold you responsible."
They were in the modern world, after all.
Even she was open-minded! Could it be that he was still a traditionalist?
Sam's expression darkened. Unexpectedly, he took her chin and kissed her hard on the lips.
Lacey was caught off guard. By the time she realized what was going on, Sam had let go of her.
His eyes arched into a crescent moon, and he smiled. "You don't mind, do you?" NôvelDrama.Org © 2024.
"Shameless!" She raised her hand, ready to slap him.
Yet again, Sam managed to grab her wrist and pull her into his arms. He grinned wickedly and said,
"Aren't you open-minded? What are you so angry about?"
Lacey trembled with rage as she looked up at the man. "I'm your cousin's girlfriend. Are you out of your
mind?"
Both he and Sophia were freaks!
A sneer flashed in Sam's narrow eyes. He said, "Lacey, you were the one who provoked me in the first
place. Did you think I could make you Theo's woman?"
Lacey stared at him in shock. Her eyes glowed red with anger then.
"You look better with expressions on." He pinched her chin and grinned wickedly.
Lacey stared at the man. Out of nowhere, she laughed.
"Ha—"
"What are you laughing at?" He asked calmly.
Lacey abruptly rose to her tiptoes. "Mr. Garrison, are you jealous?" She grabbed his shirt and asked in
a slightly ambiguous tone.
"Jealous?" Sam repeated the word, raising his eyebrows slightly.
"Would there be a better explanation if not?" She leaned into his neck, bringing her warm breath closer
to him as she said in a mocking tone, "It's a pity, though. It's a pity that you don't live up to my
standards!"
......
After saying so, Lacey frowned.
Sam's hand, which had been around her waist, drew her close to his chest.
He was forceful, and it made her feel uncomfortable.
Disgruntled, she looked up at him.
However, she was greeted by a pair of brooding eyes instead.
Sam chuckled. "I'm not up to your standard, you say?"
Lacey sneered despite her discomfort. "Do you really believe you're so great, Mr. Garrison, that all the
women in South City should fall for you?"
"Ha—"
Sam's eyes remained bright with a smile. "You knew how good I was in bed already, didn't you?" He
whispered ambiguously in her ear.
Lacey lifted a mocking smile upon hearing that. "Mr. Garrison, you sure are forgetful. Haven't I told you
before that you're terrible at that as well?"
"Is that so—"
Sam reached out his finger and pressed button three in the elevator.
"Ding-dong!" The elevator door slid open.
"Then let's do it all over again!"
He grabbed her before she could react.
Lacey was taken aback. However, she realized what was going on right away.
"Sam, are you trying to rape me?" She grabbed his shirt with both hands and forced herself to calm
down.
What she said had the man come to a halt.
"Ding-dong." The elevator closed again.
Sam remained silent and looked at her with a glum expression.
"Or do you have a thing for the living dead?" Lacey scoffed when she saw he was silent.
Sam let out a cold chuckle and released her.
Then he pinned her to the elevator.
Clasping one of her hands in his and placing it on top of her head, he said, "You're good at playing hard
to get."
......
Lacey remained silent. She only gave him a cold stare.
Sam didn't like the way she looked at him.
He bit her lip as if to deliver punishment.
Still, Lacey remained motionless. She didn't even try to dodge.
Even her breathing was faint.
Sam came to a halt and stood up to face her.
Now he knew what she meant when she said the living dead!
Her gaze was dull, and her voice even cold as she said, "I'm Lacey, not Lillianna. I'm sure she's more
likely to play this coercive game with you!"
Just then, the lift suddenly stopped. Obviously, someone had pressed the button.
They came to the rst oor.
Gradually, the door opened.
And it was Alvaro outside.
"Hadn't you guys already gone up? Why are you still here?" Alvaro asked in suspicion as he walked in.
Lacey lowered her eyes and fixed her hair. She smiled and said nothing.
With doubt, Alvaro looked at her and then at his son.
Sam, on the other hand, stood straight and stared ahead as if nothing had happened.
As Alvaro fell into contemplation, the lift reached the third floor again.
Theo was seen standing and yawning as soon as the door opened.
He paused at the sight of the three, then greeted them hurriedly with a smile.
"Good morning, Uncle Alvaro." Theo smiled and greeted Alvaro. He then turned to Lacey and said, "I
just knocked on your door. Sophia said you were not there. I almost thought you were gone!"
"You're a lucky man, Theo. Lacey has just made lots of dumplings. They're delicious!" Alvaro walked
out and said.
"Really? Lacey, do you know how to make dumplings?" Theo was amazed.
Lacey nodded in response.
"Let's go. I want to have a try." Theo couldn't wait.
"You can go ahead. I'm going to check on Sophia." Lacey said as she headed straight for Sophia's
room.
Theo frowned.
What happened to Lacey? She seemed upset.
"I'm going back to my room as well," Sam said as he passed Theo.
"All right." Despite his confusion, Theo responded anyway.
"Theo, let's go. I want to talk to you for a bit." Alvaro pulled Theo to the elevator.
When Lacey returned to Sophia's room, she found Sophia sitting on her bed, talking to someone via
video call.
Sophia was startled when she noticed Lacey's arrival.
"Didn't you leave already?" She held the phone in her hand and stared at Lacey in awe.
Lacey walked straight over to her and sat down grimly on the sofa.
Sophia looked at her suspiciously. She then shut off her phone and got out of bed. "Hey, didn't you
leave already? Why are you back?"
"Hey, I'm asking you a question. Are you deaf?"
"Hey, I—"
"Stop nagging. Enough?" Lacey raised her cold eyes. She sounded sarcastic.
Sophia froze for a moment, then she barked, "Who are you yelling at? Why are you shouting at me?
Are you on the wrong medication?"
"Sophia!" Lacey got to her feet and ordered, "Hurry up and go change and eat breakfast! You have
school to go to!"
"What?" Sophia was startled, then she yelled, "Are you insane? Do you have any idea what time it is
right now? School? Are you serious? I'm going back to bed!"
Sophia jumped to her bed after that. "If you want to go to school, you can go by yourself!"
Lacey remained silent. She walked straight over and lifted the covers with a "swoosh."
"Are you out of your mind?" Sophia sat up abruptly.
"It's nearly seven o'clock. It's just the right time for you to go to school after you've finished washing up
and eating breakfast!" Lacey stated solemnly.
"You're insane!" Sophia rolled her eyes. She grabbed her blanket and wrapped it around herself.
Nobody should be able to order her around! She was free to do whatever she wanted!
Imagine attending class on time.
What a joke!
Lacey kept her cool and stared at the spoilt brat.
"I! Will! Not! Go! To! School! What are you going to do about it?" Sophia raised her middle finger and
cast a defiant look at Lacey. "Who do you think you are?" She muttered.
Lacey curled her lip slightly, her eyes filled with sarcasm.
"Indeed, it's your choice after all. There's nothing I can do about it!" She nodded her head in
agreement.
Sophia giggled. "Of course. Just because my father allows you to stay doesn't mean you can do
anything. Do you know what to do to be richly rewarded?" She pointed to the ground and said, "Get
down on your knees and beg for mercy!"
"On my knees?" Lacey's hypocritical gentle smile faded a little, and her expression grew cold.
"That's right. If you get down on your knees and beg me forgiveness, I might consider going to school
later. Otherwise, I won't be going at all. What do you say?" Sophia lay back down. She lifted her chin
and looked at Lacey provocatively.
Lacey said with a smile, "Okay, Ms. Garrison, if that's the case, take your time sleeping. I'll go find Theo
right now!"
She immediately turned around and walked to the door.
"Stop where you are!" Sophia abruptly stood up. "How could you be so shameless already in the early
morning?" she exclaimed, running up to her barefoot.
"What are you going to do about it?"
Lacey repeated Sophia's phrase.
Sophia was fuming with rage at this point.
"I'm going to give you ten minutes. If you don't come down, I'll sleep with him tonight!" Lacey left the
room after that.
"Ahhhhhh—" Sophia stomped her feet in frustration.
Meanwhile, Lacey went downstairs and found Theo sitting alone at the table, eating dumplings.
"Lacey, come here." Theo noticed her and immediately waved his hand.
"Where's Uncle Alvaro?" Lacey asked.
"He's gone upstairs to accompany Aunt Tilly. Lacey, the dumplings you made were so good. They're
the best dumplings I've ever had!"
He said as he grabbed another dumpling and stuffed it into his mouth.
Just then, Sam walked down from the corner of the 2nd floor in his suit.
"Are the dumplings that good?" Lacey turned to ask Theo as soon as she noticed Sam.
"It's delicious. Here, try it." Theo quickly picked up a dumpling and handed it to her.
"Okay!"
Lacey leaned forward unexpectedly. She lowered her head and bit the other half of the dumpling on
Theo's lip.
Time seemed to have come to a standstill at this moment.
Theo was stunned, and the dumplings in his hand fell on the table.
Lacey got up slowly and gazed provocatively at Sam.
"It does taste good!" she exclaimed, smiling.
"What an interesting way to eat dumplings!" Sam pursed his thin lips tightly, and his voice was as cold
as ice. He gritted his teeth, clearly irritated.
"Lacey—" Theo blushed as he looked at her. "Do you, do you want another one?"
He hurriedly picked up another dumpling and held it to his mouth, staring at her with a keen gaze.
"Ms. Carter, this way, please." Off a sudden, the butler's voice sounded. Next to him was another
person.
"Lacey!" The call gave her goosebumps.
Lacey turned to look at Lillianna and forced a faint smile. "Lillianna, you're here early!"
Lillianna smiled softly and said, "I was worried that you weren't used to living here. Oh, you're up early,
Sam?"
"What brings you here?" As soon as Sam took a seat, a servant brought him coffee.
Lillianna feigned shyness and replied, "I was worried that Lacey was not used to living here, so I came
to see her. Besides, she and I are in the same school. I was hoping we'd be able to go to school
together later."
Lacey smiled and said nothing.
"I'm here! I'm here!" From the elevator came Sophia's rushed voice. She dashed over, panting, gasping
for air. "It's only been five minutes! I arrived in less than five minutes!"
