Chapter 62 It's Normal For Couples To Quarrel
"Dad, actually I..."
Pearl was too nervous to explain herself. She will let her father down if she confessed. She never
visited him for the past seven years, but she even lied to him after returning back.
"Well, it's normal for couples to quarrel, but you should fix your temper too." Before she could think of
something to say, Anthony replied.
Pearl was taken aback, and she looked up in astonishment.
Anthony was indifferent as he persuaded Pearl. He sounded like he had a lot of experience as he
continued, "A man in his age will tend to focus on his career. If it's not big issue, then don't waste your
time on trivial things."
"Dad, I..."
"What's the matter?"
"It's nothing. I'll keep that in mind." Pearl forced a smile and corrected herself.
She did not want to tell a lie. Ever since she was a child, she never hid anything from Anthony.
Although he cared about his image and always kept a straight face, he was very soft to her. He even
agreed when she insisted on studying medicine at Ocpeace Medical University.
While, her father was getting old, and he could not take any shock. She was pregnant seven years
ago, and she insisted on giving birth to the child. That incident shocked him a lot, and he almost got a
stroke. So she dared not take the risk.
She could tell that Anthony still blamed her for her premarital pregnancy. Yet, there was no point crying
over spilt milk, and her two children were alive and kicking. Hence her father hoped that she could lead
a good life.
Anthony was a traditional man. He wanted her to marry a good husband who could treat her well and
take care of her.
After the meal, Pearl said goodbye to Anthony at the entrance of the restaurant.
Steve, the Yonng family's butler, was Anthony's driver for the day. Steve stayed with Anthony for many
years, and Pearl and Evelina grew up under his watch too.
Pearl saw Steve and greeted him swiftly.
Steve popped the car trunk and took out lots of shopping bags. "Miss Pearl, Master Anthony prepared
these gifts for the children. I'll put them in your car now."
"I can do it."
"It's okay. Go and talk to Master Anthony more. I'll handle this, Miss Pearl."
Bonny spotted the presents, and she leaped forward to help. She was calling Steve sweetly, and he
was overjoyed.
Pearl walked over to her father, who was standing beside the door. Even if they just had a meal
together, things were still a little awkward for her. "Dad, your hip is not doing well, so why don't you sit
in the car?" Content bel0ngs to Nôvel(D)r/a/ma.Org.
"It's uncomfortable to sit for a long time, so I'll just stand here. It can get stuffy in the car too." Anthony's
eyes focused on his two grandchildren. His usual serious face was warm and loving. "If you're too busy
with work, you can always send the kids to the house." He added.
"Huh?" Pearl was stunned. After a long while, she came to her senses and replied in a muffled voice,
"Thank you, Dad."
Although Anthony didn't say anything that he wanted her back home or forgive her, his attitude towards
her children showed that he got over what happened.
Watching the black car left, Pearl had mixed emotions. She held onto the bank card Anthony gave her,
and she felt very guilty. It was wrong of her never to take the initiative to contact him.
As night fell, and it was peak hour. There was a lot of trafic on the streets in Kityall City, especially at
the CBD. Kityall City was ranked the top five cities in the country for ten years, and the traffic never
improved.
The CEO's office in Zellweger Group.
Richard finished reading thelast document and signed it. He handed it to Ted and checked the time. It
was way past working hours, and he pointed out, "Go home after you're done with the documents."
"Yes, Mr. Zellweger, you should also get off work early. By the way," Ted suddenly recalled something
and continued, "Miss Tevino's manager called to ask if we can give her another chance to be our
ambassador."
"What do you think?" Richard's face suddenly turned cold, and he looked indifferent under the
moonlight.
Ted immediately shook his head. "I said it's impossible, and I've already rejected it, sir."
Richard did not glance at him.
Ted changed the topic and reported, "I went to check in the City Hospital, and Dr. Yonng has yet to go
back to work."
"What's the reason?"
"The hospital explained that Dr. Yonng was injured, so they let her rest at home and wait for her to
recover. If the crew members still need her, she'll return to the set. It seems that the rumors were quite
a big deal. The City Hospital cared about their reputation, so they would not let it slide."
"Didn't she go to change her bandage in the City Hospital?" Richard frowned asked.
Ted was stunned for a second, "No, sir."
"Find out which hospital did she go to check on her wounds?"
"Yes, sir."
Ted nodded in puzzle. He couldn't help but thought how was Dr. Yonng's work related to her changing
her bandage?
After the door of the office closed, Richard took his mobile phone and turned to the French window.
The window reflected his tall figure, and the figure was drowned in the night. The window showed the
bustling city center of Kityall City and various vehicles lined on the road.
He scrolled through his contact list and stopped at 'Dr. Wale'. He hesitated for a moment before dialing
the number.
"Hello? it's me, Richard."
......
"Nothing important, we haven't been in touch for a long time, so I called to check on you."
......
The next day, the sky was clean, and the breeze was nice.
Early in the morning, before both children woke up, Pearl drove to the hospital to change her bandage
The doctor removed all her bandage and checked her hand carefully.
"Dr. Stone, my hand should be okay, right? It's almost healed." Pearl asked immediately.
"It is, but we still need to watch it for a while. The weather is scorching, and your wound might be
inflamed. You can come to the hospital to apply the medicine once every three days."
"I'm a doctor too, could you just prescribe the medicine to me? I can just change the bandage and
apply the medicine at home, so I don't have to come to the hospital again."
Pearl was afraid that the doctor would not trust her. Even she fished out her medical license.
"You're from the City Hospital?" The doctor glanced at Pearl's license and asked, "Hmmm... Why didn't
you come here?"
A loud voice from outside blocked Pearl's following words. There was a hint of anger in his voice, and a
man broke into the room directly. "It's because she feels guilty, and she's avoiding me!"
As soon as she followed the voice and saw the man, her face changed quickly.
"Dr. Wale," the doctor who was treating her spoke out first.
