Chapter 420
Chapter 420
Hearing her promise, Chase couldn’t suppress a smug twist of his lips. He pinched his nose with one hand, and dragged Sasha back to the production crew with the other hand.
The moment they saw him standing there with his face covered in blood, everyone’s eyes went wide. A few of the younger girls couldn’t help but let out gasps of shock.
“Oh my God, what happened? Did you hit him?”
“No way, with a boyfriend that hot? If you’re not into him, I’ll take him off your hands!”
“Someone grab the ice pack, quick! That handsome face can’t get ruined. That would be a tragedy. Seriously, guys, can’t you settle your squabbles without getting physical?”
Listening to everyone’s chatter made Sasha want to scream. She was the real victim here. She had to play nursemaid to this jerk for an entire month, and who knew what kind of torture he had in store for her?
Gritting her teeth, Sasha hissed under her breath, “Is this the method you were talking about?” This content © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.
Chase let out a low chuckle, “Yeah, icing is the best way to stop the bleeding. It cools the blood down and slows the flow. Didn’t you know every hotel fridge has medical ice packs? Are you daft or something?”
Sasha clenched her fists in frustration. So, she was paying a month’s worth of servitude for this simple trick? She pinched Chase’s arm hard, teeth clenched, and muttered, “Chase, you just wait!”
Chase leaned in, his breath tickling her ear. “Wait for what? Your revenge? Planning to bite back?”
“Get lost!”
Just as she was about to kick him, the assistant scurried over. “Sasha, I’ve got the ice here, and I even found an ice-cold towel for you.”
Without thinking, Sasha took a step back, annoyed. “You deal with him.”
The assistant glanced at Chase’s dashing face, shyly suggesting, “Sasha, that doesn’t seem right. He’s your boyfriend. You should do it.” Then, she thrust the items into Sasha’s hands and scurried away.
Before Sasha could explain, Chase grabbed her wrist. His voice went from nonchalant to pitifully weak, “Sasha, it’s starting to go dark... I’m feeling dizzy. Is this from operating for seven hours and losing so much blood? I can’t handle it.”
The director immediately chimed in, “Sasha, get on with it and help him out. He’s a lifesaver, a doctor for god’s sake. If you two have issues, sort it out at home.”
“Yeah, Sasha, if you won’t do it, we’ll have to step in.”
Sasha was so angry she could crush her teeth. “He’s not my boyfriend. Stop making stuff up.”
Upon hearing this, Chase tightened his grip on her hand. His voice was rough with exhaustion. “Sasha, you don’t want me?”
“Drop your act! Chase, don’t push your luck!”
A set medic, summoned by someone, snatched the ice pack from Sasha’s hand, scolding, “Sasha, look how hard you are hitting him?”
Sasha was so irritated.
Quickly, the medic managed to stop Chase’s bleeding and cleaned up his face. He even brought him a cup of comforting herbal tea, advising, “Sit down and rest a bit. You’ll feel better soon.”
Chase smiled gratefully, “Thanks a lot. I owe you dinner.”
“No need to be so formal. Just get Sasha to finish her last scene. We’re all eager to clock out here.”
