Chapter 643
Chapter 643
She could imagine how terrified he must have felt. He was a child who was alone in a mansion. Even though he had family, there was no love, and he had to constantly worry about being replaced.
The only way he could live was to keep being strong. He could not even show a little bit of weakness.
Because showing weakness meant the possibility of being discarded.
“Was it hard for you when you were young?” Serenity asked in a soft voice. Her heart ached for the man in front of her.
In the past, when she heard others talking about him, he sounded like a high and mighty man who had limitless wealth and could have anything he wanted. He was simply a born winner.
But
now, she realized that there was no such thing as a born winner. He had to go through a lot of hardships to obtain what he had now.
He had to carry a burden at a young age that was far beyond what a child should carry.
“It was alright,” Jackson replied, his slender fingers gently brushing over her almond–shaped eyes that were filled with
concern.
Currently, he could see himself reflected in her eyes!
“It’s all in the past now. At least I don’t have to worry about being replaced anymore,” said Jackson. He controlled his own destiny now.
“That’s right, it’s all in the past now,” said Serenity. She gently pressed down on his hand and rubbed her cheek against his palm. “To me, you’re absolutely irreplaceable.”
Serenity could always find ways to make Jackson want to cherish her even more.
“Never forget that you said that,” he said softly, then bent down and kissed her lips gently.
Devoted and absolute.
However, after the kiss ended, Serenity went back to the previous tople, “But is it really alright to ignore your grandfather? Should I go see him?”
When she said that, her body trembled slightly. She would be lying if she said she was not afraid of the old man. Her last encounter with him was truly frightening.
“There’s no need,” said Jackson, “Like I said, I’ll marry you regardless of whether he agrees or not. If he doesn’t agree to our marriage when you see him, will that stop you from marrying me?”
Serenity pondered that question very seriously before answering, “No, I’ll marry you as long as you want to marry me!”
“Exactly. Don’t worry about the old man’s opinion. I’ll marry you and you’ll marry me, simple as that,” he said, not wanting her to meet the old man

There were some things that she was better off not knowing.
Two days later, Serenity and Lisa went to a bridal shop to meet the designer Serenity had chosen.
The designer picked out a few wedding dresses that suited Serenity and asked Serenity to try them on to get a feel for them before they discuss how her dress should be designed.
