Chapter 56 Is He Impotent
Madelyn followed Benjamin back to their apartment.
After pondering for a long while, she finally asked, "Did... Did you target the Campbell Group?"
Benjamin paused in his movements. Then he asked casually, "Do you want to put in good words for
Daniel?"
"Nah."
Madelyn fiddled with the two bottles of red wine awkwardly.
After staring at her for a while, Benjamin sat down on the couch and turned on the TV to watch the
financial news. After a long while, he found Madelyn was still standing on the spot, so he asked blandly,
"Are you going to prepare the dinner?"
Madelyn nodded.
When she changed into pajamas, she couldn't help but think to herself, "Maybe Benjamin doesn't have
any sexual needs. My current function is to cook, do cleanings, and run some errands for him. I and
Claire are taking turns to serve him.'
She hadn't expected that Benjamin was such an abstinent man.
When Madelyn was preparing dinner, Benjamin was also busy with his work. He had answered several
calls. When he put down his phone and prepared to take a shower, he noticed that the screen of
Madelyn's phone, which was put on the tea table, lit up.
Benjamin glanced in the direction of the kitchen and causally picked up Madelyn's phone.
He knew Madelyn's screen-lock password, so he unlocked her phone effortlessly and saw the two
messages sent by Daniel.
[Daniel] Turns out your love is so worthless that you cease to love me so soon.
Benjamin sneered and thought to himself, 'Such a love-struck man.'
He replied to the message expressionlessly. NôvelDrama.Org is the owner.
[Madelyn] Since you know it's worthless, just toss it into the trash can!
He directly deleted the messages right after that and blacklisted Daniel.
On Daniel's side, he was lost for words when he saw the message.
Madelyn prepared four dishes and a soup, which all had appetizing looks and fragrances. Among them,
the spicy crab was her specialty. Those who had tasted it all said it was delicious.
When the dinner was ready, she called Benjamin, yet the latter was still immersed in the financial news
and he only stood up lazily as Madelyn called him again. However, his face looked cold.
Madelyn guessed that he was in a bad mood, so she didn't dare to provoke him.
After eating for a while, Benjamin suddenly complained, "None of the dishes is my favorite."
Madelyn was taken aback.
She subconsciously explained, "Claire told me roughly about your preferences. It shouldn't be."
Benjamin looked at her eagerly and said, "Why didn't you directly ask me about my preferences?"
Madelyn was quite speechless.
Before, she thought living with him meant that her work was to lie on the bed and appease him to his
heart's content. Out of her expectation, he was very picky about her in life! She couldn't help
associating it with the scenes where he suddenly stopped at the peak of their desires... Could it be that
he was impotent yet he felt shy to talk about it, so he could only torture her in other aspects?
Madelyn felt a bit sorry for him.
Mr. Benjamin Clark, who was always a noble, decent man, was actually imperfect.
Madelyn said patiently, "I'll pay attention to this next time."
Benjamin snorted lightly and began to pick on the food again. Anyway, he suddenly asked after eating
for another while, "You cooked for Daniel before, right? Are these dishes his favorite?"
Madelyn finally understood that Benjamin was getting jealous because of Daniel.
These dishes were his favorites!
Madelyn's eyes got red.
However, she was aware that she couldn't afford to offend him based on her identity. Therefore, she
could also say patiently, "I can't change the fact that I was once his girlfriend, but for me, those were all
the past. I won't have him in my mind anymore. We have to live together for a period. But if you get
picky about me every day because of this..."
She couldn't continue as she felt very aggrieved.
Benjamin didn't say anything. He sat down on the sofa and lit a cigarette.
Madelyn began to clear the table. She poured the left food into a garbage bag, changed into slippers,
and prepared to go downstairs.
"Where are you going?" Benjamin thought she was going to throw the left food into the garbage can.
Madelyn replied in a nasal sound, "Go downstairs to feed the dogs. Some homeless dogs may like the
dishes I cooked."
Benjamin was a bit dumbfounded, and then he chuckled.
She was satirizing him secretly!
However, right at this moment, he wasn't angry at all. Instead, he thought Madelyn who was showing
this aspect to him was a bit cute.
