Chapter 1563
Chapter 1563
Owen made his way to the room in the dark and gently pushed the door open. NôvelDrama.Org owns this text.
He was wearing a wire and Paul was connected on the other end.
Therefore, both of them could clearly hear every movement happening on the other end.
The room only has simple furnishing, and a human size bulge was formed under the covers on the bed.
The person was asleep with his back facing the door.
While Owen approached the bed, he took out a knife.
He then stabbed the neck of the man on the bed.
With a slash, the knife was stabbed into the pillow. The man who was asleep at first dodged and avoided the knife.
Owen was shocked, then he quickly stabbed him once again.
Unexpectedly, the man on the bed reacted faster than Owen. The man was strong and agile, and his moves were clean and sharp.
He directly knocked Owen's knife to the ground.
Owen's wrist, on the other hand, became numbed after being struck, and he let out a dull moan in pain.
Paul, who was on the other end, noticed something was wrong, so he asked, "What's happening?"
Owen did not answer Paul through the wire. Instead, he asked the man whose face he could not see clearly in the dark a question. He could tell it was a man from his figure.
However, he absolutely was not the man they were looking for.
"Who are you?* asked Owen, and in the next second, the lights in the room were turned on.
Ivan was standing on the bed and facing Owen directly.
"Didn't you leave?" Owen's expression was vicious.
"It was another person who went out. I was waiting for you guys here." Ivan's gaze was ice cold with a murderous air. ’I want to know very badly who's the person who sent you here.
Ivan had never met Corentin's men, so it was only natural that he could not figure out that this had something to do with Corentin.
Even though Paul could not recognize Ivan's voice, he figured out who it could possibly be. He then said in a low voice through the wire, "Owen, retreat!”
Owen, however, felt he had to kill the man to silence him. After all, the man has already seen his face.
Therefore, he charged forward once again and fought with Ivan.
At first, he could still handle Ivan, but it got more and more straining for him later. In the end, he flew across the room after Ivan gave him a kick.
Owen fell on the coffee table, and the coffee table was almost smashed.
Ivan was seeing red and was prepared to deliver a critical hit straight away.
However, a chair flew toward him from behind his back.
Ivan noticed something was wrong and dodged it rapidly.
With a loud smash, the chair landed on the floor.
Paul pulled Owen up, pointed his gun at Ivan, and fired a shot.
Ivan got up immediately and dodged the bullet.
He then fired two shots before Paul and Owen escaped through the door.
They still escaped in the end.
Ivan turned on the lights in the living room and looked up. There was a surveillance camera installed in the corner of the ceiling.
Paul and Owen got in the car and successfully escaped from the residential area.
However, Owen was shot in the back of his waist and he was bleeding all over the seat. The stench of the blood filled the air inside the sealed car.
"How're you doing?" asked Paul, then he handed him a towel. "Press it against your wound.’
Owen pressed the towel against his wound. He was instantly in so much pain that he wailed and almost lost consciousness.
"Hang in there."
Corentin was sound asleep while hugging Ashlynn when he received a call from Paul.
He then quietly left the room with the phone in his hand. He answered the call, but before he said anything, Paul's urgent voice could be heard coming from the other end of the call.
"Mr. Lloyd, something went wrong. It was a trap."
"What the hell are you guys doing? You guys can't even tell it was a trap?" Corentin held his voice back and bellowed as he was extremely furious.
"Owen got shot. It doesn't look too good," said Paul after glancing at Owen, who has already lost consciousness.
"Go to the bar. i'll send a doctor over!" Corentin immediately hung up the call.
They could not even get such a small matter right!
He had already reminded them to be mindful of traps! How brainless!
Corentin returned to the room and took a glance at Ashlynn. She was more lethargic as she was pregnant, so she did not even notice the movements of the person next to her.
