Chapter 53

Finished

Looking at the arrival notice in the text message, Elisa counted twice. She added to the payment made in the previous two days and gathered over 30,000 thousand dollars. And if she finished recording what the man asked for, she would earn another 180 thousand dollars. Wasn’t that the same as getting rich overnight? She had truly met the God of wealth!

After rejoicing, Elisa forced herself to calm down because she had to keep this money safe. She didn’t know when the other person would ask for her services again. Above all that, Elisa will try to find more jobs suitable to her niches. She wanted to give her mother a stable life when she discharges so Elisa has to work herself off a little extra.

Suddenly, Elisa remembered she had to pay around 17,000 bucks for her mother’s pending bill. She found a previous receipt she gave back then. Elisa hurried going downstairs, immediately went to settle her mother’s remaining balance.

“Please come in!” The doctor said. The door swung open, and Elisabeth saw Robert’s figure coming through whilst she caught Smith examining her legs.

“Apologies for the interruption, Dr. Smith,” She ceased speaking- a little shy about the interruption she made. “Oh, I wasn’t aware that you were in a consultation. I will return at a later time!” As Elisabeth was preparing to depart, the doctor intercepted her.

“I have some free time, Elisa. How may I help you? Have a seat please.” The doctor approached Elisa, completely disregarding Robert.

“Is there something you need, Elisa?” Robert’s expression turned sour upon hearing the name the doctor referred to as Elisabeth.

Elisabeth nibbled her lower lip then glanced at the doctor. “Upon my arrival, you kindly provided me with a medicine for my throat. I was wondering if it would be possible for you to prescribe it again or recommend an alternative that can effectively protect my throat?” She anxiously inquired with her trembling hand.

“Yes,” Smith nodded, giving the impression that she recalled the information.

“No need to worry. I will provide you with a prescription later. I would let someone deliver the medicine to you tomorrow morning. Does that sound okay?”

“Certainly it’s not a problem, doc. But how can I make the payment for the medicine?” Her eyes winced, her soft question made the doctor chuckle a little.

“You don’t have to worry. We’ll put it under Robert’s tab. It will be charged under his account.” The doctor responded. Elisa winced. She was anxious because of Robert’s smirk. He might be thinking that this woman was spending his money once more.

“No, no. I have my money. I would pay separately. I know I can do that. Besides, I don’t want to mix my things with Robert’s,” Elisabeth shook her head repeatedly. The doctor glanced at Robert, who remained silent, implying that this matter had nothing to do with him.

Smith quickly observed that something was off in their interaction. It was not the same as when the boss was unconscious.

“Alright, let’s get started. Iwill arrange for the medicine to be delivered along with Robert’s request. Once the medicine arrives I will make a note of the price on it and you can conveniently make the navment

directly to me. Is that acceptable to you?” The doctor offered an alternative way which Elisa appreciated.

“Thank you.” Elisa murmured gently.

“You’re welcome.” She was about to leave his office when the doctor stopped her from leaving by calling her name. “Elisa, I have just finished examining Mr. Fisher. Could you assist him in finding his way back to his room?”

Before Elisa could assert, Robert immediately declined. “No!” Robert firmly declined.

Robert pressed the button on his wheelchair. However, it only managed to move two steps before the battery completely drained, leaving Robert feeling exasperated.

“Tell Charles to come instead and fetch me.” Robert requested Smith, with a subtle undertone of caution in his gaze.

However, the doctor failed to notice and playfully bantered with him. “Why? Your room is just a short distance away. Oh, I see. You don’t like to exhaust Mrs. Fisher. I completely understand Mr. Fisher.” Dr. Smith’s words made him halt. Robert’s eyes had a somber hue, and he harbored a deep resentment towards his doctor friend.

“Elisa, I apologize for the interruption.” Smith greeted Elisabeth with a warm smile.

“Sure, no problem.” Elisabeth replied in a gentle tone as she gently pushed Robert away.

Smith kept a watchful eye on their surroundings as they departed, savoring the moment with a cup of coffee by his side. Despite being aware of her boss‘ ill intentions, the sight before them was undeniably delightful!

Elisabeth escorted Robert back to his room without encountering Charles or anyone else along the way. It was now her responsibility to extend assistance to that incredibly, wicked, and cruel man.

“Do you need assistance with getting into bed?” Elisabeth inquired with courtesy.

“What happens next once I’m in bed? Would you like to spend the night and rest beside me?” Robert mocked, seemingly pondering the question.

Her eyebrows shot up. “So what are you really trying to say?” Elisabeth retorted back, holding her ground.

“God. Refute from feigning ignorance.” He responded with a dismissive eye roll.

“Are you saying I don’t want to divorce you and stay by your side?” Her answer made him glanced menacingly. Elisabeth seemed to have no recollection of her actions towards him after his coma.

“Do you still require a reminder of what you did?” Then she stayed quiet, contemplating how to address this allegation. “You went as far as taking a test to determine your ovulation.”

She spun around and inhaled deeply several times to quell the rage within her. However, Robert’s words felt like a public humiliation whilst he stood before Elisa with a fork and knife, callously chipping away at her self–confidence.

The words she hasn’t uttered yet appear lackluster, and given that he already had this notion, any further explanation from her would be futile!

“Mr. Robert, rest assured, I will terminate our marriage promptly.” She responded.

Really, huh? How much longer do you believe you can keep me waiting?”

“I have a busy schedule today but rest assured- once I complete my tasks, I won’t delay any further!” Elisa affirmed, unwilling to provide him with a lengthy explanation. After all, she was indifferent to Robert’s opinion. Even if he believes she is procrastinating and hesitant to get a divorce, it holds no significance to her.

It’s his problem, not mine!” Elisa thought.

Elisabeth swiftly swerved and left. She had no desire to remain in that room for even a moment longer. She despised seeing Robert right now.

Upon opening the door, a sudden recollection prompted her to swiftly turn around and cast her gaze upon Robert

“I transferred the $17,000 from the card Mrs. Fisher gave me, so now I don’t owe anything anymore!”

After uttering those words, she firmly shut the door. Robert’s gaze fixated on the closed door as he let out a deep sigh, feeling a mix of annoyance and anxiety. Was she attempting to engage in a negotiation with him

How could she possibly be busy? Robert nibbled his lower lip and said, ‘She’s just a student, right?‘ in his mind
