Chapter 105: Something Wrong with His Brain

Chapter 105: Something Wrong with His Brain

Joseph Beckham concentrated and held the steering wheel tight, saying out, “Mind your own business.”

Hayden Downey could tell that he was displeased.

They reached Nanking after two and a half hours. Joseph had a meeting in the afternoon. He made a call to Magnus James on the way and then sent Hayden to the entrance of the hospital. Magnus had been waiting for them for a long time when they reached there.

“Mr. Beckham, Ms. Downey.” Magnus stood in front of the car and greeted Joseph and Hayden. Then he mentioned the patient who was transferred to that hospital, “The patient from Lanxi Town has been arranged for hospitalization. But the hospital recommended to discharge him for treatment. He was being not cooperative and causing trouble during the transfer. He was then sent here after giving him a shot of sedation. Be careful, Ms. Downey, when seeing him later.” Content rights belong to NôvelDrama.Org.

Hayden frowned, “Really? He was quite normal when I was there.”

Hearing Hayden’s words, Joseph stared at her and said displeasingly, “Is it that your understanding of normal is different from that of most person?”

When Joseph reached the hospital ward yesterday, and saw the kid holding her tightly. Was this normal at all?

“Huh?”

“Take care of yourself.” Joseph frowned when seeing the puzzled look on Hayden’s face. He looked at the time and said, “Give me a call if you need anything,” before getting into the car.

She felt complicated seeing Joseph left the hospital.

She seemed to have seen a different side of him last night.

When Hayden reached the ward, all kinds of medical equipment were tumbled all over the place. The doctor and nurses were so busy surrounding a bed and capturing a teenager in the middle.

“Quick. Over there, over there.”

“Block the door. Don’t let him get out.”

“Don’t hurt him. He has a wound on his head.”

“Gosh…”

“…”

Hayden’s face changed drastically when she pushed open the door and saw this scene, “What are you guys doing?”

When the teenager surrounded in the middle saw Hayden, he immediately broke out from the crowd and hid behind Hayden, trembling.

“Hey, catch…”

“What are you catching?” Hayden glared at the intern and quickly glanced over the place, seeing a phone and selfie stick on the ground. She got the picture and criticized displeasingly, “He’s having a brain disorder, no one told you guys when he was transferred to here? What’s wrong with you guys?”

“No. It’s that he woke up and started smashing things suddenly, wanting to leave. We’re just afraid that he would run out and meet with a mishap.”

“If it weren’t you guys touching him, would he be smashing something out of sudden? He has a brain disorder, but not a psychopath.”

Hayden was young but full of vigor. Her yelling had caused the young doctor and nurses not to dare to speak out.

Soon, the chief physician and head nurse heard the news and came by immediately.

Hayden reassured the teenager to stay in the ward. When she came out, the head nurse apologized to her, saying that the matter was cleared up.

“The new trainee nurse was immature. She said that the patient transferred to here looks like her classmate. She took a selfie stick, wanting to take a photo with him, which then led to this incident. We apologize for this.”

“Looks like her classmate?” Hayden brightened up, “Which nurse?”

“Ms. Downey,” The head nurse was perturbed, “The trainee is just starting her internship here and I’m the one that didn’t teach her well. Just tell me if you have any complaints. She is still young and still haven’t graduated yet.”

Hearing this, Hayden knew that there was a misunderstanding. She explained that the patient she brought in had a terrible fall and damaged the brain. And he might be suffering from transient global amnesia. She was helping him to search for his family. So she wanted to ask that nurse who said that the teenager looked like her classmate.

The head nurse was relieved and called the nurse out.

The trainee nurse was seemed to be in her late teens. When she saw Hayden, she looked nervous, probably because of being shocked by Hayden’s yelling just now, and said, “Ms. Downey, anything you

want to ask me? I swear I didn’t hit him. I was just trying to take a photo with him only.”

“I’m asking you. Do you know him?”

Hayden looked at the little girl in front of her with a severe look.

“Huh?” The trainee was puzzled and froze for a while, “Isn’t he your friend? Why are you asking…”

“He has some brain disorders due to a car accident recently. I’m not sure that if he is suffering from amnesia because of that. You said that he looks like one of your classmate. Can you tell me, who is this classmate of yours?”

Hayden briefly told the trainee nurse about the whole incident. The trainee nurse then pondered for a while after understanding the situation. She looked at the teenager on the bed through the observation window for a moment and shook her head, “I just met him a few times in front of the school, near the Higher Education Mega Centre. I’m from a medical university, and it is mostly females in the school. He might not from our school. He looks so handsome. I had a bet with my friends that I would ask him for his contact if I meet him again. And then I met him here coincidentally. That’s all I know.”

“So, you don’t know who is he, right?”

The young nurse nodded, feeling embarrassing.

“Not even his name?”

“No.”

Hayden was down when her hope had come to naught. She let the nurse leave, and she stood at the door for a while before entering the ward.

The teenager was nestled in the bed, wrapping himself with the white quilt and just revealing his eyes. His eyes were clear, like an innocent child.

Hayden felt that those eyes of his were familiar when the teenager suddenly opened his mouth, “Hayden, I want to have some drink.”

Hayden was startled, “Are you calling me?”

He nodded.

Hayden looked utterly stunned, “How do you know my name?”

“I want some drink.” The teenager repeated his request again.

Hayden gathered her wits and poured some water for him. She guessed that he might have heard Joseph calling her name before at the hospital. So he just followed it.

While he was drinking, Hayden took out her phone and showed him today’s news, “Do you know these words?”

The teenager gulped a mouthful of water, blinking his eyes, “In the early hours of this morning, a nineteen-year-old man died after falling into the river at Mountain F of Hexi…”

He wasn’t stupid. Did she really hit him into amnesia?

Hayden scrutinized the teenager’s face. He looked handsome with a sense of childish temperament. And the trainee nurse was right just now. He indeed looked like a college student.

After looking for a moment, she asked tentatively, “Do you remember what’s your name?”

The teenager blinked and suddenly froze as if trying to recall something. He screwed up his face gradually, burying his head in the blanket with a painful look.

Seeing this, Hayden didn’t dare to let him think again. She fondled his back, trying to appease him, “It’s okay if you can’t think of it. It’s alright.”

The teenager was shivering on the bed, screaming in a low and hoarse voice. Soon, when Hayden was about to call the doctor, the teenager grasped her wrist suddenly and said out in a trembling voice, “Benjamin.”
