Chapter 130: Miss the Return of a Prodigal

Chapter 130: Miss the Return of a Prodigal

Before Alayna answered, Kevin had arrived. He was 1.85-meter tall. His model-like body figure brought out the best of the white suit he was wearing.

“Why are you here?” As expected, the first person Kevin talked to was Alayna.

“Why are you asking? Are you saying that I can’t be here because your family owns the place?”

“I don’t mean that,” Kevin smiled awkwardly.

“Somebody told me that we have come to an end and that we've reached a parting way. It wasn’t too long ago…”

“Excuse me, I still meant what I said last night,” Alayna rolled her eyes. Then, she suddenly waved at the behind of Kevin in a sweet tone, “Honey, I’m here.”

A man with blonde hair and blue eyes approached them. He was the youngest among the guest tonight. The wide and muscular figure of a western man made him looked like he was a size bigger than Kevin. Alayna held his arm affectionately when he arrived.

“Let me introduce you to my boyfriend, Spencer.”

After greeting Spencer, Hayden quickly pulled Joseph away from the scene.

Alayna and Kevin never admit defeat. Their pride was their priority. The way they fought with each other was a norm for people around them. But this time, Hayden thought Alayna went too far. Kevin looked terrible.

After Hayden and Joseph left, Kevin’s expression worsened. He angrily said, “Alayna if I’m not mistaken, we’ve only broken up last night, and you have already found a new boyfriend?”

“Is there a problem?” Alayna glanced at him, “After all, I have a new boyfriend after we broke up, but somebody likes to look for a new girlfriend before he breaks up.”

“I told you she was the sister of a friend.”

“Your friend must have a lot of sisters then.”

“…”

On the other side, Hayden drank some red wine with the guest while holding Joseph's arm. After a while, her face flushed red. She then leaned against Joseph's arm.

There was music playing in the hall. A guest invited Hayden to dance.

Hayden agreed and entered the dance floor.

Hayden was wearing a burgundy red slip dress. Her dress twirl as she danced and she looked stunning under the lights in the hall. It was so eye-catching that people started to stop and watch Hayden dance.

Kevin approached Joseph with a wine glass in his hand. This text is © NôvelDrama/.Org.

They touched glasses as the music played. As they watched Hayden dance, Kevin insulted, “Don’t you feel jealous that men are looking at her?”

“Shouldn’t they be jealous instead?” Joseph was calm, and he took a sip from the wine glass, “After all, all they could do is only watching. She belongs to me.”

“It’s good to be positive. I used to be like that,” Kevin shrugged his shoulder, “But as I grow older, I can’t be that positive already.”

Joseph glanced at Kevin and corrected him, “You wasn’t being positive. You didn’t care at all in the past.”

Kevin changed girlfriends too fast that sometimes he didn’t even remember the name of his ex- girlfriend after a day. This wasn’t just being positive. It meant nothing ever matter to him. Having girlfriends was just an act of psychological needs.

“You are saying that I care now?”

“You care, but you acted like you didn’t,” Joseph glanced at a spot from far, “If you keep pretending that you don’t like her, she won’t be yours.”

“What do you mean?” Kevin frowned.

“Take a look.”

Kevin turned and looked at the place where Joseph was starring. He saw Alayna and her new boyfriend standing across the dance floor. They stood very close to each other. Alayna was holding his arm with one hand, and feeding him fruits with another hand.

Kevin immediately went mad.

Alayna wanted to find someone new to make him jealous. That’s fine. But she went too far this time!

Kevin chugged the wine down his throat out of anger. He then put down the wine glass and left the scene.

After a song ended, another man approached Hayden to invite her for another dance. Hayden shook her head and rejected the man, saying that she had a headache after drinking. She then quickly walked across the dance floor and came back to Joseph.

“I thought I saw Kevin here just now?” Hayden took a sip of water from a glass handed over by Joseph.

“He has just left.”

Hayden nodded, and then sighed, “How long do you think they will be back together?”

“Before the party ends,” Joseph answered in a casual tone.

“What?” Hayden raised her head in surprise, “Why?”

Joseph starred in a direction across the dance floor. Hayden too looked in the direction Joseph starred. She saw Kevin pulled Alayna away from her new boyfriends and headed into the nearest VIP room. The atmosphere was filled with ambiguity and passion.

“What did I miss?” Hayden widened her eyes.

Joseph hugged Hayden and explained shortly, “You missed the show, where a prodigal return.”

The party ended at around ten o’clock at night. Other than Alayna and Kevin, all the other guests were staying in the hotel. Therefore, the aftermath of the party was so much easier. It wasn’t too much to deal with, so Hayden headed to her room after instructing the cleaners to clean up the place.

Hayden’s schedule was filled with the guests’ itinerary throughout the week. Joseph was with her for the first two days, but he went missing on the third day.

“Mr. Beckham had to deal with some stuff. The guest will be under your concern from now on, Ms. Downey.”

When Hayden questioned Joseph’s whereabouts, Magnus seemed evasive and suspicious.

“What stuff?” Hayden asked.

Magnus coughed and carefully answered, “I didn’t know everything about Mr. Beckham. It was a private matter.”

Hayden frowned. Joseph didn’t look like a person who didn’t know how to set priorities. He won’t usually leave the important guests aside and attend to his private matter unless it was urgent.

Joseph wasn’t back until it was after midnight.

Hayden was asleep, but she was awake when Joseph opened the door. She sat on the bed in her puppy eyes and asked Joseph, “You just got back? What time is it now?”

Joseph sat on the bed and hugged Hayden, “Go back to sleep. It’s only midnight.”

Hayden hugged Joseph back on his waist and laid her head on his chest like a gentle kitten.

“Sleep.”

Joseph stroked Hayden’s back. His eyes filled with pampering.

Hayden closed her eyes after hearing the sound of the running water in the bathroom. Suddenly, she heard the notification ringtone from the phone. She reached for the phone on the bedside table with her eyes half-opened.

“Don’t forget about tomorrow. I’ll be waiting for you at the airport.”

Hayden frowned. She thought it was a mistakenly sent message. She only realized she took the wrong phone when she saw the name of the sender.

It was Viola’s name on the sender column.
