Chapter 135 Mommy Hates Liars The Most
“You’re still laughing! Why are you guys so shameless?”
Alayna Cole scowled, “Just tell me if you want to get scolded. I’ll cover Stella’s ears first.”
Hearing this, Kevin Jackman sighed helplessly and took a look at the little girl beside Alayna, “There’s something behind this. It isn’t what you look like. But I think she is not suitable to hear it.”
“Why not?” Alayna and Stella Downey asked at the same time.
Stella pouted with her childish voice echoing in the room, “Mommy said that only bad things that couldn’t let others hear. What bad things are you going to tell Alayna that I shouldn’t hear?”
Kevin gave a wry glance, touching his nose, “Alright then. Anyway, this matter is for their own good. So I’m not hiding it from you too. But don’t you pour fuel on the fire. It’s not a big deal actually.”
“What do you mean?”
“About this matter, Joseph did it deliberately, no other purpose. Just only to make up to Hayden.”
“Bullshit. Do you guys make up to someone by going a vacation with another woman?”
“This is obviously a fake news.” Kevin explained, “There are only two methods for making up to someone. One is to give her an out, while the other one is to let her feel threatened. We’ve tried giving Hayden an out but it was useless. So Joseph just used this as the last attempt.”
Alayna wrinkled her eyebrows and remained silent for a while after hearing his words. She stared at Kevin and asked, “Who came up with this bad idea?”
Alayna sent a chill up Kevin’s spine, “Of course… it’s Joseph’s idea. Don’t look at me. It has nothing to do with me.”
“Shame on you guys.” Alayna said unceremoniously, “You guys always putting us off the scent but never reflect on yourself for doing something wrong. You are so shameless. Let’s go, Stella.”
“Hey, don’t be mad. Don’t you ever tell this to Hayden. You promised me just now.”
“I won’t say.” Alayna gave Kevin a stare, “But Stella will.”
“Mommy hates liars the most!” Stella snorted and set off with Alayna.
Kevin was dumbfounded on the spot.
This matter fell between two stools. If Joseph knew about it, he would kill him. Kevin had to hide before things went shit.
...
The next day at work, Hayden arrived at her workplace and saw all the women gathering and whispering. Hayden could guess out what they were talking about.
“Do you all have nothing to do? Are the client data input? Are the rooms checked? Are the reservation information verified?”
All the staff fled away as Hayden stood at the office entrance, accusing them. Then Hayden entered her office without even looking back.
Her assistant, Jeff, knocked on the door and came in, looking at her nervously, “Ms. Downey, this is the client data.”
“Put it down.”
Jeff dawdled for a moment, “Ms. Downey, you’re so excellent and could have found a better man.”
Hearing this, Hayden was pissed off, “You little brat. Had I indulge you to being so garrulous? You are always nothing to do and keep gossiping like those women. Get back to your work.”
“I’m going now.” Jeff nodded and left in a hurry. Belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.
Everyone in the hotel was giving her a meaningful look the whole morning.
Hayden was level-headed. She went to the cafeteria for lunch deliberately, with all the staff gazing at her. She kept a straight face as she carried her food and picked the most conspicuous position to sit down.
Didn’t they want to look? Just let them.
As she just sat down, the surrounding was in an uproar suddenly. And she heard a name that was making her gritting her teeth in anger the whole morning.
“Mr. Beckham...”
A tall figure cast a shadow over her. Joseph sat opposite her in front of so many people.
“I’ve been to your office but you weren’t there. I’ve brought you lunch.”
Hayden heard a low voice.
However, Hayden was irritated and snapped her chopsticks, “This soup is too salty.”
The surroundings were silent at once.
The cook at the kitchen looked at Joseph, feeling tensed up after hearing Hayden’s words.
The crowd was looking at each other, drawing a cold breath.
Hayden was the only one who dared to snap her chopsticks in front of Joseph. Even if Joseph was photographed by reporters cheating her, no other woman dared to make him look bad besides Hayden.
Ms. Downey had a bad temper!
Joseph wasn’t mad but only frowned, “Follow me to the office. I’ve something to tell you about the news.”
Hayden crossed her arms and sat upright, glaring at Joseph, “If you have something to say, speak it here. We are all your staff. Let’s listen to this PR issue.”
The surrounding was even quieter. Everyone was tensed up at such circumstances.
After a moment of silence, Joseph looked around with cold eyes, “The Group has cleared up the PR issue and all staff should have seen the announcement. Does anyone still have any questions?”
The crowd held their breath. This was a simple question!
“No. It’s all fake news. It’s just an artist hyping…”
Someone said, and the crowd came to heel gradually.
Amidst a cacophony of noise, Joseph stood up, leaned over the table, getting closer to Hayden, and said in a low voice, “But I want to talk some personal matter with you. I’ll be waiting you at the office.”
Hayden clenched her fist, tilting her head while curling her lips as she felt his warm breath, “Alright.”
She would like to hear what he would say to clear up all the mess he had made.
The two of them left, causing a furore to rise in the cafeteria. Except for the cook that Hayden criticized for making the soup too salty, all the hotel staff discussed the scene just now.
“Ms. Downey is not any ordinary woman. She can lose her temper very easily. Mr. Beckham was one- in-a-million, but it seems that just only Hayden that could subdue him! I bet that she must be the president’s first choice wife.”
“I don’t think so. If Mr. Beckham really likes this woman’s temper, why would he still cheat on her then? I think it’s just the novelty of the moment. Men love to be respected. Ms. Downey was making him look bad just now. They won’t get along.”
The crowd was speechless.
The office was isolated from all those discussions outside. Hayden closed the door. She appeared calm but having a sense of contempt, “Go ahead. There’s no one here.”
