Chapter 269: You Seduced Me First
Chapter 269: You Seduced Me First
“So they did bring me dinner. Why can’t he tell me that? What a weirdo.”
Benjamin twitched his lips in disgust and mumbled. Looking at the food on the table, his heart felt warm.
The colour of the night covered Nanking city. The lights in the city became the stars in the night skies.
Hayden walked out of her bathroom after a shower. She stopped the moment she saw the person in her room.
“Damn, why didn’t I lock the door?”
Too many things happened in one day. Hayden was exhausted, so she headed into the shower once she got into her room. Hayden totally forgot about locking the door.
“What are you doing here?”
Joseph was sitting on the couch near the balcony. He was holding a book Hayden was reading before bed. It was A Brief History of Time by Stephen Hawking. Joseph raised his head when he heard Hayden’s question. He closed the book and dodged her question.
“What a good book to read before bed.”
“You’re overthinking. I read it because I could easily fall asleep reading it.” Hayden kept her arms crossed and kept her distance from Joseph. The safe distance Hayden took was the width of a bed.
“Instead of looking at what I read before bed, you should be knocking on Benjamin’s door before he falls asleep, or you’re going to squeeze into Noah’s bed again.”
Joseph frowned, “I haven’t showered yet.”
“Then go shower. There’s a bathroom outside.”
“The showerhead was broken. The water won’t come out.”
“That’s impossible.”
Hayden glared at him.
“Go and see for yourself.” Joseph didn’t argue at all. He put the book aside and stood up.
“Let’s go.”
Hayden didn't believe the showerhead was broken. Benjamin lived here for so many days, and she would use the guest bathroom once a while. The showerhead was never broken.
After five minutes, Hayden frowned as she held the broken showerhead.
“See, I’m not lying.” Joseph’s voice rose from behind.
“Then… Take a shower in my bathroom and come out after that.”
Hayden felt speechless. She put the showerhead back in place, “Remember to call the management office if you’re at home tomorrow. Ask them to send a plumber.”

Joseph replied immediately. He took a glance at the main switch of the water tank, and there was a cunning look in his eyes.
It was quiet in the master bedroom. Hayden was reading the Brief History of Time on the couch. There wasn’t any noise in the room other than the sound of gushing water from the bathroom.
Physics was a bore to Hayden, and she started to doze off. Hayden picked a medical book from the shelf, hoping to refresh what she learned in the past.
Hayden sighed when she saw the notes she made in the book last time.
If it wasn’t for that accident, she would have been a doctor in a hospital now.
The light in the hallway came through from the crack of the door. A kid’s voice rose as the doorknob turned.
“Mommy…”
Hayden raised her head and saw Stella looking at her in strawberry-pink pyjamas. Stella’s eyes blinked like stars in the night skies.
“Stella?”
Hayden was surprised, “Why you woke up?”
Stella ran to Hayden, but there was tiredness in her eyes.
“I’m so tired, but mommy, I have something to tell you.”
“What is it?” Hayden felt funny, “Did you dream about me taking you to the funfair, and you want me to do the same if you’re awake?”
Stella twitched her lips, “No, this is much more serious.”
“What’s wrong?”
“I was at lunch with Uncle Joseph today. He wanted Uncle Magnus to look for Noah’s mother. Are they looking for you?”
Hayden was shocked, “What are you talking about?”
Stella was a kid after all. She tried her best to listen to the conversation, but she wasn’t able to memorize it all. Stella could only recall bits and pieces from what Joseph and Magnus said this afternoon. Stella thought it might be significant and related to Hayden, so she kept reminding herself to tell Hayden about it after arriving home.
However, Hayden came back from work late, and Stella was already asleep by then. Stella only woke up when she heard movements in the living room.
Hayden extrapolated what Joseph asked Magnus to do after hearing what Stella told her. Hayden became nervous. Her fists clenched, and her face turned pale.
Joseph was intelligent, and he will soon find out Hayden was the girl whom he slept with six years ago. What should Hayden do if Joseph found out that she was Noah’s mother?
The sound of gushing water from the bathroom stopped.
Joseph’s hand wiped away the vapour on the mirror, and the reflection of his face showed in it. Every feature on his face was perfectly sculptured. Joseph dried his hair then walked out of the bathroom.
The room was quiet. A warm bed light was the only light source in the room, and the bed light made the room felt so cosy to sleep in.
Joseph suffered from insomnia for many years. Other than when Hayden was sleeping beside him, Joseph hardly had a good sleep. It is the reason why he liked to stay in Hayden’s room.
It seemed like Hayden was asleep. A strand of hair fell on the tip of her nose, and it flew with her breath.
Joseph opened the blanket and laid on the bed, then hugged Hayden into her arms.
“There’s no way she can chase me out now.”
Joseph sensed movements in his arm. Hayden was awake. Joseph lowered his head, and he saw Hayden’s squinted eyes with a hint of tiredness and confusion. She looked as innocent as a rabbit.
Joseph kissed Hayden on her forehead and whispered, “Go back to sleep. We’ll sleep like this tonight. I can’t sleep outside.”
Hayden reached out her hands and hugged Joseph’s waist. Her legs touched Joseph’s leg as she moved.
Joseph stunned. His voice sounded coarse.
“Hayden, stop moving.”
Hayden was confused. She continued to adjust her posture in Joseph’s arm and mumbled, “What? I don’t feel comfortable. I need to change my posture.”
The laziness in Hayden’s voice triggered the beast in Joseph’s heart. Joseph was already on top of Hayden the next second.
Hayden was startled, and her sleepiness got chased away. She quickly acted normal, “What are you doing?”
“Quit it,” Joseph laid down on Hayden. Hayden could felt his breath on her neck.
“You seduced me first.”
Hayden stunned, and she tried to push Joseph away, “I didn’t…”
Hayden was panicked, and she struggled. She was embarrassed.
But from the way Joseph saw it, Hayden was being shy.
Joseph loved the way Hayden looked shy. He couldn’t control the beast in his heart anymore. He kissed Hayden and stopped her from explaining. His hands controlled her body and her soul. Both of them indulged in the moment of love and lust.
