Chapter 317 Live For Oneself
Chapter 317 Live For Oneself
The eroticism in the atmosphere and the owner’s stare made Hayden blush immediately. She whirled and ran out the shop.
“Are you kidding me? We’re adults, buddy, your girlfriend’ shiest I’ve…”
He saw Lyon’s face before he finished, wrapped in straps, Lyon looked just like a mummy. Apparently, the boy was even shyer then the girl.
Seriously, do you really have to wrap yourself like this?
Slightly, Lyon nodded to the owner. Hidden by mask and glasses, his expression was obscure to the owner. He ran out to chase Hayden, laughter in his eyes.
Unlike the innocence or glamour he used to have in his eyes, phony, the laughter he had in his eyes now was the most sincere feeling he’d had in these years.
“Sorry.”
Hayden apologized when Lyon caught up to her.
“I didn’t know it was a sex product shop.”
“It’s alright.” There was joy in his voice. “Don’t talk I’m a child, I’m a grown-up too.”
We both being an adult is exactly the embarrassing part. Hayden thought to herself.
To avoid the madness that just happened before, Hayden decided to go back to the hotel where Lyon lived and booked a room there too.
“Here’s your room card, Miss.”
Hayden entered the elevator alone after she got her room card.
Thought there was certain code in the hotel to ban staff from violating guests’ privacy, you could not make that everyone would follow the code. To avoid necessary trouble, Lyon had gone upstairs before.
There’s the balcony on each floor of the hotel. But it was so cold that everyone chose to stay in their room instead of hanging out at the balcony.
Hayden found no sight of Lyon when she got there, the cold wind gave chills to her. She was regretting agreeing to stay outside for a while with Lyon now.
“Hayden.”
Growing up outside the country, Lyon had an awkward accent. But somehow he pronounced her name perfectly. Hayden turned around to look at Lyon; he changed on a thick coat, a blanket draping from his arm. He must’ve gone back to his room, small wonder he’s late.
“Put this on, the wind is too cold.”
He covered the blanket on Hayden.
Hayden felt much warmed wrapped in the blanket.
“Thanks.”
“No problem.” Lyon smile. Without his disguise, he looked just like a seventeen-year-old teenager when he smiled.
Hayden kind of found the same quality on Freddie, but he had an aggression that Lyon didn’t have.
They both called Hayden the same way but sounded differently. Freddie sounded like a confident teenager whereas Lyon sounded like innocent child, like a son.
She coughed at the thought of that and averted her eyes from Lyon.
“Milk tea?”
“It’s still warm?”Hayden gave Lyon a surprising look. “you held them in your arms all the time? They didn’t spill?”
Lyon nodded and blinked.
Under the starry sky, they lied on chairs, chatting, a table standing between them.
“Lyon, you know what? No matter whether a person can get over his past or not, he has to live on, time won’t stop for him to think it through. And if you dwell on your past for too long, it would become so difficult when you want to get out of it.”
Lyon took a sideway glance at the milk tea on the table. Hayden’s was half empty. Looking closely under the light, Lyon could see some grains at the bottom.
“Hayden, you must have some really nice friends.” Lyon raised his head and looked at the drowsy girl at his side, conflicted.
“Why are you so credulous?”
Hayden only felt dizzier and ended up falling asleep in the chair. Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org exclusive © material.
Midnight, faint and yellowish light shed over the hotel room.
At the balcony, somebody’s whisper broke the silence of the night.
“It’s all taken care of, you’ll have the photos tomorrow morning.”
“…”
“I owe you nothing now, and don’t forget what you promise me.”
“…”
Lyon took a huff of cigarette after he hung up the phone. Tossing the cigarette butt in the bin, he left the balcony en=and entered the room.
When he shouldered in the room, a cold breeze drifted in. The girl in the bed shivered.
Lyon walked up to the bed and pulled the quilt on the girl up a little bit.
“Sorry, Hayden. One has to live for his own benefits.”
Next day morning.
Hayden’s head ached exquisitely when she woke up. She felt like there was a stone on her, so huge that she could barely move.
The first thing she saw was the white ceiling. The room was dim, but the light seeping through the curtains told her it was morning now.
All of a sudden, the door was pushed open and light suffused the room.
“Joseph?” Frowning, Hayden raised her hand to ward off the light.
A cold breeze grazed over her when she pulled her hand out of the quilt. Something was wrong, she realized.
She’s naked.
Joseph stood at the door. When he saw Hayden was naked, the anxiety in his eyes vanished and was replaced by shock and anger.
He strode into the room, barged into the bathroom, searched for something.
“What are you looking for?”
Strenuously, Hayden sat up. Her head was all in a mess, she just asked the question subconsciously.
Soon, Joseph got out of the bathroom with an expensive man watch in his hand.
“Tell me. What is this?”
