Chapter337 He’s Great
Chapter337 He’s Great
Before the video was restored, they could still pay some sections of it, in which they saw Stefan before. But they didn't know Stefan then, so it barely meant anything to them.
Plus, there were dozens of apartments in Lanxi Town. It wouldn’t be weird that Stefan lived in Caesar’s as a college student on travel. So Joseph held no suspicion in the first place.
But more and more evidences indicated that Stefan was involved in the accident.
“Mr. Joseph. I suggest that let the police handle this if Stefan is involved.”
Mark’s voice reverberated in the room.
Joseph said grimly. “Not now. Keep investigating. As for Stefan, we can handle him later.”
“Are you worrying that Miss Hayden might…”
Joseph frowned, but didn’t reply to that. “How about another errand I assigned you.”
He was talking about the imposter who claimed to be Noah’s mother. Her real name was Lola Holmes. She must be instructed by someone, and Joseph had to figure who it was. Otherwise, there could be consequences.
“We found her already. She’s working at the bar now. But a rich merchant kept her as mistress so she hasn’t showed up for a while. We have people watching the bar 24/7, hopefully, they would bring us good news soon.”
Joseph nodded, gloomy.
“You know what to do when you find her.”
Mark hadn’t seen such a creepy expression on Joseph for long. Startled, he nodded hurriedly.
“I know.”
Joseph read the files in his hands after Mark left, he was conflicted.
It’s true that he told Mark to cut Stefan some slack because of Hayden, but not totally rue. He did it partly because of Hayden and partly because he didn’t believe Stefan would murder a person.
Once the police was involved, they’re bound to find out the violation he committed outside the campus as a private detector sooner or later. And when they did, Stefan might be expelled from the school.
As for Caesar, he could just ask him in person.
After having taken care of his work of the day, he checked the time. It was three o’clock now. That’ll give him enough time to pick up the kids and ask Stefan about Caser afterward.
In the Nanking Fourth Military Region Hospital.
“These tangerines are so great!”
Lying in bed, Scarlet Lane said to Rebekah sweetly.
Peeling an apple beside the bed, Rebekah smiled tenderly when she heard Scarlet . “I’ll buy some more later if you like them so much.”
“More?” Stefan raised his head from behind his computer, “Don’t you see the swells on her lips? She got them by eating those tangerines. I fear that she cannot even shit if she eats more.”
“You are the one who can’t shit.” Scarlet gazed at him angrily. “You are just being jealous that your mom bought tangerines for me. And I’m not sharing them with you.”
“Cool. Buy her some more then, mom. And I’ll visit her at the anorectal department.”
“Stefan.”
Rebekah peered at him. “Watch your tongue when you’re talking to a girl.”
“Listen to your mom, Stefan.” Scarlet glanced at Stefan contemptuously.
“You did find a good backer.”Stefan twitched his mouth and closed his laptop. “I’ll leave now, since I’m not welcome here.”
“Wait, where are you going?” Scarlet blurted.
“None of your business. My mom became yours now, what am I still doing here then? I won’t be here anymore, goodbye.”
“I didn’t…”Scarlet stuttered, “I, I was just joking…”
Rebekah took note of her will to keep Stefan with him. Amused, she thought Scarlet was so cute.
“Don’t tease her, Stefan. Scarlet is a straight forward girl, you know that better than after being classmate for three years with her.”
Scarlet paused, confused.
With a sly look on his face, Stefan said complacently. “That’s not straightforward, that’s stupid.”
He then peered at Scarlet . “There’s seminar at school tonight and I was summoned. Send to message of what you want for tomorrow’s breakfast to my phone later.”
Scarlet realized she was tricked now, sulky and pouty. But when she heard the later half of Stefan’s talked, she smiled.
She kept smiling even when Stefan was gone. Rebekah looked at her helplessly.
“You really like him, don’t you?”
Scarlet paused, then grabbed her quilt shyly. “He’s great.”
“That could only come out of your mouth.” Rebekah passed the apple to her. “Here, eat the apple. I’m not buying tangerines tonight, I’ll buy some tea to wash down.”
“Sure. I love whatever you buy.”
Rebekah shook her head heplessly.
Stefan saw Joseph at the exit of the parking lot when he left the hospital. He wanted to shun him but could only choose to confront it since it was too late.
“What are you doing here? Hayden is not here today.”
“I’m not here for her.”
Joseph studied him, “I have to ask you something.”
“What is it?” Stefan clutched his bag nervously.
“Half a year ago…”
Noticing the people coming and going, Joseph frowned. “It’s not the place to talk here. We need to find somewhere quiet. Where are you going? I’ll give you a drive.”
Stefan found back his composure, said, “The school.”
From the way Joseph talked, Stefan assumed that he was not here for his mother. If he knew Rebekah was Stefan’s mother, he wouldn’t have been talking so calmly.
“Alright.” Joseph nodded, “The car’s in the lot.” All rights © NôvelDrama.Org.
The automatic door at the entrance of the hospital opened as the tow of walk head abreast towards the parking lot. A woman in green holding a grey canvas bag came out.
Rebekah caught sight of Stefan immediately. And suddenly, she seemed to remember something and yelled at him.
“Stefan!”
Then in sync, Stefan and Joseph both turned their head around.
