“What nonsense are you talking about?”

Eric lifted her into his arms and gently placed her on the bed. Eileen’s head sank into the pillow, and in the soft moonlight, she looked up at the tall figure of the man standing over her. He took off his jacket and leaned closer. “Did you enjoy the fireworks? Do you need me to remind you of what you did?”

Eileen propped herself up on her hands, but suddenly her legs were pulled out from under her. She found herself lying back down with him on top of her. She felt his passionate lips. haphazardly kissing her neck.

“Are you jealous, Eric? What gives you the right to be jealous? Don’t forget what Will told today! At the dinner table. I can’t believe you didn’t notice. Father asked me to win over Jasper. If Jasper asks, aren’t you afraid I’ll expose you? When the time comes, not only the Smith family, but Father as well, won’t let you off the hook! Think about it! Your impulsive actions might ruin everything you’ve carefully planned!” Eileen said.

He paused, propping himself up, his gloomy eyes fixed on her. His mouth curled cruelly, resembling a demon, forming a slight smirk. “So what? What I want doesn’t interfere with what I’m about to do now.”

For a brief moment, he wanted to pin her down and ravish her mercilessly, disregarding all propriety. He wanted to see her cry in pain and beg for mercy.

However, he still had a shred of sanity that suppressed the impulse.

To satisfy his physical desires, there wasn’t just one way. He had countless methods he could continuously demand from her.

He reached out, gripping her neck with a force that was neither too light nor too heavy. Leaning in close to her ear, he whispered, “If I ever find out that you’ve been with Jasper, I’ll make sure you won’t be able to leave the bed for three days and three nights. I can back up my words!”

“Eric, you’re such a brat.” She bit down on his shoulder.

The man groaned in pain.

Two hours later, Eileen’s skin was flushed as if she had just soaked in a hot spring. She stood by the bed, her eyes filled with resentment as she stared at the man who was adjusting his

trousers.

Eric had indeed satisfied himself, but Eileen felt a tingling sensation all over her body from his teasing. That kind of physical feeling, neither here nor there, made her even more

uncomfortable.

Eileen’s legs went weak. She bent over to pick up the clothes on the floor and lifted the quilt to get out of bed, but as soon as her feet touched the ground, her legs gave way, and she fell onto the cold floor. A wave of chill swept over her, causing goosebumps to rise on her arms.

She waited for the man to approach her. He bent over, his index finger hooking her black. lace underwear on the edge of the bed. He was the epitome of a refined scoundrel.

Eileen’s face turned red. She stood up, snatched it away in an instant, and shoved it under the bed. “Can’t you be less disgusting?”

“When you were taking it off, why didn’t you say it was disgusting?” He smirked, lifting the woman who was barely dressed, carrying her into the bathroom, and tossing her into the bathtub.

Holding the showerhead, the hot water cascaded onto her snow-Blake skin. Eileen hugged her knees, her chest and back adorned with the marks left by a man.

Thankfully, it was winter, so the thick clothes she wore could conceal them well.

The hot water soaked her long hair, cascading down. Eileen lowered her head and said. “You can leave. I can wash myself.” © 2024 Nôv/el/Dram/a.Org.

“Make another move, and I won’t mind doing it again.”

He took in her perfect figure, examining it from head to toe.

Eric squeezed some shower gel, applying it from her back all the way to her chest.

Afterward, he slowly moved downward.

In their past lives, they had done such things countless times every night.

Eric enjoyed the sensation of a smooth palm gliding over her skin.

But gradually, Eileen began to sense that something was wrong.

Grasping his hand, alarm bells rang loudly.

“What are you trying to do?”

“I’m just going in a little bit. You shouldn’t hold it in. It might be harmful if you suppress it too much.”

Eileen was both angry and annoyed. “I’m not like you. Take your hand back now!”

Eric’s eyes narrowed. “Do you want me to penetrate you? If you bleed, I’ll deal with you right away. Move by yourself.”

“Eric! Aren’t you ashamed to say such things?”

“Be a good girl!”

They spent over an hour in the bathroom, arguing.

Eileen felt a sense of floating and sinking, finally finding satisfaction. She was completely exhausted and weak. The man pulled her out of the water, moved her aside, wrapped her in at bath towel, and dried her hair.

Eileen’s cheek touched the pillow, and she instinctively rolled to the middle of the bed.

In the middle of the night, she felt a wave of intense heat, prompting her to kick off the blanket to cool down. However, not long after, she felt as if she was embracing a large furnace. She was too tired to move, so she decided to just let it be.

When the first light of dawn seeped in through the cracks in the curtains, she felt some movement by the bed. Eileen found it a bit noisy. Pulling the blanket over herself, she curled up in her warm cocoon and drifted back into a deep sleep.

Eric, dressed in his finest clothes, glanced back at the figure bulging under the covers. His lips involuntarily curled up.

The flight from Remdik arrived in Hulbury at eight o’clock.

At nine o’clock, Elm disembarked from the plane and immediately rushed to a hospital.

At the flower shop downstairs, he bought a bouquet of hyacinths.

With the flowers in hand, he entered the inpatient department.

Upon reaching the fifteenth floor ward, a nurse emerged from inside.

“Mr. Elm,” the nurse said.

“Is she awake?”

“Not yet. The patient fell asleep at four o’clock this morning.”

Eim nodded. “I understand. You can continue with your work.”

“Okay, Mr. Elm.”

Ruth’s asthma would flare up from time to time. Recently, with the cold weather, a slight

carelessness would result in Ruth falling ill overnight.

Upon receiving the news, Elm immediately rushed back.

Elm entered the ward and settled onto the couch, passing the time by playing with his phone.

Unbeknownst to him, he dozed off while lying on the couch.

After an uncertain period of time, he felt a slight movement.

Elm woke up.

Noticing Ruth’s pale and feeble face, Elm sat up. “When did you wake up?”

Ruth, draped in a shawl, had her long, silky hair flowing down, giving her the appearance of a dignified lady. She sat beside him and gently smiled, placing the fallen blanket back over his legs. “I haven’t

been awake for long. I apologize for causing you worry. This old ailment of mine acts up occasionally. There was no need for you to rush back so urgently.”

Elm casually replied, “Now that everything is taken care of, we can celebrate the New Year together today. What would you like to eat? I’ll prepare it for you!”

Ruth shook her head. “I’ve seen the photos you took. They’re beautiful. Does she like them?”

“Yes,” Elm responded.

“That’s all that matters.” Ruth looked at him, softly stroking his hair. “You’ve grown up, Elm. You’ve become handsome and found a girl you’re fond of. Remember to express your feelings to her. If you don’t speak up, she won’t know. You’ll be graduating next year, won’t you? Don’t wait until then and miss the opportunity. If you do, you’ll have regrets for the rest of your life.”

Elm picked up an apple and started peeling it. “Let’s wait a little longer! It’s too early to discuss these matters now. It could distract her from her studies. Besides, she’s not exactly the brightest.” He pointed to his own head as he spoke, criticizing her, but whenever he mentioned her, his eyes and eyebrows were filled with joy.

“Have you visited the Smith residence?” she inquired.
