Chapter 74 Beware Of Eric
Today marked the day of the art exhibition.
Eileen hain’t forgotten, so she intentionally woke up earlier to freshen up. She dressed herself in a Blake cashmere coat, a black knitted long skirt, and warm fluffy thermal leggings underneath. The weather that day was gloomy, with temperatures hovering around zero degrees.
The weather in Hulbury had been as unpredictable as a roller coaster ride lately. Frost had already formed in the flower beds of the mansion, and the maple leaves, which were green. just yesterday, had turned red overnight.
The layer of Blake frost covering everything was so chilling to behold.
With her head bowed, Eileen buried her face in her scarf, her cheeks slightly flushed from the cold.
I wonder if it will snow today.
As soon as the taxi arrived, Eileen hastily opened the door and got in.
Eileen disliked keeping people waiting, so she set off half an hour early. By the time she arrived, a long line had already formed at the entrance of the exhibition hall, with everyone clutching a ticket in their hand.
Within ten minutes of Eileen’s arrival, a Cayenne pulled up.
From the car, Jasper looked out the window and saw Eileen, dressed in Blake, hopping in place on the steps. A smile tugged at his lips. “Stop here!”
Fabian responded, “Understood, Mr. Smith.”
Eileen grumbled to herself. If I had known it would be this chilly, I would have worn an extra pair of socks. My feet are freezing!
“Ms. Eileen…”
A familiar voice called out from behind her. Eileen turned around to see Richard and a person sitting in a wheelchair.
Jasper smiled slightly. “I apologize for keeping you waiting.”
Eileen hurriedly replied, “No, no, I just arrived as well. Shall we go inside then?”
“Ms. Eileen…” Richard called out to her. “We won’t be going in. Could you please help take

care of Mr. Smith?”
Fabian tactfully pretended to answer a phone call, then turned and left.
Richard followed suit, leaving Jasper behind.
“I’m sorry to have to trouble you.”
“Don’t worry. Aren’t you cold dressed like that? It might snow today! Are your hands cold?” Eileen fussed like a mother hen as she touched his hand, which felt as cold as ice. “I knew you. wouldn’t wear gloves. I brought an extra pair for you.”
Eileen pulled out a pair of black leather gloves from her bag. She had originally planned to give them to Eric, but Vera had beaten her to it. In her frustration, Eileen had thrown them. into her wardrobe, never expecting that they would come in handy today.
Jasper’s hands were slender and well-defined. Eileen opened the glove and he slipped his hand in. She helped him adjust each finger into place, and it fit perfectly. “Here, this is for you too,” she said.
“What is this?” Jasper had never been taken care of proactively before. So far, everyone would only act upon his words.
“This is for keeping your hands warm. If your hands are cold, just slip them in like this, and they won’t be cold anymore.”
Jasper nodded. “I’ve never seen this before. But now that you’ve given me this, what about you?”
Eileen showed him the fluffy, adorable gloves in her hand. “I have one too. Sit tight; we’re lining up to go in.”
“All right.”
Eileen pushed him from behind when she suddenly stopped. “I almost forgot.”
She pulled out another scarf and wrapped it around Jasper’s neck. “I invited. you the temperature has dropped significantly. I wouldn’t want you to catch a cold.”
here, and
In her previous life, Eileen devoted all her thoughts and efforts to Eric. She was always worried about him getting tired or cold. Whenever he was about to leave for work, she would. check how many layers of clothing he had on, and if she thought it wasn’t enough, she would insist on him wearing more.
She would iron each piece of clothing he was going to wear the next day and hang them up so he wouldn’t have to rush to find them in the morning.

He had a habit of carelessly misplacing things, and then he couldn’t find them.
How could he? After all, she was the one who tidied up the entire house.
When it came to his affairs, Eileen would handle everything personally. She worried for over a decade about a man who didn’t love her, and like a doting mother, she made sure to attend to every minute detail. Exclusive content © by Nô(v)el/Dr/ama.Org.
Even now, her habit of taking care of others hadn’t changed at all.
Sometimes, she feared that she might talk too much and become annoying.
The exhibition hall was air-conditioned, so it wasn’t too cold.
As she looked at the paintings. Eileen didn’t want to miss a single detail with every glance.
Beyond surprising her, Edward left her mostly astounded.
These paintings were not lifeless; instead, they exuded a certain warmth as though they were alive.
Whether it was the scenery or the portraits, they were all very
lifelike.
Each painting was framed and guarded. No one was allowed to approach, as any of these paintings could potentially become extinct, and their prices at an auction would be incalculable.
“Every painting he creates is remarkable, isn’t it?”
“You admire his work that much?”
“When I was eight years old, I playfully climbed onto my mother’s bookshelf. The bookshelf toppled over, burying me in a pile of books. That’s when I saw a photo that had fallen out of one of the books. It was a painting by Mr. Edward, and I still vividly remember it was titled. Fantasia. It depicted the most beautiful aurora I’ve ever seen, its light streaking across the night sky, a dazzling dream in a frigid world. It’s difficult for a paintbrush to capture such a scene in the icy Arctic air, but he managed to do it. He truly is amazing! It’s quite a shame. that I’ve only seen it in photos, though, never with my own eyes. I believe it must be truly breathtaking.”
Jasper said, “You will see it one day. As long as you desire something, you will achieve it.”
Eileen quickly snapped out of her thoughts. “It doesn’t matter anymore. So much time has passed since then. Just being able to attend his art exhibition and see his paintings with my own eyes has already made me very happy.”
They finished exploring one floor, and there were still two more to go.

Feeling tired, they sat in the lounge for a while to rest.
“Do you need to use the restroom?” Jasper asked.
Jasper’s teasing remark left Jasper momentarily speechless. “If you want to assist me, I wouldn’t mind,” he replied.
Eileen blushed. What was she saying?
Quickly, Eileen stammered, “I-I can… have the staff help you…”
How embarrassing! What am I even saying!
“No worries, I was just joking. I don’t need to use the restroom yet, so go ahead,” Jasper reassured her.
“Then wait for me here and don’t wander off. I’ll be back soon,” Eileen instructed.
The amusement in Jasper’s dark eyes grew. “Alright.”
The place was vast, and Eileen had to walk a considerable distance, asking several people for directions before finally locating the restroom.
The line for the women’s restroom was quite long. Suddenly, she felt a heavy pat on her shoulder.
Turning her head, Eileen noticed something on her shoulder, causing her to quickly move away in fear.
“Hahaha! I can’t stop laughing! Look at how scared you are! You look ridiculous!” Charlie laughed, holding a glove shaped like a frog’s head that he had acquired from who knows.
where.
Upon seeing the three of them, Eileen was somewhat surprised. It’s not the weekend, so why are they here?
Nevertheless, Eileen had no intention of entertaining them. “How immature.”
Charlie remarked, “Elm, she called you immature.”
Elm casually approached with a beautiful woman on his arm, his expression carefree. “Fool. If you touch her, you’ll have to watch out for Eric, the mad dog who will throw you into the
sea.”
Charlie patted his chest in mock fear. “Oh, I’m so scared.”
Eileen pursed her lips, wondering when the three of them had developed an appreciation for art.
Of all the luck, I had to run into them here.
