Chapter 734 - Fresh Start
Chapter 734: Fresh Start
Although there weren’t many households in this village, there was a small grocery store. She could get her daily necessities easily and there was an abundance of meat and vegetables for her to buy.
The owners of her rental home had left to start a business in the city centre. Thus, they were able to rent their home to her.
The property was quite clean. The owners had only brought their clothes with them and the space was well-furnished. Jiamu spent some time cleaning the place up before visiting the grocery store.
As she walked along the asphalt path, villagers who passed by her every so often would greet her.
“Little girl, you’re not a local are you? What brings you to our village?” An old lady asked her.
“I just rented a home here. It sits right on the mountain,” she responded politely.
She planned on spending some time here to give herself a break from the city noise and have a quiet life. Thus, it was necessary for her to build amicable relations with the villagers here.
“Oh, it must be the Li family’s home. They all left for the city centre.” The old lady appeared very familiar with this news. She then sized her up. “Little girl, you’re quite a looker. Are you married?”
Sun Jiamu nodded. However, she did not say that she was already divorced.
“You’re already married?” The old lady was slightly disappointed. “There are a lot of single men in our village. I was hoping to introduce a partner for you if you were single. I’m Grandma Liu. I often match-make the young people in our village.”
Sun Jiamu smiled politely in response. She met several other villagers on her way and chatted with them lightly.
She then arrived at the small grocery store and discovered that it was located inside a villager’s home. It was a newly built, three-storey property. The space on the first floor had large windows all around and the shelves were well-stocked.
Various items were being sold.
Sun Jiamu hesitated in the yard. She wanted to purchase something, but her upbringing taught her that it was inappropriate to enter someone’s home without permission.
A young man spoke up behind her. He used the slang common in their village. “Excuse me, you are…”
Sun Jiamu turned around to see a young man in his early twenties. He appeared especially tall and tanned. His five features were rather charming and he was quite handsome. He was dressed in a singlet, a pair of jeans and a pair of slippers. He appeared to be quite easy going.
The man realised that he had never seen her around. He immediately repeated himself without using any slang. “Are you here to purchase something?”
He sized her up with his ink-black pupils and discovered that she was especially beautiful. Her figure was also perfect. All rights © NôvelDrama.Org.
She was definitely the most beautiful woman in their village.
“Yes.” Sun Jiamu nodded. “May I know when the owner of this shop will return?”
“I am the owner.” The man stepped into the living room and turned left into a room stocked with items. “Go ahead and take a look.”
Sun Jiamu headed in and picked up a basket from the corner of the room. She filled it with a bottle of oil, a packet of salt, a bottle of soy sauce, some seasoning powder, a bag of rice as well as other necessities.
After adding a bottle of shampoo and the likes, she managed to fill up two baskets.
She paid for the items and picked up two large grocery bags with some difficulty. She planned to head up the mountain immediately.
“Where do you stay?” The man asked. “I’ll help you carry the things back.”
She glanced at him in confusion.
“I’m Lin Haisheng.” He explained. “I don’t have any bad intentions. It just seems difficult for you to carry that back all by yourself, so I offered to help.”
Sun Jiamu deliberated over it and nodded. “In that case, I’ll trouble you. Thank you.”
She had parked her car in the yard and regretted not driving it over. She wouldn’t have troubled him otherwise.
