Chapter 808 – Nydia’s Priggish Nonsense
Pippa has been monitored at the hospital for three days and has finally come to some conclusions.
Nydia and Jesse go to the hospital to sit in Vincent’s office to talk about it.
There was tons of information on the table.
“It’s a bit of a mess, so you guys have a look at it.”
Jesse wasn’t a medical student, but he had done some research back in the day during his medical studies and was able to read some of it, plus Vincent’s information was done in great detail with comparisons so it didn’t look so tiring.
“Have you guys found anything yet?”
“Pippa’s heart is really strong, judging from all the values, her heart is healthy, but her other organs are showing a slow decay.”
“Right!” Vincent nodded.
“This is her heart, the heartbeat is fast, but to maintain such a fast heartbeat, she doesn’t have any heart disease, but in that case, to maintain the blood supply and normal activity of the heart, the other organs must be sacrificed.”
“That’s why all the other organs are slowly starting to get bad.”
“So in that case, Alex developed this drug to preserve his heart?”
Vincent thought it was, otherwise there was no way to explain why it was happening.
“By the way, is Cade’s case similar?”
“Similar.”
Taking Cade’s autopsy report out and analyzing it.
“Actually, his heart was still not a big problem when he died, but the other organs couldn’t withstand it, so he died.”
Had Cade survived, the presentation would probably have been similar to Pippa’s.
“Why would Alex preserve his heart? Couldn’t they have gotten better together since they could work on a drug like that?” Nydia wondered somewhat.
At this time the nurse suddenly ran and knocked on the door, “Vincent, it’s not good, the patient you took care of woke up and is going crazy, people can’t control her.”
Vincent and Jesse immediately rushed over, Nydia followed slowly, she was unable to keep up.
Pippa’s body was still tied to the bed, but the things that were tying her down were on the verge of holding her up, her strength was so great that it made the nurses in the ward look dumbfounded, how could anyone use such strength, horrible!
Vincent and Jesse went over and immediately sedated her, at least they had to slow her down.
“Jesse? Why am I here? What are you guys doing? Why are you tying me up?”
By this time Nydia finally came in panting.
“Nydia? it’s you, it’s you right? What are you doing? Why did you let them tie me up? Are you trying to get me killed?”
She struggled again, but invariably she was sedated and not as strong as before.
“You took that medication before, we need to do a follow up monitoring, if your monitoring is compliant we will continue to give you the medication.”
Upon hearing this, Pippa’s emotions were instantly less intense, but still agitated, but not defiantly intense, instead looking at Nydia with glowing eyes.
“And will give me the medicine yes? I feel so good now, this medicine is helping me so much.”
“Yes, we’ve found that you’re perfect for this medicine.”NôvelDrama.Org (C) content.
Pippa smiled and looked content.
“No Nydia, weren’t you against me taking this medicine before? What’s with this attitude now?”
“It was my fault for not realizing how good this drug was before, and now that we’ve got a proxy for it through Leonardo and the fact that you’ve taken it, we want to monitor your bodily functions.”
“You guys are so crafty, you spotted this business opportunity right away.”
Pippa was a little frustrated and regretful, she should have approached Leonardo for the agent of this medicine, this medicine could definitely save a lot of people.
Only she couldn’t contact Leonardo and didn’t know where Leonardo had gone.
“Where’s Leonardo? I want to meet her.”
“She’s gone back to the headquarters now, so I won’t be able to see her for a while.”
“You guys can let go of me now, I won’t mess around.”
Nydia signaled Vincent to open up for Pippa, Vincent and Jesse however were still worried.
Eventually it was untied for Pippa.
“Are you guys going to give me my medicine now?”
“We have to wait a little longer, you’ve already taken it for seven days before, you can’t take it for another seven days so soon, you need to wait a little longer to take it for seven days, your body will have a qualitative change, next you come to the hospital every day to do the test, and then after seven days, we’ll give you the medicine.”
“You have to come every day.” Pippa felt a little annoyed.
“If it bothers you forget it, we’ll go find someone else.”
“I can do it!” Pippa agreed immediately.
Pippa rested in the hospital for a couple hours letting Magnus come over and pick her up.
“Did you have a speech prepared or did you just react on the spot?” Vincent couldn’t help but ask Nydia, feeling like she almost lost it earlier, only for Nydia to open her eyes and say a bunch of nonsense that Pippa actually believed.
“I had thought about what would happen if she found out before, believing in the drug as much as she does, she must be okay with the rhetoric.”
“It’s a good thing you’re resourceful, otherwise I wouldn’t have known how to handle that situation, she woke up earlier than I expected.” Vincent was a bit backed up, “I was thinking of sending her back when we were done discussing the situation, it would have been much easier to explain when she woke up right at home.”
“She can’t be treated as a normal human being in her current condition and it makes sense that the estimation would be wrong.”
It would be much easier for them if Pippa came to the hospital every day for the next few days, after all, the data monitored in the waking state might be different as well.
“Let’s get something to eat before we discuss it.” Jesse was worried that Nydia was hungry, after all, one person can’t be hungry when they are eating three people’s portions now.
After eating, they continued their discussion on the issue they had just discussed.
Vincent had put off his surgeries for the past few days to study the problem full time.
“Do you guys think there’s a possibility that … Alex wants to transplant his good heart into someone else?” Vincent spoke with some hesitation.
“As crazy as this idea of mine is, so far, this explanation seems to be the most likely.”
Otherwise a healthy heart couldn’t survive for long in such a broken body, and then a new vessel for that heart would have to be found.
Nydia and Jesse were both stunned by Vincent’s idea.
“But it kind of doesn’t make logical sense, a heart transplanted into someone else’s body wouldn’t be him anymore, he’d just be in the form of a heart.”
Wouldn’t that be the same as giving his heart away willingly? That’s not Alex’s style ah.
“There have been some cases before is that some people who have heart transplants have their entire personality change and have a lot of memories that they don’t have.”
It was true that there were such cases, but it wasn’t something that could be ensured after all, what if such an exception didn’t happen?
“By that analysis, Alex is eighty percent sure if he would do that.” Jesse spoke up, “He wouldn’t do something he wasn’t sure of!”
