“What did he do?” | asked, my voice barely above a whisper.
She kept quiet, and | swallowed hard, my eyes darting nervously around the room. “He said he wanted to see you.” She finally said, her voice low.
My breath caught in my throat. “Who did he see?” | asked, my voice shaking slightly. “Just me and Harry,” she said, her eyes fixed on me.
leaned against the door, my head spinning. Why would Astel want to see me? What did he want? | shook my head, trying to clear my thoughts.
“What do you think he wants?” | asked Aisha, my voice quiet and uncertain.
“| don’t know,” she said, her voice small and unsure. “He just kept screaming that he wanted to see you. But Harry wouldn’t let him in, and he ordered the guards to throw him out.”
| nodded, my mind racing. What did Astel want? | shook my head, trying to clear my thoughts. “Did he come with Shantel?” | asked, my voice barely above a whisper. Aisha shook her head.
“No,” she said.
| leaned against the door, my eyes closed. | couldn’t help but feel that Astel’s sudden interest in me was a danger. What could he possibly want? Had Shantel caused more trouble? Was he trying to get me back?
“Do you think he wants you back?” Aisha asked, breaking the silence. | opened my eyes and looked at her. 10:50 Thu, 22 Feb GG Chapter 65
| burst into laughter, | tried to suppress my laughter, but the absurdity of the situation. was too much. Aisha stood there, looking completely perplexed.
“I'm sorry,
| didn’t mean to laugh,” | said, catching my breath. “It’s just... the idea of Astel wanting me back... it’s so absurd. He hated me before | left. Why would he want me back now?” | said, a smile still tugging at my lips. “I just find the whole idea ridiculous.”
Aisha shook her head. “I know, | know,” she said, “but you can’t blame me for asking.”
“That’s a very wrong suggestion, | just feel like something is wrong. Maybe Carl is sick
Shantel must have filled his ears with lies about us,” | muttered, as | tried to think of reasons why Astel would visit. or
She dragged a chair and sat down opposite me. “Actually, Astel had mentioned Carl’s
name.”
| sat down on the bed, the laughter gone from my face.
“He mentioned Carl’s name?” | asked, my heart racing.
Aisha nodded, her eyes solemn. “He was going to say something, but then Harry came in and dragged him by his shirt. He was yelling something about not wanting to see him. again.”
I sat there, my mind reeling. What was going on? Why would Astel mention Carl’s name? And what did Astel mean by not wanting to see him again?
“| feel like something isn’t right,” | said, a sense of unease settling over me. “What if Carl is in danger? What if he needs you?” Aisha’s gaze shifted away from me, her eyes unfocused. “I don’t know,” she said, her voice quiet and sorrowful.
My heart ached for her. | knew how much she cared for Carl, and | couldn’t imagine how hard it must be for her to not know what was happening to him.
“Do you think there’s something we can do?” | asked, feeling helpless.
“Nelly, honestly, | don’t think I'want to get involved in his life right now,” Aisha said, her voice heavy with emotion. “I have Harry by my side. He’s a good man, not a coward like Carl. | care about him as a wolf, but | don’t think | have feelings for him anymore.”
My eyes widened in surprise. | had no idea that Aisha had moved on from Carl. | thought she was still tied down to him, unable to let go of her feelings for him. | couldn’t help but feel a little jealous. How was she able to move on?
| stood up and pulled Aisha into a hug. Chapter 65 +
“Trust me, baby girl, I’m proud of you,” | said, my voice thick with emotion. “You don’t need to hold on to a love that’s not meant to be. You deserve better.”
We pulled away from the hug, and Aisha smiled at me. “It was easy for me because the Moon Goddess gave me a second chance right away,” she said, her eyes shining with gratitude.
| felt a pang of envy. Why couldn’t the Moon Goddess give me a second chance, too? | smiled back at her, my heart full of happiness for her, despite my own complicated feelings.
“So is it official between you two?” | asked, my voice light and genuine. | truly wanted Aisha to be happy, she deserves it. She rejected Carl because of me.
“| haven't actually told him yet,” she said, her voice soft and vulnerable. “Why?” | asked, curious and concerned. She took a deep breath, then spoke in a quiet voice.
“| just wanted to be sure that he was nothing like Carl. And now | know for certain.” | gave her hands a gentle squeeze.
“I'm glad you took the time to be sure of what you want. You deserve happiness, Aisha.” A small smile played on her lips. “Thank you, Nelly,” she said, her voice filled with gratitude.
We hugged each other again, and then pulled apart, laughing.
“Enough of this moping around,” she said, her voice bright and cheerful.
“Hopefully, Carl isn’t sick in such a way that he needs you,” | said, only half-joking. “And if he is, he'll figure it out. He’s smart enough to handle his problems.”
She flopped down on the bed next to me, and | laid back, staring at the ceiling. The room was silent, save for the sound of our breathing.
“| think Kex and Harry will be looking for us,” Aisha said, a note of amusement in her voice. “We just left the celebration without a word.”
| shrugged. “I don’t have the energy for a party right now,” | said, feeling a wave of exhaustion wash over me.
She laughed. “We both know we're hosting that party because of you,” she said. | rolled my eyes, but couldn’t help but smile. “Well, I've lost my party spirit,” | said, and the admission made us both chuckle.

We lay there in silence, the only sound the rhythmic ticking of the clock on the wall. After a while, Aisha spoke, her voice cutting through the quiet.
“Nelly,” she said, and | turned to look at her.
“Hmm?” | hummed in response..
“If Astel said he wanted you, would you accept?” she asked, and my heart skipped at beat. The question hung in the air, unanswered, as | turned my gaze back to the ceiling.
“Answer!” She demanded.
