Chapter 87

Chapter 87 Chapter 87. Nelly’s POV.

As we arrived at our pack, | stretched my arms and groaned, feeling the stiffness from the journey. | felt a pair of hands wraps around my waist, and | looked up to see Kex’s mischievous smile. He pressed a kiss to my nose, and my cheeks flushed red.

“Stop,” | said, playfully pushing him away. “We're outside, for goodness’ sake.” “Can't | even kiss my woman?” he said, his tone teasing. His words sent a flutter of butterflies through my stomach..

Harry cleared his throat, and | could see the amusement in his eyes. “Alright, let’s get down to business,” he said, turning his attention to the group.

| stifled a chuckle, shaking my head. | followed the others inside, feeling the stares of the servants and guards upon us.

It was almost as if they were surprised to see us, especially me. | didn’t have the energy to worry about what they thought. I simply wanted to focus on the war.

| sat down beside Kex, and the maids began to serve the food. | tried to focus on the meal, but | could feel Astel’s

es on me.

“Congratulations,” one of the maids said. “I heard you're now the Luna.” | nodded, flashing her a small smile.

“Thank you,” | whispered.

She seemed about to say something when Astel yelled, “Get out!” The words were harsh, and | rolled my eyes.

“| was just going,” the maid stammered. | put my hand on her arm, stopping her. | looked around the room, all eyes on me.

| took off the bracelet from my wrist and handed it to the maid. “A gift for you,” | said

with a smile.

“Thank you so much, my lady,” she said, her eyes wide with surprise.

“You're welcome,” | replied. “I would prefer if you just call me Nelly, you know,” | added, and the maid hesitated for a moment.

“Yes, of course, Nelly,” she said, nodding her head. “May the goddess bless you with many healthy children,” she said with a smile.

| let out a nervous chuckle, the thought of having children sending a jolt of nerves through my spine. She bowed down and then she left. Astel let out a low hiss and | chuckled.

As | ate, | could hear Kex and Astel talking about the war, their voices growing louder and more urgent. | suddenly realized that this place no longer felt like home to me. It was filled with nothing but painful memories..

“Are you okay?” | heard Aisha’s voice, and | looked up to see her face full of concern. “Yes,” | said, trying to muster a smile. “I’m fine.” She didn’t look convinced, but she didn’t push it. She turned her attention back to the conversation between Kex and Astel.

When we had finished eating, Astel showed us to our room. As the door closed behind us, | let out a sigh of relief. Kex turned to me. his eyes full of concern.

“Get some rest,” he said, pulling me into a hug. “Tomorrow will be a long day.” He placed a kiss on my neck, and | nodded.

He grabbed a towel and headed to the bathroom, leaving me alone in the room. | stood there for a moment, the events of the day swirling in my mind. | felt drained, my body and mind weary from the journey and the tension of war.

It was difficult to judge whether we would win the war. The odds were not in our favor. | wondered if we had made the right decision in joining the war. The thought of it made my headache, and | felt my stomach twist in knots.

| stood up, my legs feeling heavy as | dragged my feet to the dressing table. | found a bottle of pain relief and quickly swallowed a few pills.

| leaned against the mirror, staring at my reflection. My eyes were bloodshot, and my face was pale.

Suddenly, there was a loud explosion that shook the ground, knocking me off my feet. | fell hard to the floor, my breath catching in my throat. Everything around me was flying, the sound of crashing glass and breaking furniture ringing in my ears.

| could feel my heart pounding in my chest, my whole body shaking. | stayed there, frozen on the floor, as the sounds of battle raged around me. | knew the Rogue King had attacked us, and it was clear that we were not prepared for this.

The sound of battle gradually faded away, replaced by an eerie silence. | heard the door to the bathroom open, and Kex stepped out.

“Nelly, are you okay?” he called out, his voice thick with worry. | forced myself to my

feet, my legs feeling like jelly.

“I'm fine.” | said, my voice cracking. He walked over to me, concern etched on his face. He placed a hand on my shoulder and kissed my forehead.

“It's time to go to war,” he said, and | nodded, my heart racing.

“| know,” | said, my voice trembling.

He gathered his weapons and armor, donning them quickly. He looked back at me, his blue eyes piercing.

“Stay safe. Get dressed and always be close to Aisha,” he said, his voice low and serious.

“| will,” | said, and he nodded.

Then, without another word, he strode out of the room, his footsteps echoing down the hall. | stood there, alone, my heart racing.

| jumped as the door burst open, my heart racing as | saw Aisha standing in the doorway. Relief washed over me, and | let out a sigh.

Aisha had a smile on her face. She tossed me a sword, and | caught it, almost losing my balance.

“We have to go,” she said, and | nodded, my hands trembling as | gripped the sword.

The thought of killing Emily sent a rush of adrenaline through me, a strange energy building up inside me. We ran out of the room, my heart pounding as we made our way to the battlefield.

We charged into battle, my heart racing with rage. | raised my sword and ran towards the enemy. Then, in the distance, | saw a figure | recognized.

Emily stood on the battlefield, a smirk on her face. As | ran towards her, | saw her raise her bow and fire an arrow. | felt a chill run down my spine as | realized what she was doing. All content © N/.ôvel/Dr/ama.Org.
