Rekindling Her Affection (Sabrina and Nelson)

Chapter 53

As Gerald walked away, even his retreating figure seemed pitiful.

Sabrina's eyes inexplicably welled up with tears as she recalled the previous night when Gerald had arrived with a group of people to teach Amanda a lesson.

He had listened to her.

But before he left, he stood before her and said, "Sabrina, I'll always have your back. So, don't be afraid."

Sabrina had thought that not seeing Gerald meant they would sever ties completely. But who would have known that he would be so foolish?

Gerald genuinely had feelings for her.

Once Gerald disappeared from their sight, Nelson lazily leaned into his seat, signaling for the nurse to continue her application of the medication.

"Was it fun?"

Nelson glanced sideways at Sabrina, who was standing before him. He realized her expression was now indifferent, a stark contrast to how she had looked at Gerald.

"I'm helping you," said Nelson.

"You're helping me?"

Sabrina felt the whole situation was a joke.

Nelson continued, "Gerald's feelings for you are sincere. And it looks like you're also falling for him. So, I'm preventing you from messing up your marriage."

Abigail could no longer hold back and spat, "What the hell? You've got some nerve to lecture others about that! What a hypocrite!"

After all, news of Nelson and Pamela often went viral due to their frequent nights together. Abigail was seething with anger. She immediately took hold of Sabrina's hand and left.

However, Nelson remained calm.

He stared at Sabrina's retreating figure and remarked, "Come back soon."

"Dream on! She'll never return!" Abigail barked as she glared at him fiercely.

Even after Abigail had pulled Sabrina away, her rage persisted.

"What's his deal now? Is he addicted to sleeping with you?

"Judging from his behavior, it doesn't seem like he's interested in divorce anymore. How could he do this? Didn't you say he's been wearing someone else's wedding ring?

"He—What a jerk! I bet he gave you that emerald pendant back then to trick you into sleeping with him."

Talking about the past made Sabrina pause momentarily.

Then, she calmed her furious friend, saying, "There, there. At least he satisfies my needs, and I managed to get an extra ten million dollars."

"Ten million dollars?"

Abigail's anger subsided a little.

"Yeah. He's very generous to other women, isn't he? We're just having some fun, anyway. Don't be so upset, alright?" Sabrina comforted.

She no longer cared about Nelson. Given what had happened, Sabrina felt more at peace.

Abigail still felt sorry for her. Sabrina had once loved Nelson, but it was unreciprocated. And now that she had fallen out of love with him, she could not leave.

Following that, Sabrina asked Abigail to advise Gerald as it was inconvenient for her to go.

Having reached this point, Sabrina felt she shouldn't give Gerald any false hope. She figured it was best for him to forget about her.

"Alright, I understand. Don't worry about it. What about you? Are you going back?" Abigail asked with a frown.

"Yes. I need to talk to him," Sabrina answered.

Sabrina and Nelson could not divorce immediately. There were too many issues to sort through, so ending things abruptly wouldn't be appropriate.

By the time Sabrina returned, Nelson had already completed his wound care.

At that moment, he was on the phone.

"Why do you want to come over? My wife is here."

Sabrina could tell from his tone that the person on the other end of the line was most likely Pamela.

She sat on the bench, replying to Eva's messages while waiting for him to finish the call.

"Is there something you want to talk to me about?" Nelson inquired, looking at her sideways after hanging up.

Sabrina lifted her head to meet his gaze. Sometimes, it seemed like they could read each other's minds.

"Do you have time?" she countered.

It had indeed turned out to be a call from Pamela.

"Let's go," Nathan suggested, extending his hand to her.

Yet, Sabrina merely glanced at it briefly before shoving her hands into her coat pockets.

In the car, Sabrina looked at Nelson and asked, "Don't you think you've been too harsh on Gerald?"

He stared at her for a moment.

"Are you feeling sorry for him?"

Drawing in a deep breath, Sabrina responded, "Nelson, you know everything. There's nothing going on between me and Gerald. We've rarely had the chance to meet alone. Besides, you two are close. Isn't that too cruel?" NôvelDrama.Org owns this text.

Gerald had said she was faultless. She questioned what he'd done wrong instead.

"There's nothing going on between you two, huh? Yet, you're all chummy. You have video calls, and he even fought for you."

Sabrina could not help but think Nelson was being unreasonable.

"Before criticizing others, why don't you reflect on yourself first? Are you even aware of your relationship with Pamela? What gives you the right to point fingers at others? Should I use the same approach to keep her away from you?" she asked calmly.

However, Nelson saw that her eyes had turned red, shimmering with tears.

This was the first time she had brought up the matter herself. Suddenly, his spirits lifted, and he tilted his head to gaze at her intently.

Nelson found Sabrina attractive and captivating despite her stubbornness.

He leaned closer and responded, "If you want to keep her away from me, I won't interfere."

He gently patted Sabrina's back as he spoke, trying to coax her.

Sabrina refused to believe a word he said.

She sneered, "The matter with Gerald ends here. Don't lose control again."

Then, Nelson wrapped his arm around her waist. He stared at her red lips and suddenly lowered his head to kiss her. However, Sabrina pushed him away.

"Nelson Tucker, what are you trying to do?"

"Can't you see that I want to kiss you?"
