Chapter 53
"I really don't want to. Andy, if you miss me, I can accompany you on weekends. Didn't you pass me the keys?" Mayra tried to compromise. She detested the idea of living here. She didn't want to be involved with the Barlows anymore.
They both got into the back seat of the car after breakfast. It was quite a distance to her school, so she closed her eyes and dozed off. Thinking that she had fallen asleep, Anderson scooped her head carefully and rested it gently against his shoulder.
Mayra wasn't actually sleepy. She still couldn't shake off her motion sickness, and she felt nauseous after having breakfast.
"Are you uncomfortable?" Anderson finally realized something was off when he realized her eyes were wide open as she leaned against his shoulder.
"Yeah."
"Drive slower."
"Alright, Mr. Barlow," the driver answered.
Anderson uncrossed his legs. "Come lie down."
"Do I need to take off my shoes? I don't wanna dirty your car."
He frowned. "It doesn't matter."
As she reclined on his legs, he massaged her temples. "Feeling better now?"
"Yeah. My stomach doesn't feel that uncomfortable anymore."
Mayra was feeling much better now. Lessons were about to start in 30 minutes when they were about to arrive at her school. Seeing that

"Andy, can you just stop here I'll walk the rest of the way myself."
"Are you worried that people might gossip about it?" Anderson hit the nail on the head.
Mayra didn't attempt to sugarcoat it either. "Andy your car is too luxurious don't want people to misunderstand if they see it. Also, a lot of people don't know that you're my brother. If they find out, lcan't possibly survive in school
"Stop here." The car slowly came to a stop. "Be careful when you cross the road. I'll pick you up on Friday."
Mayra was slightly stunned. She had mentioned going over to his place on Friday after school as a casual remark. She was surprised that he took her seriously.
She still had to walk for another five minutes after she got out of the car. She spun around after a few steps. Realizing that Anderson had yet to leave, she quickened her pace.
The bus stop was right ahead. Mayra was just pondering whether she'd bump into Gordon when a bus zoomed past her and came to a halt at the bus stop. Its doors flung open, and people began shuffling out of the bus, including Gordon,
She took a step ahead and called out to him, "Gor-"Content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
Her voice trailed off when she saw Emily sidling next to him. The smile on her face waned.
Mayra was completely oblivious to the fact that someone in a car that was parked not far away had taken in all her expressions. Anderson withdrew his gaze coldly. "Drive!"
