Chapter 160 Show Her What I'm Made Of

Originally, Nathan was going to accompany Irene back to the country. However, the previous incident at

the factory had disrupted his plan; one of the disobliging workers had filed a lawsuit against him. As the

defendant, he wasn't allowed to leave the country. Nathan was distraught; he had no choice but to call

Jordan.

Jordan jumped up in anger when he heard Nathan tell him that Margaret had brought Eden back to the

country secretly. "For God's sake, what's wrong with you? Didn't you promise me that you would

protect Irene and Eden? How could you let that crazy woman snatch Eden away?"

"It's my fault. I had never for the life of me expected Edric's mother to come all the way here. I'm

worried about Irene going back to the country alone. On top of that, Eden's health is at stake. Please

help Irene. After I'm done handling some work stuff, I'll rush over immediately." Nathan felt culpable as

well. Joanne was the one who had started all this. If she had not revealed to Edric about Eden's

identity, Margaret would never have come to Mencodia and taken Eden away. Now that Eden was in

such a vulnerable state, if his condition worsened and something befell him, Irene would be devastated

for sure, and Nathan would never be able to forgive himself.

"Alright, I got it. I will keep an eye on Irene and help her get Eden back. The Myers are so

despicable! This time, I will make sure to show them what I'm made of."

Jordan knew that Nathan wasn't solely to blame for this matter. If anything, Joanne was the one to be

held accountable. This fiancee of his had earned her way deeper into his contempt, and he deeply

regretted how rash he had been with making that three-year promise to her. Right then, he wasn't even

aware of the fact that Joanne was the one who had spurred Margaret into abducting Eden back to

Nathan thanked Jordan and hung up the phone. After thinking for a while, he called Kinsey. He asked

her to pick up Irene at the airport if she was available and accompany her to find Eden.

After everything was arranged, Nathan returned home. Britney was waiting restlessly at home. When

she saw Nathan, she immediately asked, "How is it going? I heard from Joanne that Eden was taken

away by Margaret. Is it true?"

"It appears to be the case. John said that she brought two men and a child with her. The child's face

was covered by a coat so he didn't manage to get a good look. It must be Eden. The two men are

The day before, she was so glad to see Edric and Irene leave the White family. She reckoned that she

could finally heave a sigh of relief as Irene was finally getting what she deserved. She wanted Irene to

tremble in fear; she knew what Eden meant to Irene. Now that Margaret had taken him away, Irene had

no choice but to fight it out with Margaret to bring him back.

However, the Myers family was rich and powerful. There was no way Irene would be able to beat them.

Unless she went to Steven for help. Now that would be exciting. Anyway, she had already promised

Margaret that they would keep in touch so she could be kept in the loop about what was happening.

Just then, when she'd heard that Nathan had called Jordan to ask him to aid Irene, Joanne was

smoldering with fury. She had been so close to rushing downstairs and taking her anger out on Nathan.

Nathan knew how enamored Joanne was with Jordan, but he did not consider her feelings at all.

Instead, he had repeatedly asked Jordan to go to Irene's aids. Before this, she wasn't engaged to him

yet. But now that she and Jordan were engaged, Nathan was a bit too much by asking Jordan to help

Irene.

coat, and stalked out of the office. Nathan had mentioned that Irene was flying back with Edric, and

their journey would take at most another hour. He wanted to rush to the airport to pick Irene up. He

couldn't trust Edric with Irene; what if he treated her like he did before?

Besides, the first thing Irene would do would be to search for Eden. Margaret was one crazy lady who

could not be reasoned with. If he didn't go with her, Irene would definitely be at a disadvantage.

Although Nathan had told him that Edric was equally angry at Margaret for taking the liberty of

snatching Eden away and had promised to help Irene bring Eden back, Nathan would not give him the

benefit of the doubt.

He knew that Edric had never given up on Irene. Now that Margaret had brought Eden back into the

Myers family, who knew whether or not Edric would take the chance to weasel his way back into

demanding Irene to remarry him?

Thinking of Irene's current situation, Jordan's uneasiness had reached a crescendo. He immediately

ordered David to send some men to all main hospitals in San Fetillo to check if Margaret had admitted

Eden. Then he ordered David to drive him quickly to the airport.

When they arrived at the airport, Jordan locked the car and marched to the lobby. As soon as he

reached the entrance, he heard someone calling out to him. He quickly turned his head and saw that

Kinsey was heading his way.

"Mr. Reed, are you also here to pick Irene up?" asked Kinsey, panting.

Jordan said, "I am. You too?"

Kinsey nodded. "Just now, Nathan called me and told me that Irene is coming back to San Fetillo. He

asked me to come to pick her up if I am free and go with her to the Myers family to look for Eden. He

also informed me that you knew about this as well, and if I need anything I should come to you. So

when I saw you here, I immediately knew that you are here to pick Irene up too."

"Alright, let's go!" Jordan praised Nathan inwardly. He was indeed a meticulous man. He knew Irene

would need help from her friends at a time like this. With Kinsey's feisty attitude, she would be great at

standing up against that crazy lady Margaret.

Besides, he had engaged to Joanne. Maybe Nathan didn't want him to follow Irene alone, for it would

only bring unnecessary gossip. It would be more convenient to have Kinsey by his side.

They arrived at the hall and saw that it was still early; thus, they found a place to sit down and wait.

At the sight of Jordan's slightly furrowed brows, Kinsey felt a little emotional. He looked so anxious for

Irene. Even though Irene was about to marry Nathan, and Jordan himself was also engaged, he still

had Irene in his heart. Whenever Irene ran into trouble, Jordan would immediately offer his help. Kinsey

told me that Eden hates Margaret. He never wants to come back here with her. She even made him fall

and terrified him back in Mencodia."

For more than ten hours, she had been half lying on her seat and staring out of the window blankly.

Looking at her haggard face, Edric felt rather anguished. He persuaded her to eat and to have a wee

nap. She had ignored him as if he didn't exist.

He had never seen her in such a state. He knew that she hated him. She hated him for coming to

Mencodia to ask for a reunion with Eden. She hated him even more because he had told Margaret

about Eden's identity, which was what had prompted Margaret to take Eden away.

At this moment, his regret started heaping on top of his conscience. He should have never gone to

Mencodia, nor should he have told Margaret about Eden. If he hadn't done any of this, they wouldn't be

mired in this situation right now.

He had already made up his mind. After returning to San Fetillo, he would help her get Eden back and

would make sure that Eden never left her side again.

Before getting on the plane, he had called one of the employees from work. He'd told him that Margaret

had taken Eden back to San Fetillo and instructed him to keep a close eye on her. He wanted to see

where she would take Eden to.

He believed that with their efficiency, they had most likely already sent him an update about Eden's
