Richest Mogul

Richest Mogul 1007

  • Rowan, Aiken, and even people from the Ruell family, as well as Alexander, George, and Frank, all spoke highly of Skylar. They elevated her to a status of great admiration. Now, Joe was doing the same.

Vera wondered why everyone seemed to hold Skylar in such high regard. She wondered if it was due to Skylar’s ability to restore antiques and handle negative items.

Vera wondered if anyone had considered that Skylar might be responsible for many of these problems. It seemed impossible that so many supposedly harmful negative items could appear in Jipsburg City without any connection to her. Vera couldn’t believe it was merely a coincidence.

As Molly had said, many of Jipsburg’s recent disturbances were related to Skylar. Without her, the Ruell family might not have faced their recent troubles.”

“Skylar, I’ll be watching closely to see how long you can keep up this charade. Soon, someone will reveal your true nature. You better stay away from Jipsburg, or I’ll make sure you understand the consequences

of crossing me. NôvelDrama.Org holds © this.

“And Joe won’t be able to tolerate your deception and manipulation for long. I know your marriage to Joe is thanks to Mrs. Martin Senior. Once she sees your true colors, who will you rely on?”

As Vera prepared to leave the balcony, she noticed her reflection in a mirror on the table. The mirror showed her face contorted with rage and jealousy, her eyes burning with envy.

The sight was shocking and horrifying. She stiffened, staring at the reflection as if it were a stranger.

“How did I become so twisted? I’m supposed to be admired as a member of the Ruell family. How could I be so jealous of Skylar?”

While she muttered to herself, she suddenly realized someone was watching her. She turned sharply toward the balcony and saw…

“Paul? You’re staying next door to me?”

Paul looked at Vera with a complex expression. “There was an issue with the room I was originally staying in, so the staff moved me to this room.“,

He had only been on the balcony for a few minutes. Paul was somewhat surprised to see Vera on the balcony. However, he hadn’t expected Vera to be muttering to herself with such conviction.

With the wind today, he hadn’t caught every word. He could vaguely hear mentions of Skylar, her true nature, and her jealousy toward Skylar.

To him, Vera had always been an arrogant and imperious figure. Yet, there was something disconcertingly unfamiliar about her demeanor just now.

Ever since he learned that Vera was also in Fachington and staying at this hotel, he sensed something

    was off.

Vera’s face darkened. “So that’s how it is,” she said before making to leave the balcony.

But then she paused as if recalling something important.

Turning back to Paul, she said, “As Joe’s assistant, you need to stay calm and handle things with a clear mind. You should be aware of what Skylar is really like. Any issues concerning her should be directly reported to Joe. That way, Joe won’t be misled by Skylar.”

Paul frowned and said, “Ms. Ruell, are you suggesting Mrs. Martin is deceiving Joe? I think you might be

    mistaken.”

Paul suddenly understood why something had felt off earlier and why Vera had seemed so strange. When she spoke of Skylar, her disdain was evident, as if she saw Skylar as nothing but a fraud.

“Skylar was able to marry Joe partly because of Mrs. Martin Senior, but she comes from an ordinary background. For Mrs. Martin Senior to look at her favorably and for Joe to agree to a flash marriage, there must be something more.

“Skylar must have used some underhanded methods to achieve this. You should investigate her thoroughly,” Vera said, her brows furrowed.

She didn’t want to elaborate further. She didn’t want Paul to think she was overly concerned with Joe.

Paul’s frown deepened. “Ms. Ruell, you must be mistaken. Mrs. Martin acts with integrity and has never used any underhanded tactics.”

Paul wondered if someone had misled Vera. Otherwise, she shouldn’t have such baseless suspicion about Skylar.
