Richest Mogul 1018

The next morning, Skylar woke up to find her throat a bit hoarse, likely a sign of inflammation.

Looking at her reflection in the mirror, she noticed her eyes were puffy and red.

After washing her face, she went downstairs and made herself a simple breakfast of scrambled eggs and coffee. Joe hadn’t returned since their argument about divorce, clearly displeased by her words.

But this matter couldn’t be postponed. A resolution was necessary. The vivid nightmare from the previous night haunted her thoughts. She couldn’t risk harming those she loved.

However, while she was trapped in the nightmare, it felt as though someone was whispering in her ear, holding her tightly and comforting her.

It must have been a dream.

When she opened her eyes that morning, it felt like Joe had been beside her. However, seeing the empty space next to her confirmed it was merely an illusion.

After getting ready, she headed to Pearlhall Residence. Belongs © to NôvelDrama.Org.

Initially, Gloria refused to go to the hospital, but Skylar insisted. Eventually, she agreed to go for a check-

  1. up.

After some examinations at the hospital, the doctor recommended that Gloria stay for observation. Gloria didn’t want to stay, so the doctor didn’t press, and the test results would be ready the next day.

Skylar and Edgar escorted Gloria back to Pearlhall Residence.

In the afternoon, she went shopping at the mall and the supermarket to pick up some essentials for

Janine.

Janine had been quite busy lately. The store had started live broadcasts on several platforms and hired a few streamers. Everything was being managed smoothly under Janine’s careful supervision.

Seeing that Skylar looked unwell, Janine said with concern, “Have you been working too hard lately? If it’s too much, you should consider quitting.

“Our store’s income has stabilized after starting the live streams. You won’t have to worry about money, so there’s no need to push yourself so hard.”

“I just got back from abroad, and I’m adjusting to the time difference. Work isn’t exhausting. I haven’t been sleeping well these past couple of days, but there’s nothing to worry about, Mom,” Skylar said, not wanting to cause Janine any concern.

Seeing her family members each pursuing their lives so fully made her truly happy.

She realized that she had fallen in love with Joe. That was why, after reading Viola’s letter, she had been struggling within herself since yesterday. She didn’t want to end her marriage with Joe.

Janine smiled and nodded. “That’s good to hear. I was just worrying for nothing. You’ve been away in Fachington for so long, and I’ve missed you. Tonight, you just sit here and watch TV while I cook some dishes you love.

“By the way, where’s Joe? Is he off work? Give him a call and invite him over. What does he like to eat? I’ll make that too.”

Skylar’s gaze flickered. “He’s been really busy these days, sometimes working late until midnight. He doesn’t have time to come over. Let’s just eat together for now. When he has some free time, I’ll bring him

over.”

“That makes sense. He must have a lot of work to catch up on after being away for so long. I’ll go make dinner, so just relax and watch TV,” Janine said, her mind at ease just being with her daughter.

Skylar admired Janine, who still looked vibrant and youthful. If Janine didn’t reveal her true age to others, one would think she was just in her early 40s. Her fair skin and natural grace gave her a gentle elegance.

If it weren’t for the responsibilities toward her children, perhaps Janine would have found someone to share her life with by now.

After all, life was only halfway through. Skylar turned on the TV, her mind wandering as she watched.
