Under the streetlights, pedestrians chatted quietly.

“I never imagined that one day I would be filming in Fachington. It feels like a dream. Seven or eight years ago, I’d wished to become an award–winning actress.

“I haven’t achieved that yet, but I know it’s not the right time. I still need to keep growing and improving,” Helena said.

She held a glass of red wine in her hand, looking like she had something on her mind. However, she maintained a smile as she chatted with Skylar and Natalie.

Skylar smiled and said, “Then I hope your wish comes true someday.”

“Thank you.”

Natalie added, “Your acting skills are evident. That day is not far off.”

Natalie genuinely believed in Helena’s potential. Helena had both the looks and the acting skills. With her current popularity, as long as she continued to hone her craft, becoming an award–winning actress seemed inevitable.

With Jeremy supporting her now, it would likely happen soon. Helena looked thoughtfully at Natalie. If it were anyone else, she might have seen it as flattery. NôvelDrama.Org © content.

But looking at Natalie now, it was clear that she genuinely wished Helena well. Despite knowing Helena’s connection with Jeremy, Natalie remained sincere in her wishes.

Suddenly, Helena realized why Jeremy struggled to let Natalie go. It wasn’t that Helena wasn’t good enough; it was because she had qualities that drew people to her.

“Thank you,” Helena said.

After she finished speaking, the doorbell rang. Hearing it, she pressed her lips together.

It seemed that her role as a mere supporting character might be ending.

“I’ll get the door,” Helena said.

As Helena walked toward the door, she thought about how her current envy wasn’t of the glamorous. actress in the spotlight but rather of Natalie, who was behind her.

Clearly, only Natalie could make Jeremy go to such lengths to see her.

When the door opened, Jeremy appeared. He looked inside and saw Natalie and Skylar, who were just. coming in from the balcony.

They had just set down their half–eaten cake and were preparing to leave, but Jeremy was standing at the

door.

Jeremy’s gaze swept past Helena and landed directly on Natalie. Noticing the cake on Natalie’s lips, a slight smile appeared on his face.

He knew Natalie had a sweet tooth, and it wasn’t unusual for her to get some on her face when she was enjoying it.

“Have you finished your work?” Helena asked, remembering what she was supposed to say.

Although she felt a bit uncomfortable being ignored by Jeremy, she took it in stride and quickly adapted.

“Yes, I’m done,” Jeremy replied, stepping inside.

He then turned to Skylar. “I saw Joe earlier. He’ll come by to pick you up when he’s done with his work.”

“Pick me up?” Skylar was surprised and checked her phone. Indeed, Joe had texted her on WhatsApp about half an hour ago, saying he would come by in the evening.

Jeremy then turned to Natalie. “We need to talk later.”

Natalie tightened her grip on her hands. There was no avoiding this conversation. They indeed needed to have it. “Okay.”

Skylar was concerned for Natalie and said, “Nath, why don’t you help me pack up first?”

Natalie nodded and followed Skylar out of Helena’s room. After they left, Helena looked at Jeremy with a sweet smile. “Would you like a piece of cake, Mr. Hughes?

Jeremy glanced at the cake but declined. “No, thank you. You should enjoy your rest.”

As Jeremy was about to leave, Helena spoke up again. “Mr. Hughes, is there really no chance for us?” Jeremy paused at the door. He turned back to her, and his gaze remained as cold as ever. “No.”
